Park Jiminie

Girl meets Boy

I woke up next morning feeling slightly refreshed as the sunlight poured through the cracks of the curtains. Rubbing my eyes I stretched before taking a shower. I remembered that I was meeting up with Jimin today, and I honestly felt too drained to put up with his childish behaviour. I groaned, only to choke on water as my mouth gaped, "I should be more careful god damn it!" I coughed.

Drying myself off, I rummaged through my wardrobe, debating what to wear for today.

"Mum!" I yelled, in hope she'd hear me.

"What is it?" She replied.

"What's the weather for today?"

"It says it'll be nice and sunny today dear."

"Okay, thanks!" I beamed. Thank god it'll be nice when we're going out, "hm, I wonder where he's taking us..."

I decided on wearing blue shorts with a tank top; I tied up my hair into a messy bun and slipped some sandals on, "now... makeup," I sighed, cursing the way my face appeared, "urgh, I'll just do something simple."

"Darling! Someone is asking to see you!" My mum exclaimed from the bottom of the stairs.

"That must be him..." I mumbled and snatched my phone, slipping it in my pocket. I double checked my face in the mirror, only to feel my heart sink as the makeup didn't make a dramatic difference to it at all.

Making my way down the steps, I saw Jimin sitting down at a table, patiently waiting. Aw why does he look extra cute today?

"Hi Jimin!" I beamed, walking towards him, trying to push aside the fact that I was drained of all my energy.

"Ah! Annyeong," he stood up, bowing slightly, only a few centimetres taller than me. I giggled at the fact and walked out of the shop with him.

"So, where are we going?" I asked, turning to him.

"Ah, err..." he struggled to find his words. I rolled my eyes in a playful manner and took my phone out.

"Here, type it in on here," I handed him my phone with Google translate on the screen. Seconds later he handed the phone back to me: going to watch a dance off.

I frowned in confusion, "... where?"

"I show you," he grinned, his eyes becoming thin lines as they creased at the sides. He took me gently by the hand, leading me around many corners. The amount of roads we had to cross was uncountable and I became bewildered as to how he remembers his way around.

After what seemed like an eternity, he slowed down by a park where many people were gathered.

"Here!" He exclaimed and carried on dragging me through the gates, eventually reaching the crowd.

"Geuleom annyeong jimi min! Mannaseo bangabseubnida!" A deep voice greeted us; I turned around abruptly to see a man with dreadlocks wearing sunglasses. Geez he looks intimidating...

"Annyeong hyung! Oneul cham-yeohamyeon gwaenchanhseubnikka?" Jimin replied in a giddy tone.

"Mullon dangsin-eun hal su! Ige nuguji mul-eobwado doelkkayo?" The man replied with a chuckle, until he turned his attention to me whilst saying his second sentence. Was he talking about me?

"Eunsol-ah, this my dance coach. Hyung, this Lim Eunsol; my friend," Jimin excitedly grinned whilst he introduced us.

"It's nice to meet you sir," I bowed shyly not realising he'd taken his sunglasses off.

"So you're an English girl ey?" He stated gruffly; I looked up in surprise, gazing into a creased pair of eyes as the man smiled inanely. I nodded warily, "it's a pleasure to have someone from a different country that far away attend one of our traditional meet ups," the man stuck his large hand out. I shakily shook it, afraid that he'd crush every single bone in my hand.

"Aw, you're a shy little thing aren't ya?" He chuckled slightly, "geunyeoneun ttaeloneun jimin ilagibodaneun sujub-eohaji anhda," the man turned back to Jimin with a cheeky grin.

"Ya! Hyung!" Jimin lightly slapped the man's arm before saying, "I dance here too."

"What do you mean?"

"He means that he's participating in the dance off today... better cheer your boyfriend on lady," before I could reply to that the man roughly patted my shoulder and walked off.

"He's not my... boyfriend..." I sighed.

"Mwo?" Jimin asked, a confused expression plastered across his face.

I shook my head, "doesn't matter, good luck out there!" I said patting his back.

"I no go up yet, I last," he puffed out his chest, "I stay with you."

I giggled at his protective manner and couldn't help but feel happier. I'd never been to an event like this, so I was intrigued as to how it works.

Minutes later, the dance off began. The man we met before started introducing the competitors before stepping aside and letting the first person perform.

"Wow! He's amazing!" I exclaimed, gobsmacked at the dancers various moves that I could never dream of doing.

"Ne, ne," Jimin said proudly. He seemed to pause... I noticed him looking down at my hand from the corner of my eye and I started getting uncomfortable. What is this kid thinking about?!

Further on through the dance off, I felt my fingertips tingling as someone else's came in contact with mine. I thought it was just Jimin accidentally moving around because he was enjoying himself, but I saw he was only smiling and bobbing his head. Ah what is this guy doing?!

Finally, I felt someone's fingers intertwine with mine... what the-?

I gaped down at who's hand had managed to wiggle their way into my grasp, seeing that it was in fact Jimin who was beaming and blushing. I tried squeezing my hand out from his grasp but it was too strong for me to escape, so I just tolerated his childish actions and convinced myself he didn't mean anything by it... I hope.

At last, Jimin was up and I'd forgotten that he was holding my hand and he nearly took my with him.

"Ah, Jimin! Wait!" I squealed and unwound my fingers from his. I could tell he was reluctant to let go but I reassured him with a smile pumping my fist in the air. He smiled in return before walking to the middle of the stage, hanging his head. The speakers boomed with electrifying music, making my heart spark with shock, yet I was still held by Jimin's energetic yet graceful movements as he glided across the stage not pausing for a single breath. I couldn't help but admire his talent and ability to carry out such a successful performance, and for some reason I could tell he was doing it because he loved it, not for popularity or fame... just for himself and for people to enthral in, this thought made my heart melt as I carried on watching his friendly grin which could make anyone love him.

I sensed that his dance was coming to an end, and to be honest I was prepared for a subtle ending... however, I noticed Jimin backing up before lunging into a mid air flip, landing perfectly in a kneeled position. When the music stopped a cacophony of claps erupted from everyone, loads screams and cheers accompanying it. I looked towards Jimin and saw him looking at me directly with a childish smile across his face. I couldn't help but smile back, feeling that my day has been eventful.

"Geuligo geugeos-eun yeoleobun-ibnida. Chum-eul jeulgyeoss eumyeon johgess-eoyo! Annyeong!" The man boomed through the microphone once Jimin left the stage, skipping towards me.

"Eunsol-ah! How I do?!" Jimin panted.

"You were absolutely phenomenal Jimin!" I exclaimed.

He shot me a puzzled look, "mwo?"

Of course, I used a fancy word that he can't understand...

"You did great!" I said happily about to hug him.

"Ani, ani. I wet!" He exclaimed, holding his hands in front of me. I looked at him carefully, noticing beads of sweat trickling down his face, along with his drenched top.

"Oh," I laughed, and limited myself to patting his shoulder instead. He grinned before we weaved our way out of the crowd. I looked up at the clouds and noticed that they were no longer white, but instead filled with unexpressed anger, "it looks like it's going to rain," I sighed, "I haven't even got an umbrella."

A sudden crack of thunder rumbled, causing my ears to pound.

"Ah!" I jumped and clung onto Jimin without a second thought.

"Eunsol-ah, you scared thunder?" Jimin questioned innocently, but I could feel him smirking.

"It's not funny! I hate thunder," I grumbled.

A flash of lightening followed not long after which made me squeal and cling to Jimin tighter. I felt him wrap his arm around me, "Eunsol, we try be quick," as soon as we took one step forward, huge raindrops started pounding down on us.

"Ahh !" I cursed. We ran under the nearest tree, still drenched however, which caused me to shiver dreadfully. We both sat down under the tree against it's trunk, gazing around aimlessly, hoping the rain would stop soon.

"W-We hug," Jimin stuttered uncertainly. I shot him an unamused look, wanting him to justify himself, "keep warm!" He squealed holding his hands up.

"Fine..." I muttered and snuggled up to him. But with one hand, he grasped onto my right hand whilst wrapping his left arm around me, "J-Jimin..." I stuttered, puzzled as to why he wanted to hold my hand.

"Shh," he squeezed me tighter, trembling. I had no choice but to relax, as I too was unutterably freezing. The patting of the rain was somewhat soothing, and I felt my eyes gradually sliding shut.

"Eunsol-ah..." I heard someone whisper beside me. Despite me being able to hear them, I didn't want to move, "Eunsol, it stop raining."

"Mmm," I mumbled, my eyes finally peeling open. I could see Jimin's face close to mine which startled me slightly, "oh, it's stopped raining?"

"Ne, I take you home," he smiled sweetly and helped me from the ground. My hair was still damp, and parts stuck to my face causing me to wriggle my face.

I heard Jimin chuckle and turn to look at me. Whilst moving the strands of hair behind my ear he looked deeply into my eyes. I couldn't feel butterflies like I did with Taehyung... for some reason, which was strange. All I felt was the radiation of Jimin's sweetness and friendliness drift into my stomach.

With the walk being slow, we reached the cafe on time before the sky started darkening.

"Will you be okay walking on your own?" I asked in an anxious tone.

"Ne, ne. No worry pabo," he flicked my forehead lightly.

"Thank you for today, it was an extraordinary experience!" I beamed giving him a tight hug. When I looked back at his face I noticed how thoughtful it was as he processed my words.

Whilst nodding he said, "my pleasure," he brought my hands up and pecked each one of them childishly.

"Hey!" I raised my tone and gently kicked his legs whilst giggling.

"Mianhe," Jimin sniggered, "see you school!" He turned around about to walk off, but quickly turned around and pecked my cheek, "gomabseubnida... for come with me," with one last cheesy grin he jogged off down the street. I couldn't help but smile, despite me feeling slightly flustered with his actions just then.

"You're such a tease Jimin, you child... idiot," I muttered, laughing to myself afterwards.
