VIRAL LOVE Chapter 54 : CLUELESS “Ommo….damn it…my head….” Si-jin groans out loud as he starts to gain back consciousness after last night’s eventful game and celebration. His brain is pounding against his skull, his throat sore and nausea is hitting him like ocean waves…. Damn it all to hell. He’ll never drink again for the rest of his life. He lifts his hand to cover his eyes from the bright morning sun and groans again. Oh God, this is why he hates drinking…. What was he even thinking last night, drinking so much? Oh that’s right, he had scored a goal for Arsenal in his first comeback and it was in front of his beloved girlfriend so he’d thought he should celebrate…. Apparently by slowly killing himself with a horrific hangover. Is the room spinning? Is someone hammering something outside their building or is that sound coming from his own head? Maybe he should go back to sleep and wake up later. Waaay later. He closes his eyes and starts to drift off again--- “Good morning, handsome! Rise and shine! Chop chop chop!” The footballer whimpers when Mo-yeon’s melodious voice vibrates around his woozy brain. He clears his throat, wincing at the sand-papery feeling inside his mouth, his eyes still stubbornly closed. “Shhhhh, babe…….indoor voice…..” He points weakly to his head, “Hurts….” He only receives a girlish giggle in response. “Aigoo this poor drunk! Come on, get up! Look what I’ve made for you!” Sprawled across their bed, he’s definitely not planning to move any of his limbs any time soon. He reluctantly opens his eyes, groaning once more as he stares up at the celling of their flat. “Not….funny…..everything…hurts…” She just snorts in amusement. He forces himself to turn his head so he can look at his girlfriend, standing by the bed in her thick yellow oversize sweater and jeans, her hair up in a messy bun. Her face is bare without any make-up on, but it’s not like she needs it anyway. Not when she is blessed with that stunning smile. Even when he’s in the middle of the lousiest hangover ever existed she still manages to catch him off-guard with her breathtaking look. Man, how does she manage to pull that off? “Damn…” he mutters huskily under his breath as his eyes roam over her, “So gorgeous…” She just huffs good-naturedly before she sits down on the bed next to his prone body. There is a tray on her lap and on it is a tall glass of water, some painkiller and a steaming bowl of haejang-guk. She grabs his elbow and tries to pull him up. “Come on, honey, up. Let’s get this yummy soup and pain med inside you so you’ll feel better.” It takes quite an effort but he finally manages to sit against the headboard, wincing as his stomach lurches at the motion. He doesn’t even remember when was the last time he’d had a hangover this bad. And they didn’t even get to drink the good stuff like soju, haish. He stares as she holds the bowl filled with delicious smelling broth close to his face and chuckles when she playfully blows the steam towards his face. Aigoo, Mo-yeon is really cheerful today, he thinks to himself. Her cheeks are glowing and there’s a sparkle in her eyes, I wonder if something good had happened. She looks down and carefully spoons some of the hot soup before she lifts it up and gently blows on it. She nudges the spoon close to his lips, wordlessly encouraging him to eat it. His eyes are soft when their eyes meet. “Hangover soup?” She nods. He leans closer and opens his mouth and she smiles widely as she watches him eat. “Hmmm…. This is really good…” She beams at the praise and feeds him more. “It's good, right? It’s Appa’s recipe. He always has the worst hangovers so he taught me to make this for him.” He chuckles before wincing at the effect it does to his pounding head. He grabs the glass of water sitting on the tray. “It's delicious. You’re really the most perfect candidate for a wife, babe.” She stops moving and her face immediately turns pink as she blushes. He swallows the water and stares wonderingly at her rosy cheeks, confused at her reaction. “Babe? What’s wrong?” She bites her lower lip and watches him carefully. There is a shy hesitance in her eyes. “Last night…. Do you remember what happened last night, Si-jin?” He looks at her blankly. “What happened last night?” Her face immediately changes as she tries to swallow her disappointment. “You didn’t remember?” What the hell is going on, what happened last night… He furrows his brow in puzzlement before he looks down and notices that he is wearing his pajama instead of his clothes from last night. He abruptly looks up to his girlfriend’s disheartened face, his own face pale with shock. Oh. We didn’t....did we? I could never forgive myself if I dont remember that-
