This chapter is going to be written in present tense! I'm trying this out to see if it's better than past tense, comment if you like it this way and I'll keep writing in present tense!

Chapter 21

"Maybe it's the full moon, it's like right around the corner," Sehun whispers, hiding behind a tall cabinet, Baekhyun and Tao leaning next to him. They're all watching Kai and Kris discuss which blankets to buy with one of the store clerks, looks of total disbelief on Sehun and Baekhyun's faces because Kai is shopping for blankets, Kai is being kind, Kai is being normal.  

"I still think Yunho convinced him, why else would he put silence charms on his room?" Baekhyun says, shaking his head in disagreement. Tao bites his lip and frowns at Baekhyun.

"I did get the impression that your alpha was kinda rude and all, but if you're so concerned about him being humane and helpful to people in, like, a really bad situation like ours, then honestly I'm a little worried." Sehun suddenly yelps and ducks, elbowing Baekhyun in the ribs, and Baekhyun hisses, stumbling backwards only to end up falling directly onto Tao, both landing on the floor in a heap of limbs. 

"You do realize that I can hear you, right?" Kai snaps, his head popping up between some of the empty shelves in the cabinet, and Sehun scrambles off in a flash, Baekhyun and Tao both fighting to get to their feet and get the away from the fuming alpha. 

"You're not the only one that can hear them." Kai turns around and sighs when Kris offers him a small smirk. "I apologize on Tao's behalf; he barely knows you. Your pack, on the other hand..." He trails off with a suggestive tone and Kai chuckles, shaking his head before walking off. 

They have gone to Ikea, looking for beds and extra blankets and pillows for Kris' pack, and for some reason, Sehun, Tao and Baekhyun decided that they wanted to join them. The rest of the pack members are at the pack house, all probably watching TV and eating up all the potato chips they had bought at the grocery store. 

"I think we're settled for now," Kai says, and Kris nods in agreement. They fill out a bunch of papers and the store clerk assures them that their beds will be delivered the next day. The blankets, bed sheets and pillows, however, were ready to be taken home, and Kai forces Sehun and Baekhyun to bring everything out to the parking lot and into the Rover. 

"Stupid jerk," Sehun mutters angrily, glaring at the back of Kai's head from the back seat, and Baekhyun's also glaring, but Tao suddenly says something and he has long forgotten his grudge.
