Fears

Maturity

She had no idea what was happening. The last she could remember was drinking with her friends, till blackness consumed her. All of the sudden, her wife was crying and trembling in fear, all in the vicinity of their own home.

"Did I do something wrong while I was drunk? Unnie, why are you crying?" Bomi was flustered to the point where she was now 100% sober and wide-awake, wrapping her wife into an embrace, she couldn't really say anything but to let Chorong's tears flow out. It was rare to see her cry because she always put a strong-front and it hurt even more, to witness it.

"I-It's nothing. Go and change yourself. You reek of alcohol." mumbled the older girl as she wiped her tears away.

"Alright." Bomi obeyed her words and removed her arms, heading straight into the toilet to clean her own mess. Occasionally she would peek outside, hoping that her wife was okay. Looking into her reflection at the mirror, the girl gently touched the red cheek which her wife had slapped her with. The stinging pain was still present and it gave her a memory to keep in her heart.

"The first time my wife slapped me." The girl mumbled as she remembered how Chorong accidentally kicked her back in high school. Those were the really fun days of their romantic youth, where they didn't have a care in a world except the two of them.

"Yoon Bomi!" shouted Chorong along the corridor to which Bomi flinched with a nervous smile. She kept forgetting that her girlfriend was the student council president and being the deliquent she was, getting caught was the thing she feared the most.

"Y-Yes unnie?" asked Bomi as she turned around slowly, only to see a deathly glare from the girl.

"You're not allowed to wear pants under your skirt. That's against the school rules, you'll be deducted 5 points for this."

"But it's comfortable wearing them! I can spread my legs like that!" said Bomi as she bent down, lifted her skirt and spreaded her legs as wide as she could. That's when, she heard the sound of something breaking apart.

It was then she realised, she used too much strength to the point a hole broke free in the middle of her legs. And to make it worse, it was right in front of Chorong's eyes. She just revealed the colour of her to her girlfriend.

"Oh. Crap." And in that moment, Bomi realised that she was totally ed.

In a split second, she felt a whooping force being pushed against her stomach. The older girl had kicked her out of pure instinct and sent her flying across the corridor.

The girl laughed by herself, remembering those days. Coming back to reality, she sighed.

"I wished I didn't grow up so soon. Being an adult is pretty complicated." she thought to herself.

In the car, Namjoo tried to focus on the road while listening to Hayoung's random rambles. Although the girl wasn't exactly sober or drunk either, she always found it adorable whenever she was in that state. It reminded her of the Hayoung in high school.

"Unnnnieeeee can we watch Pororoooo when we get back homeeeeee" said the younger girl in a boisterious, loud tone while tracing her fingers along the car window.

"Mm, we can watch it during the weekends if you like. You stopped watching them when you entered college though?" The girl laughed while occasionally glancing at Hayoung whose face was in a red-blush, swollen cheeks and lips formed into a pout similiar to a child's.

"Do you knowwww that Hayoungggg loveeess Namjoooo unnie a lottttt??"

"Yes I do. I love you lots too, Hayoung-ah."

The girl turned to Namjoo and had the most, adorable smile ever. Her lips were grinning from ear-to-ear, smiling like a fool.

"I guess tonight we'll have a break from banging each other. You were so eager texting me four hours ago." laughed Namjoo somehow relieved because the Hayoung that she knew now, was far too aggressive in professing her love. Perhaps she should let Hayoung get drunk more often, so that her softer side would appear.

"Banginggggg? What's thatttttt is it head banginggg like the ones you do at heavy metal concertssss?"

"No but I guess you can say that too." Namjoo tried to control her laughter. Sometimes, she wished she could've recorded the whole scene but her priorities were on driving her back home.

Pulling the handbrake and managing to park her car, Namjoo got out of the car, opened the other door and helped her wife to straddle along the staircase before they reached the door of their apartment.

"Are we hoooomeeeee?"

"Home sweet home." smiled Namjoo in reply as she moved Hayoung straight to the toilet, getting ready to undress and change her into comfortable clothes to get her ready for bed. It reminded her of high school again, because they did something similar.

"Come on." Namjoo said, boldy taking Hayoung's hands as she dragged her to the woman's toilet in their high school. Alone in a toilet cubicle together, they could feel each other's breath against their skin.

"I-I can handle this myself! I don't need you!" stuttered the younger girl as her face flushed in full red, completely taken aback by what she was about to do.

"Why the heck are you getting so embarrassed for when we're just girls?" said Namjoo with a laugh as she carefully ed Hayoung's blouse. "Plus, your hands are in no condition to do that." she said while eyeing on the bandage wrapped around Hayoung's left arm. Just about a few weeks ago, the girl had a terrible accident during PE class. Known to be terribly bad at sports, the girl accidentally sprained and dislocated her arm during an event. Ever since, Namjoo had been taking care of her like a mother.

"If you touch my s once, I'm-I'm gonna sue you!"

"I won't for god sakes!" said Namjoo as she slapped her shoulder before removing her blouse. Then, she took the new set that she brought along and helped the girl change into the cleaner one.

"If only that bastard didn't bump into me and spilled his damn coffee all over my shirt, this wouldn't have happened."

"Hayoung-ah, use pretty words." frowned Namjoo. Although she had a very innocent mind, she was obviously more aggressive verbally.

Making sure that her wife was now, soundly asleep, Namjoo could finally wash herself up. Standing in the shower as she allowed the water to flow down her skin, she thought about a lot of things. She thought about her married life, her work and more importantly, Hayoung. She felt sorry for coming home late everyday and always accepted to her requests to have on weekend nights, because it was the most she could do, to make up their time lost together.

"I wish you didn't mature and grow up so fast. Sometimes, it was better if the innocent you remained." The girl mumbled.

Back in the luxurious home of The Sons, Naeun grunted as she struggled, carrying her wife back home before tossing her onto the couch after hearing her muscles cry in pain. She sighed, crossing her arms as she stared at Eunji who was soundly asleep and smiling away.

"You're always the same." The girl mumbled. This wasn't the first time she had to bring her drunken wife home because she knew about her drinking habits. She had advised her to drink lesser, knowing that it can affect her health if she doesn't control. But, she never listens.

Looking at the clock, it was past 2am and it was a Saturday tommorow meaning it was a day off. The girl wondered if she should just leave her wife at the couch and have the whole bed to herself or be a good girl and wash her up. She pondered for awhile, thinking if it was a good chance to play with her. After all, she played a lot of pranks with Eunji back in high school.

That's right, their love was at it's highest peak during their youth. Those were the greatest times to fall in love.

The school bell rang signalling the start of their one hour break. Naeun escaped from her classroom and headed to the second floor where the seniors classrooms were. Peeking around, she didn't find her girlfriend.

"Oh, Naeun-ah! Are you looking for Eunji?" asked Bomi as she waved over.

"Mm. She isn't with you?"

"Nope. She said she's tired so she wanted to catch some sleep. You know where to find her, right?" The girl winked as if it was a common thing for her to do.

"Thank you Bomi unnie!" said Naeun as she walked with fast, excited steps towards the rooftop. Huffing and catching her breath, she opened the door as she was greeted with the strong push of the wind. It was a perfect atmosphere to relax under the bright, blue skies and the peaceful silence. Looking around, she searched for her girlfriend only to smile. There she was.

With her body flat on the ground, hands on her stomach while a mathematics textbook covered her face to block the sunlight, she knew at one glance that it was Eunji. Naeun crouched over and carefully took the textbook away, immediately seeing the scrunch in Eunji's expression but her eyes still remained shut. After all, the Jung Eunji was well-known for being extremely difficult to wake up.

It was then a cheeky grin planted over Naeun's face as she scrambled through her little purse and took out a black marker pen. While trying to contain her laughter, the girl drew something on Eunji's face and later, took a picture of it on her phone. To add more spice, Naeun gently lifted Eunji's hand and wrote on her palm "I think you should check the mirror - Nangni " before running off.

As the bell rang again, signalling the continuation of classes, Naeun returned back to her seat and patiently waited. She was excited, thrilled as she knew what was coming for her. It all seemed so silent as her classmates started to open their books and the teacher cleared his throat. That's when, there was a sudden shout across the hallway, loud enough to form an echo as the ground shaked a little.

"SONNNNNN NAEUNNNNNNN WHERE THE HECKKKKK ARE YOUUUUUUUUU????!!!!!!"

Everyone on that floor knew at once, it was the noisy Jung Eunji.

Slamming the classroom door opened as she deadpanned set her eyes on Naeun sitting in the far corner, everyone broke into a laughter, seeing Eunji's face.

Naeun couldn't help but to laugh. It was one of the best days in her life, to fool around with her girlfriend.

The Naeun now, smiled upon those memories. She had never knew that her pranks made Eunji to fall deeper in love with her, she had no idea that the face of the girl she drew on, would eventually become her wife. Looking back at the present Eunji in her house, her smile disappeared into a frown. She didn't know what went wrong. Or perhaps, they've been married for so long that it's just normal to see each other. She could no longer feel her heart fluttering whenever she saw her and instead of recieving compliments, Eunji would often insult her at work whenever she was clumsy. The Eunji back then, would comfort her but the Eunji now, was nothing but a co-worker.

Holding tightly onto her silver ring, she made a decision. She decided to leave Eunji like that and headed straight to bed, having the whole bed to herself. She did it out of revenge, out of her frustrating emotions she had over her, because she was upset.

"I don't know if I can no longer fall in love with you anymore...." thought the girl to herself as tears formed in her eyes, tightly hugging her pillow as she thought of the worst possible things that could happen.

A divorce.

Namjoo was up early in the wee hours of Saturday morning, using her kitchen that had remained untouched for the whole week as she cooked up a simple breakfast for her and Hayoung.

"Morning baby" mumbled Hayoung as she surprised the girl from behind, wrapping her arms around her waist and tucking her head gently on the shoulder.

"Don't scare me like that."

"Sorry. You helped me changed my clothes when I got drunk didn't you?"

"Mm."

"Thank you." Hayoung said softly while leaving her marks over Namjoo's neck and collarbone.

"You're surprisingly not today." said Namjoo with sarcasm. She couldn't forget how every single weekend mornings, she would have to make up different types of excuses to leave out another round of banging and postponing it to night.

"I'm sober and I guess you're a little tired from yesterday so I didn't ask." The younger girl smiled.

"That's thoughtful of you."

"You know unnie, I was thinking."

"What?"

"This may sound dumb but I realise that love isn't just about ."

"Of course Mrs.Know It All"

"Be honest with me unnie. It's exhausting whenever we go for rounds right?"

"Mm." Namjoo nodded without hesitation. She believed that being truthful was the right path to maintaining a healthy relationship with her partner because they should know the boundaries.

"You could've told me that you were uncomfortable with it. I'll learn to control my y side."

"I still wonder how did you get so dirty-minded. Back in high school, you were such an innocent kid who would blush whenever there was kissing scenes in dramas."

"Well, it's all thanks to you unnie."

"What did I do?"

"You showed me ."

"Ah......" Namjoo's mouth was open for awhile, realising what she had done. She had created a lustful monster.

"Let's go for a date unnie." said Hayoung with excitement.

"Alright. It's been awhile since we went on one." nodded the older girl in agreement.

Sunshine creeped through the curtains in the home of Chorong and Bomi. The younger girl could still feel the after-effects from drinking too much alcohol from last night but the memories of her wife crying, was still vividly present. Waking up, she was relieved to find Chorong sleeping soundly beside her.

With a smile, Bomi went back to bed and gently caressed her hair. It was a Saturday and their restuarant was closed during the weekends. The couple could sleep all the wanted and have a well-deserved rest but she knew better, that her wife deserved it more. She felt sorry for not being around to help out when she went drinking with her friends. She wanted to make up to her but instead, she ended up hurting her. A mixture of complicated feelings rounded up her stomach as all she could do was watch her wife, sleep.

"Bom-ah, what time is it now?"

"7am. Did I wake you up?" mumbled Bomi as she wrapped her arms around her waist and gently pecked her neck.

"Not really. What do you want to do today? It's our day off."

"I want to have ." Bomi said boldy with a laugh.

Immediately, she could feel a shiver down her wife's body.

"I'm just joking. Chill." said Bomi as she could feel her wife, relaxing in relief. The girl wondered, why her wife was so afraid of ual . Was there more to the story that she doesn't know about?

"I..I see..." stuttered Chorong as her eyes wavered. Bomi noticed that and she couldn't hold back her curiousity any longer.

"Unnie, what's wrong with you? It's been over three months since we've gotten married and we didn't even have once!" said Bomi in frustration.

"I'm sorry Bom-ah. I don't think I'm ready yet." The older girl sighed.

"I don't understand." The younger girl frowned. Snuggling her head in between her shoulder, Bomi didn't want to leave their embrace. She was very attached to her wife and didn't want to leave her. Eunji often for being possessive but Bomi thinks it's just an act of love.

"When I'm ready, I'll tell you." Chorong said while tracing her fingers along Bomi's hair, gently giving a forehead kiss.

"It's a promise okay?" Bomi pouted.

"Mm. A promise. Promises are not supposed to be broken." nodded the older girl.

Morning had arrived as sunlight basked through the curtains, and all Naeun could feel was a leg hanging across her chest. She knew that it was Eunji, who was well-known to be a very messy sleeper. Checking the time, it was 7am and she was sure that her drunken wife would've woken up unconciously last night and found her way to bed, collapsing instantly. Her clothes were still the same, reeking with alcohol and her makeup was still fresh on her face. Typical.

Carefully putting Eunji's leg away from her chest, Naeun woke up first and headed to the kitchen to cook up a light breakfast. She remembered how during the early days of their marriage, Eunji would always surprise her from behind with a backhug and greeted her with soft kisses down her neck. But that has never happened for three years now. The feelings were now, mutual rather than romantic.

"God, how much did I drink?" mumbled Eunji as she staggered up from her bed, having to hold against the wall as she walked to the direction of the delicious smell brewing in the kitchen.

"The usual. I already told you to stop drinking." said Naeun coldly as she served breakfast on the table.

"Sorry. I just had to drink down my feelings." said Eunji, walking straight to the table as she ate quietly.

Silence continued after that. It was the same, every time.

"It's the weekend, anything that you want to do today?" Naeun asked.

"Nothing really. I think I'll just spend the day sleeping and try to sober up from last night."

"As usual." The younger girl mumbled.

"Did you say something Naeun-ah?"

"No."

Eunji frowned as she put her fork and spoon on the table.

"Just tell me. I need to know whatever that you're going through."

"I said it's nothing."

"I know a lie when I see it. Why can't you tell me what's going on? Are you just going to continue giving me the cold response like always?" sighed Eunji as anger slowly boiled from inside.

"Why are you getting mad at me? Have you already had enough scolding me in the office?!"

"That's a different matter!" growled Eunji as she slammed the table out of anger. ". I ed up." It was then, the girl froze and realised what she had just done. Her wife, was now in tears.

"L-Look. I-I'm sorry." The girl calmed down as she turned away.

"Are you happy?" said Naeun softly as she wiped her tears.

"Huh?"

"I'm saying if you're happy being with me."

"O-Of course I am Naeun-ah I'm-"

"You're just using me as a toy. That's all."

Eunji's eyes widened as she was completely taken aback by what she had just heard. She didn't know that Naeun felt that way. She had always thought that the girl was okay to comply with having with her every weekend, but she didn't think it would end up like this.

"I'm not using you as a toy! Look, if you're uncomfortable we can stop. I can fix my habits."

"You didn't promise me that when it came to your drinking habits."

Eunji sighed. Her wife was cornering her everywhere.

"Are you happy?" Eunji asked, turning the question towards her. The girl was silent for awhile. Instead, tears only flowed down her cheeks. The older girl wanted to move her feet, pull her into an embrace, wipe her tears away and comfort her. But she couldn't. She was stuck. Her body didn't move.

"Fine." Eunji said after Naeun didn't reply her question. She feared that she would have to come to this decision eventually because she had given up. She didn't know where this marriage could continue, if both parties weren't happy.

"I'm sorry. Let's file for divorce." Eunji said as she looked into her eyes, knowing that this was not the decision that they could've come to.

"Fine. Let's." sobbed Naeun as she wiped her tears away. Even though she didn't want it to happen, but neither of them would be happy in this marriage. It only brought them to argue more, insult and hurt each other more.

They were nothing more than just strangers.

Chapter 20: Finally I'm done reading this master piece! I dunno What to say... It was roller coaster ride full of emotions! There are parts you read while grinning while others you read and want to scream your feelings out... I know I'm late, but I don't regret reading this. I'm done finally.
Thanks dear for this amazing peace of fiction? And don't mind the characters, every role needs to be played by an idol and not all roles are good so hahhaha...
But one thing is for sure, you chose the right ones to represent their respective roles. I mean, Taemin will look really hot playing the bad rich boy role right?
Anyway, Take care dear amd all the best with your college??
