Short Fiction for Dahyun
Falling in love with Sana wasn’t planned. Falling in love with a girl was not in the plans at all. It was not the picture she had envisioned when she was young speaking of marriage. But here Dahyun was, completely smitten by a girl that had once fought her.
They were opposites, complete polar opposites of magnets that held them bound by the forces of attraction. She was a wonder of conundrum, which Dahyun couldn’t exactly piece, but at the same time she could so easily read. Her small ticks in the day, her silent stirs in the night, and her gentle hum for affection. She was her favourite conundrum.
Dahyun’s finger traces the length of Sana’s nose, and stops at her lips with a hesitant smile. She pauses to marvel in the beauty that was hers to call mine.
She was the calm after the storm.
The warmth following the wind.
The colour after the rain.
She was the moon to her night.
“I love you.” Dahyun says, in spite of herself.
“I know,” she teases with a haughty smile that causes Dahyun to chuckle in defeat.
“I love you too,” Sana surrenders.
Her heart sighs in relief, “I know” mouth twitching to a grin failing to be suppressed.
