Chapter 4
Torn'Aish,' I coughed into my cosy blanket as I croaked into the phone with all my remaining energy, 'I really can't go to school today.' Once again, I patted the cold towel on my heated forehead with the back of my hand as I coughed more.
'I'm gonna tell Jimin,' Mina anxiously responded on the other end of the line, 'he needs to know.' The busy corridors of university could be heard in the background as I concentrated on not dozing off.
'He's got private practice today,' I explained to her, urging her not to bother him. 'PD nim is already scolding him for taking too much time off to see me.' I took off the now-warm towel, placing it on the bedside table and my overheating head, realising that Mina had already ended the call. Aish, this girl. I stared at my clock before everything started going blurry and I closed my eyes.
As my watch ticked 4:15, I pushed through the crowds to the café, my bag knocking into other people more violently than appropriate. 'Sorry I'm late,' I managed to make out between my gasps for air. 'Turns out Jimin's mom couldn’t drive me because Jimin had a dance lesson.' He understandingly smiled up at me, his round glasses perfectly placed on his perfect nose on his perfect face.
