"You son of a-!" Yongsun didn't finish her sentence but her hands ended up reaching towards Kyujong's shirt pulling him with harsh and pushing him hard on the wall before giving him a good slapping on his left cheek and gutted him as hard as she can.

The man hadn't even taken two steps inside the Nam family home when he was greeted by the young missus in a way he had never before. Maybe in a drama once but even there he hadn't felt the pain as he does now. This was by far the most terrifying greeting he's ever encountered in one of his bestfriends' home.

"Yongsun!" A very shocked Eric came running towards his wife holding her back before she could do more damage to the star. "What are you doing? What's going on?" He asked his wife who seemed determined to murder the man had she not been locked in his embrace. Turning to his friend he asked, "You good, hyung?"

"Uh, y-yeah." Kyujong answered getting up and brushing himself off. "Before you let her go, can I ask why??"

Eric turned to his wife only to see her giving his friend a deadly glare. Turning to his injured friend, he said, "Maybe you should come back next ti-"

"No." Yongsun interrupted taking a few calming breathes. "I asked you to come so we could talk and we are going to talk."

Kyujong seemed a little apprehensive for the fear that this petite woman is trying to fool him so that her husband would let her go and she'd just go at him again. Though doubtful, he still agreed to this talk and waited for the woman to take a couple of steps ahead before following her.

"Uhm, can you tell me what's this about?" He cautiously asked and Yongsun stopped as he did, not wanting to take another step closer to her for the fear that she might reach out and gauge his eyes out or harm him in another way.

With a dramatic pause, Yongsun then gave her answer and for sure, it was more unexpected than what she had done to him earlier. Even her husband who stayed silent on the side seemed utterly shocked and confused.

"Sorry. What?" He asked thinking he misheard what she said.

"From what I heard, you're an idiot not deaf." Yongsun's harsh remarks didn't faze him as the shock from her earlier answer still affected him.

Not waiting for anyone, she walked on and opened the door to Eric's office and the two men followed but not before Eric stopped him and asked, "Hyung, I thought you didn't go through with the wedding?"

"I-" Kyujong looked at his friends eyes and answered, "I didn't. Atleast... Atleast not with her."

After having explained to Eric everything that's been going on with him for the past couple of months, he then turned to Yongsun wanting to get some answers.

"How is she?" He was almost afraid to ask but he really wanted -needed to know.

Sitted across him, Yongsun sat authoritively with her icy glare contemplating on not answering his question wanting to torture the poor man some more. "Aside from feeling pathetic after a long wait for your call and suddenly receiving it only to feel herself pitiful and add to the fact that she found out about your ex claiming you to be the father of her child, what do you think?"

The sarcasm didn't bite him but what she said last, did. "Wait. What? S-she knows about that? H-how?"

"You're not talking about Jo Ara, are you?" Eric asked looking back and forth at his wife and friend. "But I thought you said..."

"She wasn't." Kyujong couldn't help but emphasize the word.

"But she is now." Yongsun said copying his tone. "And it doesn't matter how she found out. What matters now is how you're going to fix this mess before she does."

"What do you mean 'before she does'?" He asked. "And I've already done something about it. I stil am. What is she planning on doing?"

Yongsun couldn't stop herself from glaring at the man. "With a society like ours, where fatherless children are frowned upon, what do you think Byul's choices are? There are a few but to her, it seems she's already made her mind up on one."

Kyujong sat straight up hoping that she's not saying what he thinks she's trying to say. "She's not... No... You're lying. She can't possibly think that!"

"Divorce?" Eric muttered.

"Do you really think I'd lie about something like this?" Yongsun answered raising a brow challenging him. "There are a lot of options on how to handle this but because there's a child involved..." She looked away for a moment not wanting him to see how she felt for the younger girl. She then faced him once more but her voice sounded gentler betraying her hard look. "Byul can be very rational when she wants to be especially if there's a child involved."

"And that means divorce?!" Kyujong couldn't help but raise his voice, his hand clutching on the sofa arm rest tightly. "It's not even mine, for goodness' sake!"

The couple infront of him looked surprised not by his outburst but by what he said.

"How is it not yours? She was your ex. You and her could've..." Eric didn't finish knowing he gets the idea.

"It's not mine." Kyujong said through gritted teeth and then took a few breathers to calm himself.

"Then whose?" Eric asked. "Like I said-"

"Jung Seunjung."

Months ago, after calling his friend telling him that the wedding was off, Kyujong merely gave the reason that he had been lied and manipulated to by her ex faking a pregnancy to get him to marry her and not telling him the other reason. Now, with what could possibly happen, he felt desperate and knowing that by telling them that other reason, he could gain their help in preventing his wife from going through with her plans.

"How do you plan on telling Byul then?" Yongsun asked her demeanour more calm compared to earlier.

"I need to meet up with her but she won't call me back." He answered feeling quite dejected.

"Why not just go and see her? She is your wife." Eric, being a good friend, suggested but his wife had something else to say. "With how you treated her, do you really think she'll call you back that easily?"

Yongsun's right. He thought and reminded himself of how he ignored the calls of his wife. It was another reason for him to feel down.

"Hyung, just go see her." Eric insisted.

"No." Kyujong said shaking his head. "If we are to meet, it has to be on her terms."

"Then I guess, it's really your loss." Yongsun said shaking her head and got up leaving the room.

"Boss unnie, you should go rest. I'll finish that off for you." Yuju, one of Byul's student part-timers, said taking off her apron for her and moved her aside so she could continue washing the dishes.

"No. It's okay. I'll finish it. You still have things to do." Byul said trying to take over but the girl was persistent telling her that the customers are already being taken care of so she took the girl's advice. "I'll be at the back then. I might fall asleep so just wake me up before the crowd starts piling up, okay?"

"Yes, Boss!" Yuju teasingly answered with a salute and Byul left amused.

Through a private door where only she, her friends and her staffs know how to open, she walked in or more like out into her enclosed mini garden and laid down on the hammock she deliberately placed in there for times where she or her staff members just want to lie down during a break. It didn't even take her that long to fall asleep what with all the stress dampening her spirit.

Byul didn't know how long she slept but it was safe to say that her girls decided not to wake her up to help with the afternoon traffic. Still feeling lethargic, she decided to sleep a little bit more, slowly moving to reposition herself when she heard people talking in the background. Her mind's still a little hazy but she recognized one voice as coming from one of her girl friends.

"Hyejinnie?" Byul mumbled groggily with her eyes still closed but now lying on her back.

"Oh, unnie? You up?" Hyejin got off her chair and moved the lacy curtain used to keep some privacy to whoever is sleeping in there.

"Nope. You're up. I'm down." She lazily joked with a wide grin on her face showing her bunny teeth.

"Aiyoo~, seriously. And I thought Wheein's the uncle-like in this group." Hyejin said and Byul chuckled lazily and heard someone else chuckle but thought it was just her still day dreaming.

"Don't pretend you don't like it." She said opening her eyes and raising her hands up. "Help me up?"

With her usual blank but totally chic expression, rather than pulling her hands up, Hyejin grabbed Byul's feet and let it hang on the side of the hammock and then finally pulling her up. "And I'm supposed to be the baby. Tch."

Byul only chuckled some more hugging Hyejin by the waist. "When did you get here?"

"Some minutes ago. I brought a friend but you were sleeping." Hyejing answered.

"Hyuna? Zico?"  Byul  asked and Hyejin had to pry her off and really shake her awake.

"No. Remember that guy I told you about? The one who's like a real oppa and treats me like a sister?" Hyejin asked and watched as the older grinned.

"Ah! You mean that oppa who you think is just an oppa but is actually someone who's pining-over-you-guy oppa." Byul teased and then she heard another chuckled but this time she was sure that it didn't come from Hyejin. A little embarassed that whoever it was must've heard what she just said, she looked up at Hyejin and quietly asked if the person they're talking about was the same one who chuckled.

"Feeling embarassed now, are we?" Hyejin smirked earning her a smack on her backside. that really didn't faze her. "Come on. I'll introduce you to him. You might even forget that ahjussi of your when you see him."

Doubt it. She thought and scoffed sourly.

"Okay, sour face. Get up and let me introduce the both of you." Hyejin said pulling her up and pulling her from the shades of the curtain. "Oppa. This is-"

"Byulyi." Finished the man who looked absolutely stunned.

Byul on the other hand froze as she heard that familiar voice and slowly raised her head to be face to face with the man she's been longing for.

"Huh? You know... You two know each other?" A puzzled Hyejin asked looking at this guy friend and then to her unnie. It took her a minute to piece it together but when she saw how both mirrored each others emotions with the exception of a glint of anger in Byul's eyes, she gasped. "No way... Don't tell me."

"Ahn Hyejin." Byul's tone became serious as she let go of the maknae's hand. "You want to meet ahjussi? Well. You already know him."

"Byulyi-ah." Kyujong muttered but before he could take a step closer to her, she stormed off slamming the door behind her.

Byul didn't stop and just ran out of there before she could hear anything come out of his mouth. Getting out of her cafe, she hailed a taxi and headed of to one place where she knew she could hide. A place she'll be able to think and cry without anyone disturbing her. And cry she did until her eyes have swollen up and the sun starting to set.

Resting her head on her father's headstone and watching the stars, she started asking questions. "You always told me never cry because of any man but look at me now. If you were still here, you'd probably be scolding at me right now and yelling at me to take you to him so that you could teach him a thing or two." She laughed a little remembering that one time in highschool where she came home crying after her very first heartbreak and her dad doing just that back then. And then her mood became sullen once more. "But then again... You're not here, anymore."

Byul couldn't blame him though. Death is inevitable and everyone is bound to meet there maker one way or another.

"What should I do now, dad?" She sighed.

"Here's a suggestion; don't storm out."

Byul shrieked before she could stop herself. Turning to face whoever it was, she saw Yongsun standing just next to her with flowers in one hand and a plastic bag on the other.

"Be quiet. It's not good to be screaming in places like this." Said the older girl as she knelt down beside her and made her move aside so that she could place the offerings.

First, she placed the flowers in the center and then opened the bottle of soju and poured some of it on his headstone and on the ground.  Byul then took an orange from the plastic bag and peeled it open then placed it next to the flowers.

They sat for a while saying their respects quietly until Yongsun spoke. "Uncle, I hope you don't mind but Byul and I are going now."

Byul didn't protest and said her goodbye to her father before leaving with the older girl. None of them spoke until they got inside Yongsun's car and the older girl handed her a pair of shades from the glove compartment.

"You look like a chipmunk with swollen eyes."

*N: Hi, so here's how the girls got to knowKyujong. (I didn't include it in because it'll be longer than it should be.)

Hyejin worked with him on a drama she cameoed on and Kyujong made sure to stick with her and protect her from the wolves;

Yongsun knew of him when Eric introduced her to his group of friends;

And PuppWheein knew him through Hyejin.

Argh!! I'm going nuts this days...

Hope you liked it! <3

Chapter 23: This couple...! So soft, especially at the scene where they were looking at the baby bump. I really like how Kyujong knows what's on Byul's mind. I enjoy the parallels to previous chapters. Looking forward to the next one!
