Waking up before the alarm, Kyujong called up room service once more for them to bring up another set of meal similar to what they brought five hours ago. After putting the phone down, he made his way to the room and checked on Byul who was still fast asleep on the bed.

"Fever's gone down." He said removing his hand from her forehead. Checking the time, he contemplated on waking her up now or letting her sleep a few more minutes but then, her eyes started to flutter.

"Hmm?" Byul started looking around the room and then pushed the blanket off herself as she sat up on the edge of the bed which made her felt dizzy.

"Woah. Slow down." Kyujong chuckled and helped steady her when she attempted to stand up. "What's happening? Where are you going?"

"Bathroom." She slurred still in a haze.

Knowing she is still sick, he carried the girl to the bathroom then closed the door and waited for her by the door until she was done. He heard the toilet flushing and heard the door knob being twisted open but what he didn't expect to hear was her gasp and a muffled squeal. Worried that she might have slipped or hurt herself in someway, he opened the door only to be greeted by her horrified expression and another squeal.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He asked holding her shoulders and that's when he noticed how she was slouched a little with her hand pulling down on the shirt to cover her legs. "Oh. Oh!" He grabbed the bathrobe from the wrack and wrapped her with it. "Much better?"

"T-thank you." Byul mumbled hiding her blushing face away from him.

"Come on. Let's get you warmed up." He carried her without much hesitation and instead of bringing her back to the bedroom, he took her by the couch and then covered her with the blanket he was using earlier.

"Medicine?" Byul asked after wondering why he brought her there and not back in the bed where she badly wanted to be.

"Eoh. You'll have to eat first though so will just wait for the food to-" He didn't get to finish as they heard a knock on the door and sure enough, the attendant arrived with food in the trolley.

Unlike the first two times where he had to force her to eat, this time, Byul voluntarily ate on her own but it was taking time and he didn't mind at all as he himself enjoyed a bowl of the chicken noodle soup. As they ate, Kyujong made some small talks to cut the awkwardness around them and to help her ease up on him as he noticed that she still had some apprehension towards him. When they were done, he asked her to wait another ten minutes before she could take her medication.

In the mean time, Kyujong felt determined to have his curiousity quenched on how she ended up running away from those two men yesterday.

"You don't have to answer that if you don't want to." He added as her expression turned grim.

There was a full minute of silence before she opened and said. "Can you tell me your story first?"

"Huh?"

"You already know the second part of my story and I can tell you the first part but..." Byul looked up and met his gaze. "Will you tell me yours first?"

Kyujong gave her a curious smile. She really doesn't seem to recognize me. He thought.

Being an actor who had acted into multiple television drama series and various movies, he hadn't expected her to recognize who he was due to the state she was in earlier but as her mind cleared, it dawned on him that this woman really had no idea who he was. The more he thought about it, the more fascinated he was on wanting to find out who this girl is.

"You know where we are?" He asked and she shook her head no. "Okay. Well, we are on the hotel suite where me and my supposed wife were to spent our honeymoon."

He chuckled as her expression turned from shock to confused. "To tell you the full story, she and I were supposed to get married two days ago. But because I found out she and my best of the best friend - who also happened to be my bestman by the way - were or maybe are still in the midst of an affair and even met up couple weeks prior to the wedding, I ended it right at the altar."

"Also, she made this big lie about being pregnant which if I think about it now, is the main reason why I asked her to marry me in the first place." Byul looked dumbfounded. "Now, Byulyi-ssi, how about you tell me yours?"

Taking the medicine first, she swallowed hard then faced him. "Y-you're not making it up are you?"

"No." He answered.

Reading his expression, Byul couldn't not see any indication that the man infront of him was saying nothing but the truth. Taking note of how he had helped her since yesterday, she knew she owe it to the man to tell him the truth of how this happened to her since he is already involved in the strangest way.

"My mother set me up as a replacement for this supposed seminar-workshop her company assigned her to attend but because she had some pending work to do, she asked for my help and with me not wanting to risk causing another rift in our renewed relationship, I said yes." She let out a mocking laugh then turned to him. "Little did I know that when I arrived here, those two men were supposed to be waiting to take me but because I overheard their conversation and that the bigger man was stupid enough to mention my name and show his friend a picture of me, I managed to runaway before they can take me. Now, here I am."

It was the summarized version but because of the medicine, it was the best she could do.

"But why were they supposed to take you?" Kyujong asked. "I heard what they had planned to do to you but I want to know why."

"Did you get a good look at the big burly man before we left the airport?" She asked.

"Eoh."

"My mother sold me to him for fifty thousand USD. I was supposed to be his mail ordered bride." She said.

Kyujong had nothing to say to that besides a curse he muttered through his breath. Wracking his thoughts, he decided not to dwell on that subject and put it pasT for the moment. The last thing he needed for her to do is bringing up unnecessary memories which could just stress her out.

"Enough talking. Want to soak up some sun before you go to bed?" He asked. giving her s small smile.

Byul shook her head. "I'm feeling quite dizzy. I think I just need a couple more hours of rest."

"Okay." Without hesitation, he carried her bridal style as she tried to get up herself.

"I-I can walk." She couldn't help but blush.

"I noticed you're a bit of a cluts so I'm not riskng it." He said chuckling as her face got even redder. He getly laid her to bed then covered her with the sheets. "Get more rest. I'll wake you when the doctor gets here."

"What are you doing?" Kyujong asked coming out of the shower with a towel around his neck and finding her seated on the edge of the bed with a couple of things scattered accordingly on the bed. From some pair of clothings, he noticed various other things as an old novel, a pouch of what he assumed as make-up or toiletries, a ziplock of snacks (or what's left of it), and another smaller pouch containing what he assumed as gadget items due to the wire sticking out.

Byul didn't look up staring at the folder inher hand flipping each page one after the other then back again after she's done with it all.

Curious, he knelt down and held his hand out. "May I?"

She didn't even look at him as she handed the folder. She just kept her eye on the damned compile wishing for it to disappear.

Opening the folder, he's met with the familiar characters and stamp of a birthcertificate, then he turned to the next pages and with every page, he recognized all form of documents piled up in the folder. How could he not? It hadn't been that long when he had to process these kinds of documents once, only to have the time and effort wasted in the last minute.

"She had it all planned." Byul muttered got up, grabbed some of her belongings on the bed and went straight to the bathroom.

Kyujong followed her movements and could only sigh feeling sorry for the girl. Picking out his phone and made a call.

"Hello?"

"Hey, dad. I need your help."

It took her a while staying under the warmth and comfort of the shower, letting it wash the remnants of tears that she couldn't help but let out. It took minutes later before she finally was done finally dressing herself with her tank top and a new pair of leggings she had originally intended to use as a sleep wear. Seeing as she hadn't thought of packing an extra shirt on her bag, she grabbed the robe she used earlier and use it to cover herself once more.

Back into the room, she didn't see Kyujong so she thought he must've left to give her a bit of privacy and she felt thankful that he had thought about it.

She then began arranging her things back into her bag, placing it back on the chair before going out of the room.

"Hey." She greeted taking a seat on the couch next to the sofa.

"Hey." Kyujong greeted back. "You think you're okay to walk down fo lunch?"

"I think so." She answered. "It'd  be nice to get a bit of exercise too."

"Okay. I'll get you a jacket." He said and she couldn't protest knowing she had no other clothes.

Minutes later, they sat at the corner lounge in the hotel restaurant and ordered their food. While they wait, Byul heard a phone ring triggering a memory making her gasp.

"Kyujong-ssi, I-uhm..." He chuckled at her shyness and hesitation. "You know you can just call me oppa. I am older than you by five years."

"Eh?! You're thirty?" She stopped herself but it was too late and Kyujong just laughed at her antics. "Sorry."

"Call me oppa and it'll be okay." He said and she just made a face. "Anyway, what were you going to ask me?"

"C-can I borrow your phone. I really need to make a phone call but I forgot to take my phone with me." He handed his phone without hesitation. She said thanks then attempted to make the phone call elsewhere when he told her to make it there.

Her call lasted a while but enough time just as the food arrived when it ended.

"Wow. Who was that?" Kyujong chuckled arranging the food infront of her.

Byul glared at him with a pink tint on her cheeks. "An unnie. Thanks for the food." She said before he could ask anymore questions.

After lunch, since Byul seemed much healthier than earlier that day, he asked her if she wanted to go out and buy some much needed clothes and ofcourse she eagerly answered yes. They headed to a nearby boutique where they sold practically everything and considering the size of the inside, they should reconsider calling it something else.

Having picked up a couple of jeans and sweats that fit her, she headed for the shirt section while Kyujong stayed close until she asked him to turn his back or go else where for a while. He didn't understand what she was trying to say until he noticed the section they were in and couldn't help but get flustered before turning away and taking the clothe she picked up to the counter to have it checked out first. When she joined him minutes later, he turned away making some of the staff laugh at their antics.

As they headed out, Byul kept tugging on some of the bags wanting to carry some of it but he won't let her.

"You're still recovering. I'm not letting you straing yourself." He said reminding her and she just grunted in annoyance. "Grunt all you want. You seem exhausted as it is."

And right he was, not even five minutes when she plopped down on the sofa, she fell asleep with her head bobbing. Kyujong didn't want to disturb her sleep but he also didn't want to let her sleep in an uncomfortable position. So, being a gentleman as he is, he carried her to bed and took the jacket off her before covering her with the duvet.

With her asleep, he made another phone call for a meet up then scribbled a note living it on top of her phone before heading off but not without hanging the DND sign on the door too make sure not one of the staff goes in.

"Hey, dad." Kyujong got up from his chair and greeted a man who seemed to be in his mid sixties.

After making the call earlier, he arrived at a cafe just a few minutes walk away from the hotel not wanting to be far away in case Byul calls.

"Well. Well. If it isn't the runaway groom." The older bulkier man bellowed a laugh greeting his son with a big hug. "So. You here to share about your experience?"

Kyujong raised a brow. "Dad."

"Alright. Alright. Enough with the third degree. Sheesh. You try to make people laugh and they just blow you off." The old man muttered fishing his phone out and reading the message he just received.

On the other hand, Kyujong watched as his father's amused expression fell. "What is it, dad?"

*N: Hihihaheho

Yuuup... Sigh... Reading the last part, I'm sure I didn't put the details I thought I did...

Well. That's what happens when you decide to go editing and adding bits and pieces except you actually don't when you're half asleep.

Anyway... Enough with the rambling me...

Hope you guys enjoy despite my idiocy :D

Chapter 23: This couple...! So soft, especially at the scene where they were looking at the baby bump. I really like how Kyujong knows what's on Byul's mind. I enjoy the parallels to previous chapters. Looking forward to the next one!
