Sabotage

Spoiled

Daehyun cowered behind Yongguk as they exited the plane at his father’s private airport. Screaming about how irresponsible and childish they had acted, Daehyun’s father’s face was red and he was sweating with the efforts of his own rage. Terrified, Daehyun hid his face against Yongguk’s back, feeling tears stinging at his eyes. The older man had been there to meet them the moment their plane had landed and was none too pleased with their impromptu time out of the country. Combined, their night in Paris and the flight time, they had been away for 3 days and that had apparently been three days too long.

“Oh I’m sorry.” Yongguk glowered at the angry man, his stance protective and his voice annoyed. “I didn’t realize that you had us under house arrest until the wedding. Maybe you should mention that next time. I thought you were well known for your strict and loophole free contracts. It seems if us staying in the country was so important it should have been something you addressed.”

“YOU-!” Before Daehyun’s father could start screaming again, Yongguk held up one hand, the other gently holding Daehyun’s wrist.

“It wont happen again. But do let us know if there’s anything else we need to abide by.” Yongguk was so calm but Daehyun himself was shaking, barely holding back a panic attack. “Now Daehyun and I would like to go eat. Don’t worry. We’ll be sure to get plenty of good publicity while we’re out.” With a soft tug, Daehyun felt himself being led away by his husband, into Yongguk’s awaiting car. Once the car doors closed between them and his father, the stress slowly began to siphon away.

“I’ll never stop being impressed with how you handle him, Yongguk.” Sighing, Daehyun give his lover a deep kiss before sinking into his seat, closing his eyes. “He scares the out of me.”

“You don’t have to worry about him anymore, Daehyun.” With a reassuring squeeze on Daehyun’s leg, Yongguk started driving. Opening his eyes slightly, he watched Yongguk drive, admiring him for a long moment before he spoke.

“What did I do to deserve you, Bang Yongguk?” Leaning slightly in his seat, Daehyun rested his head on the other man’s broad shoulder. It was hard to worry about his father when literally everything he ever wanted in life was coming true with the only man he really wanted it to come true with.

“I think you have that backwards.” Chuckling, Yongguk wiggled his shoulder playfully as Daehyun pouted at him. “I’m the one who seems to be blessed here.”

“You’re crazy.” Laughing, Daehyun batted at the moving appendage and attempted to rest his head again when a loud sound filed the car.

“.” Groaning, Yongguk glanced down at his chest where a light was glowing through the thin fabric of a pocket. “Can you put my phone on speaker? Its in my shirt pocket.”

“Yeah, of course.” Reaching into Yongguk’s pocket, he pulled out the device and accepted the call, holding the phone closer to Yongguk as he put it on speaker phone.

“Hello?” Barely able to get the greeting out, Yongguk was nearly cut off by a loud, distressed sound through the speaker.

“I’m so sorry, Yongguk! I tried to stop him!” Himchan’s voice was strained with an emotion Daehyun couldn’t exactly place but it frightened him. A knot began to form in the pit of his stomach. What was happening?

“Himchan? What the are you talking about?” Annoyed, Yongguk rolled his eyes and Daehyun wondered if his lover’s friend was usually a drama queen.

“Jongup! I’m talking about ing Moon ing Jongup!” The name brought a hush through the car and the temperature seemed to drop drastically. For a moment the breath in Daehyun’s lungs refused to move and he felt dizzy. Jongup?

“Is he okay?!” Shouting out the words without meaning to, Daehyun was overwhelmed with fear that their breakup had been too much for Jongup and he had hurt himself.

“What happened?!” Yongguk reached over to squeeze Daehyun’s knee and Daehyun knew he was trying to calm and reassure him, which was more kindness then he deserved because nobody would blame Yongguk if he got mad that Daehyun was so concerned for his ex boyfriend.

“He took pictures of himself and Daehyun, messages, and he went to the media claiming he’s Daehyun’s secret boyfriend and your marriage is a scam!” Himchan shrieked through the phone and Daehyun froze, his eyes darting to the cell he held tightly in his hand. He had to have heard that wrong. Jongup wouldn’t ruin his life like that. He wouldn’t.

“He WHAT?!” Yongguk growled as Daehyun’s phone began to ring. “Daehyun don’t answer that!” Obediently, Daehyun ignored the call, not bothering to see who was calling, not wanting to face any of the people it could be.

“Yongguk… I… I…” Starting to breath heavily, his hands were shaking and he nearly dropped the phone, face already slick with tears. Why was this happening? Why wasn’t he allowed to be happy?

“!” Making a sharp turn in the car, the tires squealed as Yongguk began driving toward toward the side of town Jongup lived. “It’s not your fault, baby. You’re okay. I’ll fix this. I will.”

“Dad’s going to kill me… I… Oh god, Yongguk…” Sobbing, Daehyun managed to place the phone down between them before he curled in on himself, trying to protect himself from the harsh world around him.

“I’ll handle this. I’ll handle all of it…” Yongguk was gently rubbing Daehyun’s hair as he drove and he knew the other man was doing his best to keep him calm “Himchan, you’re babysitting Daehyun at your place and nothing better ing happen to my husband or so help me I will break all your ing bones.”

“Wait. What? Why?!” Protesting, Himchan sounded horrified that Yongguk would even suggest such a thing. Daehyun wasn’t exactly excited for that plan either.”

“It isn’t safe for him anywhere else.” Sounding almost desperate, pleading, Yongguk started down a road that Daehyun wasn’t familiar with. “Please help me protect him.”

“Fine. I’ll do this for you this once.” With an audible sigh, Himchan gave in and Daehyun felt a sinking feeling. He didn’t trust Himchan but Yongguk was right. He wasn’t safe anywhere else.

“Good. We’ll be there soon.” Hanging up, Yongguk pulled over in front of a dusty looking building. An ancient noodle shop with a quaint little house attached. Daehyun felt Yongguk’s strong arms pull him against his chest, cradling him there a moment. “Go inside. Himchan will make you some food. I’ll be back for you soon.”

“What are… What are you going to do?” Pulling away slightly, Daehyun looked up at his husband as he tried to fight off another sob. Everything was falling apart and it was all his fault.

“What needs to be done.” Yongguk gave him a soft kiss and a reassuring smile. “Everything will be okay. I promise.” Daehyun didn’t have much he could do except put his faith in whatever plan his husband had.

After handing Daehyun off to Himchan, Yongguk nearly sped to Jongup’s apartment, beating his fist on the door hard enough to cause minor damage to the wood. This was only his first stop but it felt like the most important on. He was livid, he was on the war path, but this one was for Daehyun.

“What?” Jongup snapped as he opened the door. Before the could slam the door in his face, Yongguk grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the hallway wall hard enough to leave a dent in the cheap plaster. It was all he could do not to hit Jongup, knowing how Daehyun would feel.

“You worthless piece of !” Growling, his face close to Jongup’s, all he felt was a burning anger that fueled him to slam the other against the wall again.

“I should have guessed you’d show up.” Grunting from the impact of his back against the wall, Jongup glared up at him, a smug smile starting to spread across his lips. “You really thought I wouldn’t fight for him?” It was official. Yongguk hated nobody in this world more then he hated Moon Jongup in that moment.

“Fight for him?!” Exasperated, Yongguk shook his head, unable to believe that Jongup could be so stupid and selfish. “You’re ing destroying his life! He’s having a breakdown right now! I had to take his phone so he didn’t have a panic attack every time it rang!”

“I love him, Yongguk, and what we had deserves to be known and not denied.” Jongup pushed him away, something like regret flashing in his eyes. “I don’t deserve to be forgotten.”

“Leave my ing husband out of your bull.” Yongguk hit the wall beside Jongup’s head, satisfied as the man in his grip flinched and bits of plaster rained down to the floor. “I’m going to fix this for his sake but if you do anything like this again I will kill you and nobody will ever find your body.”

“You two aren’t married yet! I have time!” Jongup’s argument made him laugh and he wanted so badly to flaunt his wedding ring in Jongup’s face but he held back. There was no way he would disrespect his marriage or Daehyun like that. And there was no way he would give Jongup more ammunition against them.

“You’re wrong.” Was all Yongguk said before he turned to leave. He had more important things to do then argue with that worthless scumbag. Daehyun was counting on him.

His next stop was the mansion. Damage control started with Daehyun’s biggest threat, his father. He could hear the man shouting as he exited his car, clearly enraged by the news. It wasn’t going to be easy but he would do whatever it took to make everything better.

“I DON’T CARE! YOU BETTER ING FIND THAT AND BRING HIM BACK!” Mr. Jung was screeching into his phone as Yongguk entered his office, slamming the door behind him.

“I trust you’re not speaking about Daehyun that way.” Glaring, Yongguk crossed his arms over his chest. “Hang up the phone, we have to talk.” Frustrated, the older man shot off his phone and sat in his chair behind his desk.

“What the did that idiot do?!” Shouting, Daehyun’s father slammed his fists on his desk, shoulders rigid with fury. If he got any angrier, the man would have a heart attack in front of him.

“Daehyun didn’t do anything wrong. He’s been away from Jongup since our engagement and Jongup is angry.” Rolling his eyes, Yongguk kept his calm, leaning against the door. “I know how to do damage control. But if you continue to treat Daehyun like , you wont be protected in this.”

“Just tell me what your plan is.” Seeming to realize that Yongguk was serious, the man took a deep breath and pretended to regain a pleasant composure. It still pissed Yongguk off but it was better than nothing.

“You’re going to make a call and you’re going to set up a press conference in my and Daehyun’s floor of the mansion so we can talk about our relationship and clarify things about Jongup.” Pushing off the door< Yongguk towered over then man in his chair, giving him a cocky grin. “We’ll show how in love we are and we’ll dispel any doubts about our marriage in a way that Jongup’s bull can’t ruin it anymore. Am I understood?” He was proud of his plan. He wasn’t going to fight Jongup because Daehyun was worth more then something so petty, but he was going to let the world know just how much Daehyun meant to him and how much he wanted from their life together.

“I’ll make the call.” Conceding to Yongguk’s plan, the man retrieved his phone again. “Go get my son and be ready in no more than 2 hours.”

“Yes sir. Thank you.” Pretending as though Daehyun’s father had any choice other than to accept Yongguk’s terms, Yongguk bowed to him and let the room. He was going to go get his husband and he was going to get him cleaned up, make sure he was fed, and they were going to tell the whole world how in love they were if they had to. Jongup wasn’t going to allowed to cause Daehyun pain any longer. Nobody was, not as long as Yongguk was around and he had no intention of leaving Daehyun’s side ever again.

Chapter 17: I'm very happy, Daehyun was always with Yongguk from the start and as much as jongup loves him their love is too thin to compare. Saying that jongup doesn't deserve to be with daehyun is a lie but yongguk and daehyun have been through thick and thin. Yongguk is willing to let daehyun choose his own happiness but jongup is the one holding him back and chaining him to his heart. Loving someone is not a fault, but the fault lies when you keep that love for only yourself
