Jimin danced flawlessly as did Jungkook. The two put their all into their duet and when they finished they smiled happily to one another, knowing they’d done their best. They’d performed perfectly and all their hard work had definitely paid off as the crowd went wild with their applause and cheers. The judges also looked impressed as they discussed amongst themselves.

Jungkook pulled Jimin along as they got off stage and waited with the other contestants for the duet category. The judges took about ten minutes to decide on their winners. Once their decision was made, the judge in the middle began announcing them.

“There were many outstanding performances, but after careful scoring and deliberation, we’ve decided on the following. In third place with a score of 28 out of 30 is Crown Queens ,” the judge said and a couple of girls in front of Jungkook and Jimin screamed and jumped happily before composing themselves and going up to take their respective trophy. 

“Now in second place with a score of 28.7 is…. Sweet and Sour ,” the judge announced, and Jimin cheered recognizing the name of the group. Somin and Hui went on stage to get their trophies and Jimin cheered excitedly for them and then waited with bated breath to see who won first.

“And finally, in first place with a score of 29.5…. is... Black and White !” The judge said and clapped. Jimin looked towards Jungkook with wide eyes and the younger returned the look. The two hurried towards the stage to get their trophies after a push from Hoseok who was exhilarated over his friends win.

Once on stage, all the winners bowed and waved to the crowd while having their pictures taken. After a couple of minutes, they were motioned offstage and it was announced the group performances would be starting.

“I can’t believe we won first place!” Jimin exclaimed happily as he and Jungkook beamed at one another.

“You two deserved it!” Hoseok said and then hurried them towards their families. “Go leave your trophies with your families and hurry back, we’re the fifth group up for the group performances!” Hoseok reminded and so the two younger males quickly went to their families to leave their trophies with them. 

“That was amazing Jimin, you totally deserved that win!” Taehyung exclaimed when Jimin came to where his family was seated. Jimin beamed at Taehyung, “you came!”

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world!” Taehyung responded while taking the trophy from Jimin to admire it.

“You should go back hyung, you’re going to be up real soon again!” Jihyun warned as he pushed Jimin to go back and then tried to take the trophy from Taehyung. Jimin giggled and then rushed back towards the dressing rooms to change.

While changing, Jimin looked at his phone again to see if Taemin had responded, but still, nothing and Jimin sadly wasn’t able to find the elder in the crowd. Jimin had gotten messages from Jin and Namjoon who he was surprised to find out had come to watch him, Hoseok and Jungkook. Jimin frowned wondering if maybe Taemin was hurt or something. It wasn’t like the elder to leave him waiting for a reply for longer than two hours. Usually, his boyfriend would at least send a short text informing Jimin that he’d call later if he was busy.

“Stop worrying Jimin, he’s probably just caught up in some unexpected school function,” Jimin said to himself as he frowned while looking at himself in the mirror. He slapped his cheeks lightly to get his mind of Taemin and took in a few deep breaths to get his head back in the game. Once he felt more relaxed, he quickly finished changing and headed out to join up with Jungkook and Hoseok. 

“Ok, we’re up next, ready team?” Hoseok asked and the two younger males nodded. 

“We’ve worked hard, so even if we don’t win, know that I’m proud of all of us and you should be too,” Hoseok continued and gave them proud smiles.

“We’re going to win hyung,” Jimin said with a determined look which was matched by Jungkook who nodded in agreement.

“I sure hope so,” Hoseok said with a determined smile of his own.

Their group was called on to the stage a few moments later and the three walked up and got into position. Hoseok took care of the introductions and then the music began and so did their performance. Once again they accomplished another flawless performance and received resounding applause and cheering. When the group left the stage other competitors let them know how well they performed and teased that they’d be hard to beat.
