VIRAL LOVE Chapter 39 : CHAOS PART 1 October 11th, 8.30 am “Yoon-gi Oppa, I’ve left my boyfriend for you. Your song is right, he and I’m meant to be yours.” He grins widely as the beautiful songwriter whispers shyly into his ear, feeling smug that she has finally given up, that she knows who she belongs to now. With him, of course. The famous Min Yoon-gi, idol and prince of K-pop (with 18 number one singles under his belt). “I’m glad you finally came to your sense, beautiful.” He waits for her reply, to thank him for deeming her good enough to be his one and only. She opens and he holds his breath to hear her melodious voice (as melodious as his own voice) but what comes out is a loud shrilled noise instead. “---Gahhh!!!!” Min Yoon-gi wakes up with a start, almost hitting his own face as he sits on his California king size bed. The image of sweet, innocent Kang Mo-yeon, so close and attainable in his dream bursts into tiny shredded pieces as reality kicks in. He glares at the phone sitting on the bedside table. “Ughh! Damn it!” It was just a dream. And it was so close this time! He almost got to kiss her! He looks at the clock, feeling his anger bubbling at the pesky sound the phone keeps on making. 8.30 am! Who dares to wake him up at 8.30 in the f—king morning? He usually goes to bed at 4 or 5 am in the morning and sleeps until afternoon, and everyone knows to not dare bother him before 2 pm at least. It’s what Madam Lulu said is best for his luck. From dawn to afternoon – it’s Min Yoon-gi’s beauty rest time. He scowls and pushes the luxurious purple silk bedsheet away from his body, feeling pissed at whomever is calling him and disturbing the sweet, sweet dream he was having. “What!” “S-sorry to bother you so early, Min Yoon-gi Nim.” It’s the voice of his timid assistant. “What do you want? It better be good if you don’t want me to fire you.” He growls lowly under his breath. “M-Manager Soo asked me to call you. H-he asked you to check the morning news.” Huh, his coward of a manager is too scared to call him himself, so he asked his assistant to do his dirty work for him? He knows it’s not the assistant’s fault for disturbing his sleep but he growls at her again anyway. “This better be worth it.” He hangs up on her without another word, imagining how she must be shaking in her boots and feeling a little bit better because of that. He lazily checks the screen of the phone for any new notification about himself before his eyes widen in shock. ---- “!” He can’t stop swearing as he stares at the pictures on Dispatch. It’s bad enough that his song has been kicked off from the first place on all music charts, and how everyone is still laughing at him; but what is truly driving him mad with anger are the pictures that are all over the net. The pictures of his girl and that rough jock of a footballer from that dumb movie premiere. He clenches his teeth hard as he stares at the way Yoo Si-jin is gripping Kang Mo-yeon possesively as they posed for the camera. It seems like they’re still going stronger than ever. "Damn it!" He had wanted Kang Mo-yeon from the moment he realized that she’s his lucky girl. He stopped going to the club because of her. He stopped sleeping around with his fangirls because of her. He had thought he would get her when they finally met at that children charity event, which was the only reason why he had agreed to attend such an unimportant event at the first place. And he almost got her until that pesky jackass interfered. So he had waited again, patiently, because he thought someone as delicate and artistic as Kang Mo-yeon would eventually get bored of a rough football player like Yoo Si-jin. When the news announced that Yoo Si-jin was moving to England, he had laughed out loud, thinking that luck is finally on his side, that it was finally his chance. So he called her and despite the way she was playing hard to get, he faithfully sent flowers every day. He even waited for her outside her studio a few times. But there were always people surrounding her, as if they had known that he would be there. Time is running out and he’s getting desperate so he had used the last resort to get her attention. She likes to gift people with songs, right? So he thought she would appreciate if he does the same. And so what if he had planned it just nicely to embarrass the footballer and gain new notoriety for his tour? That’s just a smart business decision. He grits his teeth as he watches a video of them talking to a reporter, Kang Mo-yeon blushing prettily as the rough jock told the reporter that there’s no where he would rather be but beside her. Madam Lulu said if he doesn’t get the pretty girl with number 11 by the end of the year that he’s going to run out of luck. And Min Yoon-gi does not run out of luck, ever. He looks at the calendar on the table. It’s already October now. He has two more months before the year ends. And he still hasn’t got the girl. He pauses, and looks at the calendar again, frowning a little to himself. Huh, today’s date is the 11th. October 11th, 10.30 am The news he got today has spoilt his mood so he’s no longer sleepy. He walks into his large walk-in closet to change from his pajama without even bothering to wash his face. He’s an idol, he always smells great, just ask his loyal fans. What should he wear today?
