Yoongi's POV

"Where do you think you're going?" Yoongi's mother asked from the sofa where she was flipping through channels seemingly uninterested.

"Out," Yoongi answered as he headed towards the front door.

"I think not. You know better than that. Go back to your room until your father gets home."

"I'm not waiting around for his drunken to come home," Yoongi said.

"Don't you dare talk about your father like that!" Mrs. Min shouted at him.

"Why? He's a good-for-nothing drunk nowadays and you should accept that already. Maybe if you did, you'd realize how messed up the things he's been doing, is!"

"You have no idea the sacrifices he's made for us! You will not disregard it all just because of how things are now! He's not well right now but he will stop and he'll get better and things will be ok again..."

Yoongi scoffed before shaking his head, his mother was delusional and there wasn't really any point talking to her. Yoongi unlocked the front door.

"Lock that door and go back to your room this instant!" His mother said sternly with a glare. Yoongi glared back at her and then disregarded what she said and opened the door proceeding to head out.

"Get back in here! You're grounded and you know that!" his mother screamed as she rose from the sofa and rushed to the door. However, Yoongi was already down the first flight of stairs and headed down the second and he was secure in the knowledge his mom wouldn't follow him.

"Min Yoongi! Get back here this instant!" She continued yelling and making a scene that was definitely going to disturb their neighbors, but that was something everyone in the apartment complex was used to. Everyone knew Mrs. Min to be a loud, stubborn, somewhat uncaring woman. Many also were aware of Mr. Min being the same way though he was worse than Mrs. Min in their opinion. All the same, none of them knew the true horrors surrounding the Min family.

Yoongi rushed down the stairs and out into the main streets where he thankfully could no longer hear his mother's voice. He knew things wouldn't be pleasant when he returned home but at the moment he didn't care. He needed to get out of the apartment, away from the smell of cigarettes and alcohol.

While he didn't have any particular destination in mind, it seemed his feet knew where to take him, as he found himself near the lakeside of the local park thirty minutes later. Yoongi walked along the bank of the lake farther into the area with more trees and fewer people. He arrived at his usual spot and sat down at the edge of the lake. He stared over the water towards the tall buildings on the other side of the lake, his mind empty yet clouded at the same time.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Yoongi muttered softly to himself. He actually knew why he was doing the things he was doing, but there was a little part of him that still believed he could turn his life around and fix things, and that part of him kept questioning why he couldn't believe there might be another way out.

Maybe I shouldn't have pushed all my friends away, they could probably help me...but then they would have been put into harm's way... then again Taehyung and Jimin have already been put in danger at least once because of me....

Thoughts continued to plague Yoongi's mind, he was arguing with himself advocating for two different sides and neither was winning.
