A loud yell was voiced by a horrified female; her voice cracking with every note she did not manage to produce. The sound was so disturbingly agonizing, it made Jinah look up in despair. Out of all times to have been discovered by others, this had got to be the worse. She never expected to see Sungjong, Chiyeon, and Aeri appearing on one side, while Jongdae and Nari appeared from the other.   “S-someone died,” Chiyeon regained her voice after her frantic yell. Her body was trembling, almost in disbelief at the reality the game had brought her. Her fingers shook as she difficultly laid it in front of her parted lips.   Aeri was much more calmer in comparison, and seemed disconnected from the harsh reality. Or perhaps, she had experienced much worse than this. “Who is it?” She asked, her tone calm and composed.   Knowing the two girls were not going to scan the corpse and that the other two werewolves would not get their hands dirty, Sungjong took it upon himself to kneel down as he carefully turned the dead body over to take a look at its face.   It was Jineul.   It were her dark brown eyes that flickered so lively whenever she sensed his attempt to ambush her, now empty. It were her soft pink lips that uttered blunt remarks that always made him chuckle, now unmoving. It was his sparring partner who always spared his life despite her constant remarks of killing him some day. But now, she was gone.   Sungjong didn’t realize his fingers curled so tightly to the point his nails could cut through his skin. He was not the type to shed a tear for a loss, because a part of him knew that Jineul would only mock him for it. Even until the end, he did not want her to have that upperhand. He gritted his teeth through his dry eyes, and got up to scan the area. Whoever did this could not have gotten far.   Then, his eyes fell on Jinah and Jangmun.   The human girl flinched, quickly scanning Jangmun who was no longer holding his gun in sight. She had to protect his identity as the killer, even if she had to opt to extreme measures.   “You wolves are complete beasts!” Jinah began yelling as she looked up towards Nari and Jongdae who stared weirdly at her. She flung her arms and threw an accusing finger at them. “Was it not enough to attack Jangmun and I? You robbed him of his gun and shot a wendigo with it.”   Jangmun stared at her with so much confusion. Though he knew what she was trying to do, he had no idea how she could actually achieve it. No one would believe that.   Except for the guy who was too engulfed by his fury to let any rationality fill his mind. Sungjong needed someone to blame; he needed someone to pay the price for Jineul’s death. Jinah knew her boss well enough to manipulate his unstable emotions. So he let out a shout, so desperate for vengeance, and charged towards his own kind.   Before Sungjong could hit them with his great club, Nari held up her wrist, allowing her blade of dragon horn to protect her. Sungjong was strong, and as any other werewolf, he’d only be stronger when enraged.   “You can’t actually believe that human, can you? By the time we arrived, that wendigo was already dead,” Nari hissed, breathing difficultly as she exerted more strength to block his attacks.   “Lies! You and Jongdae were always keen on killing the other participants. I know Jinah and Jangmun. They would never do something like this,” Sungjong said, convincing himself that the words he spoke of was the truth. He befriended himself with the other races, having seen how protective Jinah was of the non-humans, and knowing Jangmun was protective of her.   His words broke Jinah’s heart, for she knew she had lied towards her own boss and friend. But her eyes were set on a greater prize and victory. If deceiving Sungjong was what it took to claim the prize, she’d do it.   Sungjong’s hand lost balance off his hammer when Jongdae used one of his annoying coin attacks. The golden item was flicked against his arm; a move so simple yet powerful enough to withhold his attack from Nari.   “It seems you are making incorrect judgements regarding the participants,” Jongdae spoke with a weak laugh to offer the other some pity. He swung his slinger between his fingers in circular motions as he continued. “For your information, me and Nari do not kill wendigos.”   His words made Sungjong, as well as the others flinch.   “Why not?” Chiyeon braved herself to question, hoping they’ll accidentally let the truth slip out.   Jongdae smirked, stopping his movements as he grabbed the slinger in his grip. “That is something I can’t tell you, Yoo Chiyeon.”   The elf girl was surprised. The way he spoke her name so playfully carried an underlying creepiness. She had a feeling that it wasn’t the only knowledge he had of her. Jongdae knew things she did not possess knowledge of, and considering they weren’t on the same side, it irked her. She needed help from someone else to get Jongdae to talk. She needed a goblin’s help.   Nari jerked Jongdae by his ribcage, deliberately using some force so that he’d cough up his cockiness. She did not care for him, and stared at Sungjong with coldness protruded through her golden wolf eyes.   “If you want to choose your alliance, be wise and choose the right one,” she told him with a tone that masked any of her emotions.   Sungjong blinked his eyes, rising his chest in anger and confusion all at the same time. He wanted to attack her, but something about her warning prevented him to. He was afraid to act reckless or to make decisions based on impulsive instincts.   The two werewolves then turned their back from the scene and left, knowing the truth that laid within everyone’s hearts.   Despite everyone’s bewilderment, Aeri was the only one who twisted the corner of her lips into a dark smirk. She had obtained an interesting observation.     After Jangmun had abducted Jinah right in front of their eyes, her three friends went looking for her through the endless path of Mirage Forest. They decided sticking together was a wiser decision in terms of defense.   “Jinah? Are you here?” Jihye questioned out loud, holding her hand next to so the volume would be amplified.   “Technically, she wouldn’t be able to answer if she were dead,” Hoseok said as he leisurely walked behind the other two. “Unless she became a zombie, but I don’t think zombies can yell that loud.”   Jihye turned around to give him a look of annoyance before shaking her head and walking off. She was one who was usually very easy to please with her wide sense of humor, but not now. Not when someone’s life was potentially in danger. Then again, they were pretty much on each other’s target list.   “Hey, I see something,” Myungsoo suddenly said. He was peeking from behind the bushes, brushing several leaves aside to gain vision of another path. There was a female body lying on the ground, crouched into a ball, appearing lifeless.   “Jinah!” Jihye uttered after identifying the female body. She noticed the subtle movement as Myungsoo stepped aside, making way for her because he knew she would recklessly jump to the scene right away. Unlike the past, he didn’t hold her back this time. Perhaps, he was letting go of her entirely.   Myungsoo was still holding the leaves to the side so she could easily pass through. “Go, we’re right behind you,” he said. His tone was warm and caring, no matter how hard he tried to seem cold or ignorant. She knew that a part of him would always care about her.   His subtle affections left her with a frown, more and more unsettled with her own feelings. She marched towards the girl and decided to put her feelings aside for now. There were greater things at stake.   “Jinah. Hey, Jinah.” Jihye began shaking the girl by her shoulder. Her gentle movements got rougher by the passing seconds. She couldn’t be dead, could she?   But her answer came in the form of a high pitched adorable yawn, and hands that outstretched to the sky. The girl slowly sat herself up as she tightly hugged her bunny doll in her hand.   They didn’t awaken Jinah, they awakened a wendigo.   “Hm? They aren’t here,” Yibyul mumbled to herself as she scanned her surrounding. She vividly remember Yeonji and Baekhyun promising they’d play with her, but they were nowhere to be found. When she turned to the other side, she met with three other people instead. The frown on her face turned into a furtive smile.   “Playmates!”   Hoseok was the first one to swallow his saliva out loud, showing his fear. Though he had no particular race he disliked or feared, but knowing someone who considered their murder as playtime was enough reason to remain cautious.   “I guess there is no running from it now. You wanna fight, bring it on,” Jihye said confidently. The wendigo was clearly outnumbered, and she knew Myungsoo and Hoseok had enough abilities to defeat her.   “Oh, yay! I’ve been waiting for this,” Yibyul cheered, giddily hopping from one foot to the other as she applauded her hands. Then she stood still in place and began wrinkling her nose, sniffing for a faint scent as if she was inhaling sweet delicacies. “One of you is a wolf.”   The three flinched, surprised by her correct guess. They didn’t know what it indicated, so they had to handle this tastefully.   “What does it matter?” Myungsoo questioned, wanting to assess the situation.   Yibyul giggled to herself, placing her hands together behind her back as she began rocking on her heels. Her eyes moved to Jihye, knowing the scent was from her. “Because I will spare your life.”   With no time to question the meaning behind her words, or to assume she was merely talking nonsense, Yibyul had already retrieved her flail from her outfit. She began swinging her flail, letting the chains dangle the the round metal striking head attached to it.   “Wait!” Myungsoo quickly spoke, holding a hand out in front of Yibyul, and luckily enough, she was distracted enough to stop. “I need to prepare myself for battle.”   “Do you really think the wendigo would wait for you to get ready?” Hoseok asked with disbelief.   Yibyul grinned and easily plopped herself on the ground. “I don't mind. I want you to show me something cool so we could have a great playtime.”   Myungsoo knew she was serious with her words, so he had to quickly gather his power as soon as possible. If only his moves did not come with such long names. He hoisted his flanged mace up towards the sky and suppressed any embarrassment that would soon

Chapter 27: Finally finish reading this today. I like how with Hoya being a hybrid King, he would bring a change into how the different races are treated. But it makes me wonder if he would get rid of the battle for the Ephemeral Crown since it caused the death of many people including Biah and Yoongi, the people closest to him.

Chapter 20: Reading this chapter, I did feel that one of them will betray the group. I kind of thought it would be Jangmun but it turns out to be Jihye.

Chapter 10: To be honest, I can't bring myself to feel sorry for Jinah especially since she caused the werewolves to be targeted by the wendigos and she also got Sungjong to kill Nari.
I thought Biah is cute asking what y time is.

Chapter 7: I actually thought Taemin would die from the chapter before but it turns out to be someone else that died.
I feel the Wendigo group are the most interesting because I only heard of Wendigos from a game called "Until Dawn" and they were terrifying in there.
I feel bad for Jangmun who is unable to handle the Wendigo lifestyle and that he even resorted to killing just to make sure Namjoon doesn't know about it.

Chapter 2: One of my first thoughts after reading this is the story reminds me of "The Hunger Games" in a magical realm setting.
I like the part near the end when King R.O.P. is losing his patience trying to explain the purpose for what all of them will have to do in the game.

Chapter 27: Out of everyone it's shocking to see Hoya win but at the same time it's good. He lost his wife and best friend so he knows better than anyone what it's like to lose a precious one. You want a broken king because then he will be able to connect with his people on a more humane level. Great story overall I hope to see similar concepts from you author-nim in the near future

Chapter 27: OMG IT'S THE END /UGLEY SOBS. Anywayss I'm really super satisfied with the ending... It's about as idealistic as I can imagine, but eh I guess we need some hope in our lives after all the terror we went through with Namjoon LOL. It's nice that despite losing his wife and literally all of his other friends, Hoya still remains as positive as ever. Also, I like how he went from being Yoongi's bodyguard to... the actual King LOL. ALL HAIL LEE HOYAAA

What made this so satisfying to see is that idk, he finally got over the fact that 'Biah' wasn't actually Biah; 'Biah' was just Namjoon's puppet, and he remembered that at the end instead of letting his feelings control him. Which I'm sure if Biah sees this in heaven, she would be very proud of him as well. ; u ; Also seriously Namjoon, how many girls are you gonna play until the end of your life?? Lol. I guess he died in a way very befitting for the main antagonist of this story. Until the end, he never gave up. I mean, he did look kinda pathetic clinging on to literally everything, but he has been a very formidable opponent. So after he's finally beaten, I feel like everyone will be like 'WOW THAT JERK IS FINALLY GONE AFTER 9999 YEARS' and frankly speaking, I feel kinda relieved too xD Also it's soo heartwarming to see the almost dying Chiyeon, Heejin, Baekhyun, Bacon and heck even R.O.P coming together to defeat Namjoon. Even if Baekhyun died, I think his death is a happy conclusion. /sobs. Look at how much Baekhyun has grown from being the nonsense kid everyone laughs at in Chapter 1 to the hero of the day now... SO PROUD OF YOU BAEKHYUNNN

Anyway, I think you did a really good job despite the impromptuness- I mean sure yeah some parts are messy but I bet if I was the one writing this story, I would be flipping tables and chairs lol. Bittersweet that this story has ended, but at least this kinda regains my hope in humanity again seeing how much the characters have grown *^*
