~Mai Lee’s POV~

After I invited her into the house my family greeted her and made her feel welcome. Then we went into the room to talk more.

“Yeah I was crying at the sight of the accident. And after all that you just have a sprained wrist and some bruises.” I said to her.

“Yeah, I don’t think I can go two days without dancing. Let alone 2 weeks.” Sunny sighed in disbelief.

“Well you don’t want your wrist to get worse than it already is.” I tried to explain to her.

“It’s the only thing that gets me by in life. Especially now that I lost my job and it keeps me connected to my parents.”

“Your parents were dancers?” I asked in surprise.

“The best, I guess dancing is just in my blood.”

“Yeah I’m not much of a dancer. I’m more of a singer and Taehyun raps.”

“Did you grow up with Taehyun?”

“Yeah we’ve know each other since we were little kids. Our parents are close friends as well. He’s my best friend.” I smiled.

“Your family is very nice and your home is beautiful.” She said in awe.

“Thanks. You can come over any time you’d like. I’ve told my family about you numerous times and they always tell me to bring you over. They wanna help too.”

“Awe, they don’t have to. I’ve been living like this for a long time. It’s nothing new.”

“Yeah but now you have me and Taehyun and now my family.”

“You know I always hated the idea of people taking care of me, but now I actually think I may need it. As far as support and comfort when I’m down. I’ve got the cleaning and cooking part covered.”

“Great! What can you cook?” Brian interrupted as he jumped onto my bed.

“Mai who’s this?” Asked Dustin as he entered my doorway.

“We didn’t know you had a friend over.” Brady observed.

“Sunny this is my brother Brady and my older cousins Brian and Dustin.” I introduced.

“Such American names.”

“Never got that one before.” Brian laughed.

“No, I didn’t mean to be rude. I just

“It’s okay; we all have Korean names too. But since we’re living in the states now, we went by our American names.” Brian explained.

“Dustin’s Korean name is Dong Min, Brian is Dong Sun they’re twins by the way, Brady’s is Jin Sang, and I’m just Mai or Mai Lee. Doesn’t matter.” I explained.

“I’m Sunny or Eunsun.”

“Oh so you’re the poor little girl Mai’s been talking about.” Brian says.

“You’re really pretty for a poor girl.” Dustin complimented?

“She’s not poor. She just needs a family to be with for the time being.”

“What happened to yours?” Brady asked curiously.

“Brady!”

“What I was just asking. Jeez!”

“It’s okay, my parents died 3 years ago and the rest of my family lives in Seoul.”

“You can move in with us!” Brady suggested.

“No, I . . . I can’t.” Sunny stammered.

“Yeah that’s a great idea.” I agreed.

~My POV~

Move in with them? Is she crazy?!

“Come on we’ve got plenty of room.” Brian urged.

“Yeah and my aunt and uncle are good people, they love you already.” Dustin persuaded.

“It’d be great, then you wouldn’t have to be alone all the time.” Brady mentions.

“I don’t know guys.” I object. “Wouldn’t it be a little weird considering you barely know me?”

“No, our home is always open to those in need.” Brady tells me.

Wow this is little weird, how many people have they taken in? They make it seem like I'm living on the streets! I'm perfectly capable of living on my own. I've been doing it for 3 years and counting. It is a tempting offer though . . .

“It’s not like you’re a masked murderer or anything. Are you?” Brian questioned.

And that ruined it. Masked murderer are you serious!

“Of course not you fool!” Mai Lee laughed. “Sunny, I know this is all new to you but you should definitely give it some thought.”

I looked around at all the anticipated eyes. They all looked so determined for me to stay here why?

“A real family, isn't that all you ever wanted?”

A real family is all I ever wanted. People to be loved by, so why do I get the feeling there’s something more?
