Ring ring ring ring

It was the sound of Jinri's ringing alarm clock. She wanted more sleep so she lazily brought her arm around her body to snooze the alarm clock. Instead of feeling the smooth metal of her alarm clock, she a felt a warm hand blocking her way. She groggily opened her eyes to see her older brother, Onew, giving her a look of disapproval.

"Jinri-ah, you have to learn how to get up on your own. One day I won't be there to stop you from sleeping over time."

"Oppa, just five more minutes!" Whined Jinri. For a moment there was silence and Jinri thought her brother let her loose, but instead her brother ripped off the blankets from her bed to allow the cold morning air to envelope her. Jinri quickly sat up with a pout on her face while yelling, "Oppa, you're so mean!"

"Sh, Jinri, umma and appa are still sleeping. Now, get up and brush your teeth, we need to get to school early today because I'm getting my exchange student from America."

WIthout realizing that she was talking outloud she blurted, "Stupid exchange student, making me wake up earlier than usual."

Onew eyed Jinri and then furrowed his eyebrows. "Mianhe oppa, I didn't mean to say that outloud!" Said Jinri as she quickly covered and got up to get ready for school.

"Hurry up Jinri we have to go! Just grab a granola bar and eat it in the car. We're supposed to be at the school earlier than the exchange student!"

"I'm hurrying. One second, let me just finish putting my hair up."

"We have no time, just keep it down for today." Onew pushed Jinri out the door before she could reach for a hair tie, leaving her long black hair flowing in the wind.

Once in the car, Jinri went to sleep. Onew looked at Jinri and sighed. Sometimes she could be such a pain in the mornings. Once it was afternoon, she was her usual bubbly self.

While shaking Jinri, Onew said, "Jinri, we're here."

Jinri rubbed her eyes and tried to focus on her surroundings. She finally realized it was Monday and she was at school early. That thought was enough to make her grumble. After Jinri and Onew got out of the car, they walked to the Main Entrance, where the exchange students were supposedly arriving to get picked up. From a distance a white bus was approaching the school and Jinri assumed it was the exchange students. When the bus arrived, the exchange students exited the bus and waited for teacher's assistance. 

In Korean, one of the teachers from Jinri and Onew's school welcomed the new exchange students. "Hello everyone. Good morning. On behalf of the staff who are part of the language department of Seoul Girls and Boys High School, we would like to thank you for joining this exchange student program. This program has assisted numerous students in the past to immensely improve their Korean language and knowledge about the culture." Then, the same teacher translated what she said, but in English. "Everyone, please follow the staff as we assign you with your exchange student."

The teachers began reading off names and who they would be staying with. 

"Kam Nam Ji with exchange student Nu Sang Chol."

"Ma Jung Hee with exchange student Thomas Kang."

A long list of names was said until finally, Onew's exchange student was read. "Choi Onew with Choi Minho." Walking towards Onew and Jinri was a nerdy and scrawny looking boy who looked to be about Onew's age. Onew introduced himself in Korean first, then in English, and Minho did the same. Minho had doubts about his stay with someone who seemed like the most popular kid of the school, ultimately someone who was the opposite of him, but his worries subsided after a short introduction.

"Annyeonghaseyo. Onew imnida." Onew offered his hand out and they shook hands. Continuing in Korean, Onew said,"Don't mind my sister here. She couldn't get another ride so she is here with us. Minho, meet Jinri. Jinri will be in some of our classes." Looking at Jinri for reassurance Onew continued, "I think she shares Gym, Health, and Chemistry with us." Jinri nodded and sent a smile to Minho.

"Annyeonghaseyo. Jinri imnida." Jinri brightly said. Minho couldn't help but recognize Jinri's beauty, especially her long flowing hair, and her bubbly and cute aura.

"Annyeonghaseyo. Minho imnida." Jinri offered out her hand and they shook hands, sending an unknown sensation down Minho's back, while Jinri couldn't help but notice Minho's uniquely baritone voice.
