CHAPTER 2

     For some twisted turn of fate, the class that Youngjae skipped became a catalyst of a somewhat awkward situation for him. Their teacher assigned a group project and of course, Himchan automatically included him in his group. But what he couldn’t fathom was the reason why Jung Daehyun was also scouted. He thought as he looked at the guy’s direction across the table before offering him a smile, “Umm…I will go out and buy some cold coffee, are you okay with the strong one?”

     The three of them are in Himchan’s place, pulling an all-nighter for their project; though Himchan was already knocked out with saliva pooling on his papers even.

      “I guess this guy needs three cans of it,” Daehyun replied referring to the snoring Himchan beside him. “As for me, just a cold green tea will do. Thanks.”

     Youngjae shrugged. “That brat can consume five cans and will still manage to sleep like a log so I’m not buying him anything.”

     That’s what he said but when he came back from the convenience store, he ended up with three cups of instant ramen, two cans of black coffee and a bottle of green tea. He pushed the door open without knocking because he left it partially open but the scene that he witnessed made him regret that.

     Ever since he noticed Daehyun’s special way of looking at Himchan, Youngjae promised to himself that he will punch the boy’s pretty face if ever he lays a hand on his friend but judging by the current situation, he just can’t bring himself to do that. Only Satan could do something that cruel in that kind of atmosphere.

     Himchan still had his face planted on the table, snoring. And Daehyun was still there beside him. Only, Daehyun wasn’t doing his papers anymore but was tenderly fixing a piece of blanket around Himchan. After securing the fabric, he stared at Himchan’s face for a good few seconds before contemplating whether he will touch his hand that was sticking out or not.
