Chapter 4
Learning to love an AlphaChapter 4 - Meeting the pack
Kai had pulled Ara out of the janitor’s closet and straight to his rather expensive looking car parked in front of the school building. The sky was beginning to get dark, despite it only being 6 in the afternoon, but Ara knew it was because they were in the middle of October, nearing winter.
Kai had wordlessly pulled the car out of the school premises and onto the motorway, his driving skills impeccable compared to Ara’s. They were driving fast, but not fast enough to break any rules, and Ara clutched onto her seatbelt, feeling her heart beat faster.
She didn’t know where he was taking her, but she was scared off him, and honestly, she would rather prefer to be at home with her mother than on the way to her potential death.
“Calm down.” Ara jumped, looking over at Kai with wide eyes, and she noticed how his jaw was clenched, eyes trained on the road. “Your heartbeat, it’s crazy.”
It was then that Ara realized that being a supernatural creature entailed having supernatural abilities, and Kai was a bloody werewolf, of course he’d have some sort of super hearing.
Ara didn’t reply, instead she looked out of the window and tried to memorize the road they were taking, noticing how much greenery they were passing. She wondered how far away from the school they were, palms sweaty, fingers playing with the hem of her skirt.
“W-where are we going?” Kai didn’t reply, simply opting for focusing on the road. But the answer presented itself in the shape of a house, a huge one located in the middle of a clearing near the woods.
There was no civilization nearby, Ara had been keeping an eye on the road they had taken and she felt her nerves buzz with nervousness. Was he taking her to the pack? It did make sense that they lived so far away from the town; they were bloody werewolves. And yet he went to school with her, without anyone noticing what he really was.
“Come on.” Ara’s hands were shaking, but she complied, opening the car door and following Kai towards the huge, wooden building. It was a dark grey colour, with a tall entrance door and two windows a few inches over it, and Ara soon came to realize that the building had at least two floors.
Kai didn’t need any keys, the door was already unlocked, and so he just opened it and turned around, impatiently motioning Ara inside.
“I-I don’t want to.” Ara had literally whimpered it out, and Kai’s scowl deepened, his jaw clenching again. Oh no. He was in front of Ara in a flash, earning a squeal from her, and then he was dragging her inside, taking advantage of the moment.
The door was closed behind them, Kai’s warm breath dangerously close to Ara’s neck, but she didn’t really pay it any attention because Kyungsoo and Baekhyun were standing in front of her, in the opening of the hallway that led to what must have been the living room.
“Ara!” Kyungsoo was grinning in genuine delight, and Baekhyun winked at her, making the entire situation feel somewhat normal. But it wasn’t normal at all, far from it, and a few seconds later, another person entered the hallway, blond hair styled upwards, emphasizing strong facial bones and a deep frown. It was the third boy who had openly checked Ara out in the history class earlier that day.
“What on earth is she doing here? And why does she feel different?”
“A lot happened at school after you ditched today, Sehun,” Baekhyun drawled, smirkin
