“She have those Cat-like eyes, chubby cheeks, slightly taller than me and she dances and sings well.”

Seulgi already racked her brain just to find a person who matches those traits, if she knew that it'll be this hard to guess, she shouldn't have asked in the first place.

And the aching pain inside her didn't help. 

Irene said she likes someone, she didn't want to tell the person's name so instead she describe the person and that made Seulgi frustrated for the past hour. 

She's currently seated in a bench, waiting for her friends and while she waits, she scanned her surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of this person with cat-eyes and chubby cheeks. 

She found none. 

“Hey, Seul. Wassup.” Byulyi greeted the girl, frowning upon noticing that the girl looked pre-occupied.

 “Are you looking for someone?” Seungwan asked, Seulgi gave them a glance then sighed.

“By any chance, do you know someone with Cat-like eyes, chubby cheeks and who dances and sings well?” She hoped the traits rang a bell and just like she thought so, Byulyi's eyes glowed.

“Jennie Kim. That's definitely Jennie Kim. Why?” 

Upon hearing this, Seulgi's shoulder dropped. Great, Just great. Of all people Irene's crushing on, it just had to be the school's sweetheart. Seulgi's already feeling the pain of rejection creeping inside her heart. 

She should've known. Anyone with great standards would be crushing on Jennie, She's perfect. Too perfect. 

And Seulgi's hopes and dreams to be with Irene Bae just got thrown out of the window. She's no match against The Jennie Kim.

“Unnie.” Seulgi greeted the older girl, Irene's smile grew wider upon seeing her friend. She stopped walking and waited for the younger one to catch up. 

“Hey.”

“Uh, Unnie, Are you going to watch Jennie's performance later?” Seulgi asked, slightly hoping that Irene wouldn't because she had some things she would do later, or just because Irene wouldn't want to.

“Yes. Why?” 

Of course, Seulgi shouldn't have hoped. She knew Irene liked the girl, everyone would love to watch their crushes perform, Irene would love to watch Jennie perform. 

“You're going to perform with her, right?” Irene continued to ask when Seulgi didn't answer. As far as she remember, Seulgi and Jennie are in the same dance troop, so she expects to see Seulgi later on.

“Yeah.” Seulgi sounded down, she looked like a kicked puppy, with her head hung low and small voice. Irene couldn't help but to worry for the younger girl. 

“Hey, Are you nervous? Don't be. I'll be there. Just look at me while you're performing so you won't be nervous. Okay?” Irene tried to cheer the girl up but to no avail. 

You'll be there but not for me. I'll be looking at you but you won't be watching me, you'll be watching her instead.

Seulgi just nodded and gave the girl a small smile which didn't reach her eyes. She couldn't help but to feel down knowing that Irene's heart is already owned by someone, by someone who isn't her. 

By someone who is better than her. 

“Unnie, I'll be leaving now. See you around.” Seulgi said, turning her heels around and running towards the direction they came from. 

“But her classroom is just beside mine.” Irene felt confused, why would Seulgi turn around when their classes are just beside each other's, they always walk together, but today was different. 

Is Seulgi avoiding me?

“Kang Seulgi! Kang Seulgi!” Seulgi facepalmed herself upon hearing her friends cheering for her on the audience's seat. She widened her eyes to shut them up but they just laughed and continued cheering for her. 

She's standing on the stage, fixing her outfit and waiting for their leader's cue so that the music would play and they start dancing. She closed her eyes shut, praying mentally to perform smoothly and not make mistakes. 

“Hey, your friends are quite supportive.” A hand placed on her shoulder and a quiet whisper on her ear brought her back to reality. Imagine her shock when she sees Jennie's perfect face up-close. 

And even though she's beautiful, she can't bring herself to like this girl. Not when she's the person that Irene likes. 

“No, they aren't. They're just a bunch of retards that likes to humiliate me.” She answered, her eyes going back to her friends who now has a banner of her name and baby picture printed on it. Where it came from, she didn't know.

“I think they're fun to be with. Anyway, let's have a smooth performance. Fighting!” Seulgi nodded and smiled, Jennie went back to her position and waited for the cue. 

Then, Seulgi caught a glimpse of Irene eyeing her from the audience's seats, she was about to smile to the girl when Irene's looked at a different direction and waved. 

Seulgi thinks she couldn't perform anymore when she sees that Irene was waving at Jennie.

“Wooh! As expected, Seulgi slayed the performance!” Byulyi stated while wrapping her arm around the grinning girl, Seungwan patted Seulgi's shoulder and gave her a thumbs up.

“You really own the dance floor, Seul.” they both smiled but then a moment later they were shoved aside because of a group of girls running towards a certain person. 

“Watch where you're going!” Byulyi shouted but got ignored as they started yelling and fangirling. 

“I think they're here for Jennie.” Seungwan commented, they saw Jennie in the middle of the crowd, thanking everyone and accepting gifts from them. She didn't mind getting squished by the students, she still had her smile on her face while interacting with the girls.

“Unnie, you're the best dancer!” Seulgi heard a girl saying, Jennie just smiled and thanked the girl. Well, it might be true. Jennie might be a better dancer than Seulgi but atleast she got her friends to say otherwise.

“I still think you're the hottest on stage, Seul. Don't worry.” Byulyi said while dragging Seulgi out of the room, while walking they saw Irene holding a box of chocolates and walking towards their direction.

“Yo, Irene! What's that for?” Byulyi asked while letting go of Seulgi and eyeing the box of chocolate that Irene's holding. Irene smiled at Byulyi and Seung, she then looked at Seulgi who was looking at everything but her.

“Oh, I'm giving this to Jennie. Is she inside?” Seulgi felt her heart being ripped hearing those words come out from her crush's lips. Of course, it'll always be Jennie.

So, she's one of those girls. 

“Yeah. She's inside. Good luck though, there's a bunch of screaming girls inside.” Seungwan chuckled, they could still here Jennie's fangirls from where they stand. Jennie's so popular, Seulgi couldn't even help but to feel jealous.

“Okay. Thanks. Anyway, Seul, you just proved earlier that you're the best dancer in this school!” Irene gigled seeing Seulgi getting red because of her compliment, she patted the girl's shoulder and continued to walk towards her destination, leaving Seulgi with her heart palpitating wildly to the point she thinks she's going to faint anytime.

“Are they a thing?” Byulyi asked pointing to Irene and Jennie at the corner of the room, talking happily with bright eyes, wide smiles and loud laughters. Seulgi immediately avoided the scene.

“I don't know. I'm not sure.” Seungwan had her eyes narrowed and head tilted as she watched Irene slapping the young one's arm, Jennie's laughter echoed through the room and Seulgi thinks she wants to mute everything in that moment. 

“They've been close since the day we saw Irene-Unnie with a box of chocolates for Jennie. I think they got together by then.” Seulgi frowned, maybe this is for the best. She might be hurt now, but at least she can start moving on. 

This is what Irene deserves, to be happy and to be with the person that makes her happy. Seulgi shouldn't ruin that just because of her silly feelings for the latter. She never had the chance anyway, they're just friends, and if that's the most she could get, then she'll be contended.

“Why don't you ask her, Seul. Since you're so close with Unnie.” Seungwan suggested which made Seulgi frown even more. She could ask anything to Irene but not about this, Not about their relationship, Not about the thing that makes her heart ache. 

“I don't want to. Let's just leave them alone.” Seulgi started to leave, Seungwan and Byulyi looked at her retreating figure with confusion in their eyes.

She couldn't leave them alone.

Because if she can, she shouldn't be in the rooftop with Irene while biting her lower lip nervously, trying to come up for a quick solution to end this.

“Unnie, don't feel offended, okay?” With those words, Irene felt even more confused as to what Seulgi wants to say. 

Then there's the familiar feeling creeping her insides again, that feeling that only Seulgi can give her. How is that even possible, she doesn't know.

“Are you and Jennie in a relationship?” Irene's mouth went ajar, she couldn't believe what Seulgi had just asked. She didn't know if she's supposed to be laughing or not. She doesn't even know if Seulgi's being serious right now.

“I-I mean, don't get offended, U-Unnie. I know you like her and all but I'm just asking so.. Y-you know.” Seulgi kept on flailing her hands to emphasize what she's saying and Irene felt even more confused.

“What do you mean? Wait. I like Jennie?” Irene started laughing, her hand immediately covering and her body slightly leaning backwards because of her laughter. Seulgi's now the one who's confused, despite being nervous, she waited patiently for her unnie to calm down and be composed.

“My Gosh, Seulgi, you shouldn't believe the things you hear from other students.” Irene's now wiping a few tears that she got from laughing so hard, Seulgi scratched her nape because of embarrassment and just kept shut.

“Anyway, I already told you, right? I like someone else.” 

“Yeah. Cat-like eyes, Chubby cheeks, slightly taller than you, and dances and sings well. In short, Jennie Kim. Unnie, I know it already, stop laughing.” Seulgi whined when Irene started laughing again.

“You're silly. It's not Jennie.”

“Then why did you give her chocolates?” Irene raised a brow making Seulgi back out and shut . 

“My cousin, Jisoo, is Jennie's girlfriend. Those were from Jisoo, I just passed it to Jennie since Jisoo couldn't come.” Seulgi's mouth opened but eventually closed it again after realizing she couldn't let more words to come out. Irene just watched in amusement.

“Then who's the person you like?”

“It's you.” Irene grinned. 

Of course, Kang Seulgi has cat-like eyes, chubby cheeks, she's slightly taller than Irene and she dances and sings well. Why didn't she think about that. 

“You're really dumb, Seulgi. And cute.” Irene chuckled when Seulgi still couldnt let a word out. She watched in amusement as Seulgi turned around just to pinch her face to be sure if she's dreaming or not.

“Seriously? Unni-”

“Stop calling me Unnie.” 

“But that's being disrespectful, Unni-”

“Call me Unnie again and you're not going to see me ever aga-”

“Bae Joohyun, Be my girlfriend.” Seulgi boldly asked, Irene's face started getting red after hearing Seulgi calling her by her korean name.

Of course, how can she deny it. When Seulgi's everything that she ever wanted.
