Chapter 11 Hazy Link

There are instances people get confused of their own feelings and emotions, especially when they don’t know where to stand in someone’s life. Because of the irrational relationships that are developed by their illogical emotions, what they truly feel becomes unfathomable. Sometimes it’s just more than a friendship but less than lovers; sometimes they’re nothing but strangers but a minute later one talks to other saying how special they are and the next morning it’s like nothing happened and it’s because of these roller coaster-like affections that make their hearts difficult to determine from what’s real and what’s not.

“Okay, 1…2…3…” The instructor clapped his hands jiving with the lively music while he’s monitoring these hard working students following the difficult choreography.

All eyes are on this dance team as they observe them behind this strict instructor pointing out every single tiniest mistake and scolding from these smallest errors. Not wanting to be ashamed on the very special day, these students are showing no signs of stress and fatigue as they keep on grinding to their best. One of them is Lisa who’s all out in this practice, so pumped and way too hyped to be compared to any out breathed students wheezing around her.

Right after the music stopped, the instructor praised, “Very good Lisa! You’re doing great! You’re getting better each day. Keep it up.”

“Yes sir. Thank you.” The satisfied Lisa said with all smile in her lips stretching so wide.

“Who wouldn’t get so hyped if your girlfriend is watching you?” Her team mates teased and beeped at her flustered face.

“Eh~ so that’s why she looks so glorified since we started our practice.” Another group teased.

Lisa acted unaffected as she ignored their tease and cheers but couldn’t help but to smile at this gorgeous woman lightly clapping her hands by the audience area of this expansive auditorium they’re on, surrounded by empty seats. Faster than the speed of sound, the excited Lisa makes her way down from the stage to meet this one fan girl cheering for her at the farthest seat at the back.

“Jennie~” Lisa bounced in front of her, still wearing that brightest smile in her face.

With her two thumbs up, Jennie also praised, “You’re doing great. You’ll get everyone’s attention on Foundation Day for sure if you keep it up or perhaps you’ll keep on doing better than that.”

“Because you’re here to watch me, I’m doing my best.” Lisa grinned.

Jennie fakes her cough as she looks away to hide this redness slowly creeping up to her cheeks, “S-shut up loser. That’s not funny.”

“Thanks anyway.” Lisa still said. “I’m glad you agreed to watch me at least once even though I just somewhat forced you.” She continued apologetically.

“I was thinking of really dropping by here after my afternoon classes even if you didn’t ask me to. I’d rather watch you having a practice than to wait in the car while waiting for the time to hit 5PM.” Jennie said in a calm way to cool off Lisa’s guilt.

Lisa took a glimpse of her watch, only to realize that the time really did hit 5PM already. At some point she felt disappointed as she sadly and selfishly said, “I wish the time could have just stopped.”

“What are you talking about?” Jennie cackled at her pouting lips. “I made a promise with your mom, remember? I have to give her a short tour around the city until you finish your part time job tonight. You shouldn’t be wishing for the time to stop if you want your mom to enjoy her stay here. You don’t want her to get bored in your place all day, right?” She then clarified.

“Okay fine. I guess it’s time for us to be separated again.” Lisa sighed and later frowned at Jennie.

Jennie playfully flicked Lisa’s forehead then assumes, “You’re so weird do you know that? It’s not like this would be the last time we’ll meet each other. There’s still tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, then the succeeding days after that, the next month... for the next few months… then maybe the following years…”

“Forever?” Lisa asked so serious.

The short times can easily be promised but forever made Jennie think twice. The word itself gives her heavy feeling, what more if it’s vowed. Because of these considerations she’s making up recently, the contemplations of her ending the deal with this fabricated relationship of theirs, what Lisa’s asking for seems to be far ahead yet.

“You’re silly…” Jennie evaded with her sniggers and a forced out smile she can best pull out of her shaky lips.

If Jennie thought she magnificently ran away, she’s all mistaken. Lisa distinguished on how she deliberately dodged it with those pretentious giggles of hers. And because of this, those words from her mother came back to bug her overthinking brain. Surely, this sharp woman can sense something is off with her girlfriend but decided not to let it ruin this moment they rarely share together.

“You’re right. I’m just being silly again.” Lisa then decided to ride Jennie’s fake giggles as she did the same.

Jennie grabs her bag from the side as she formally bids farewell, “I’m going to fetch your mom now. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to bring her back safely.”

“Why is it always you who have to leave first?” Lisa screamed in the inside, but all she can do is to give Jennie her one last embrace whispering before they part off, “Like always, take care.”

Though regretful that she has to let go immediately, Jennie marched out of the auditorium without looking back to her lover who ogled her back disappearing from the closing doors. As much as Jennie needed to feel her warmth and her embrace a little longer, she chose not to in attempt to fix these dazed emotions caused by her shattering heart.

On the other hand, from overseas is a father doing this job that’s unending. From paper works to personally checking on the ongoing projects and to dinner meetings he has to attend. Being a President of a well-known company sure isn’t an easy task, and what makes it more difficult for him is that he has to be a father of his two children who are constantly being dragged to this business he’s taking care of.

In this exclusive lavish restaurant, the company executives were gathered in a long table with the man of the hour, the President, in the middle raising his goblet of wine as he proclaims, “As our project and expansion is progressing smoothly, I’d like to thank this group for the hard work. This project wouldn’t be possible without the group’s effort for these past few months. And with that, it deserves a celebration and a toast.”

“Cheers!” They all cheered as their glasses clashed harmoniously.

Everything’s perfectly set in this restaurant they reserved exclusively for them for this night. This man, this pushy man may look so strict, may sound so heartless and may act so cruel but despite of him being judged in this own ways, he never missed a time to check on his family, even at this very moment that he’s facing these business people talking about nothing but money.

“How’s the most beautiful wife in the world doing?” He joked the time that the call was answered.

“You’re so old-fashioned. That will never work on me.” The wife responded but so thrilled she obviously chuckled. “I’m doing well. You shouldn’t be calling at this time. Aren’t you on a dinner right now with the company?” She then asked.

“I am but am I not allowed to check on my family?” The father examined but teasingly as he let out this soft giggles he only shows to his wife.

The wife continues on chuckling, “Aigoo~ you’re missing us too much.”

“So, how’s my son doing then? Is he doing his job well?”

The wife need not to think a second as she directly updates, “He is. In fact, he barely gets some rest these days. Because you left bunch of works and let him handle it, our poor son is getting so stressed. If only it’s possible for me to half his works and let me work on it, I already did it.”

“It can’t be helped. He’s going to be succeeding my position soon anyway. That serves as a practice for him before he actually steps higher. Besides, I trust him that he can do it without me. Look, he doesn’t even call me to ask for help or even ask how I am doing here.” The man sighed.

“C’mon, just admit it that you miss your son that’s why you’re anticipating a call from him.” The wife provoked the man in his still and so she moved on to asks, “How about Jennie? Aren’t you going to ask how she’s doing?”

The father heavily sighed, “That girl… I’m sure she’s just out there again living her rebellious life.”

“You’re wrong.” The mother gladly said then informs the attentive husband, “She’s casually attending the university now and she stopped going to night clubs. The university called too, saying that her grades are improving though she still sometimes skips her classes. Don’t you have those on your reports from your men?”

“Really?” He still asked in disbelief but smiled a little from this good news.

“Hey, don’t you think it’s because of Lisa after all? I mean, ever since she met her she’s slowly returning to that little girl who used to be so sweet and kind. Lisa must be a huge influence to her.” The wife opened up.

The man paused from retorting with his careless remarks as he thinks deeply of his daughter which he hasn’t done for a long time. He may not frequently talks to Jennie, he may not converse to her as often as he talks with his son but there hasn’t been a time that Jennie went out of his radar. Judging from all the reports about Jennie so far from these men he hired to tail her, certainly, not a single misconduct has been heard yet and mostly having the same routine of hanging out with either her friends or Lisa.

“That’s true but still… I’m against her relationship with Lisa.” He tardily answered after shoving away his ideas.

His wife though wailed, not satisfied with his reply and further contends, “This is why Jennie misunderstands you all the time and this is why the two of you always fight. Your ways and hers are too contradicting that it never meets. I understand that you only want what’s good for her future that’s why you’re pushing through with the engagement and taking all risks for it but you’re way is too wrong. What our daughter needs is happiness. Lisa is a good person and I believe she can take care of our daughter. You’ve never seen how much our daughter has changed since you left. If only you can see that smile in her face and that joy in her actions, I’m sure even you would want to have Lisa as a part of our family.”

“Which side are you taking, me or Lisa?” The jealous husband grilled.

“I’m just simply asking you to accept Lisa for our daughter, that’s all. Our Jen looks so in love with her anyway. And if you break them up, do you want to see our daughter crying again just like how she cried that day she found out that she’s not our own? Do you want to see her back to her rebellious self and get distant from you even more?”

The past then haunts the father, that day Jennie’s brilliance was eaten by shadows of the truth. It was also on that same day that this strict father felt wrecked seeing his daughter in agony but couldn’t do anything but to go on with his own ways, believing that it will make Jennie stronger. It was on that same day when for the first time he felt remorseful, guilty of taking away Jennie’s smile out from her lips by hiding the fruitful truth. And due to that, he implemented his harsh procedures with this thought it could give Jennie a proper and brighter future.

“Let’s not talk about this right now.” He begged as he felt severe headache after rewinding himself back to the past.

“Sorry, we ended up talking about their relationship again.” His wife then also apologized.

The call ended in no time and seconds later his secretary is calling him out of the restaurant. He initially ignored the calls from the secretary asking his attention who is by the restaurant’s entrance. But upon understanding what’s being mouthed to him which is “It’s urgent, sir. It’s about your daughter.” He straightaway excused himself from the other guests to follow his secretary all the way out to his car for a private talk.

“Sir, we received a report about Jennie.” His secretary reported urgently.

“If it’s about the daily report then you can just tell me later on after my dinner meeting.” The man returned aloof.

“No sir. This report is somehow different.” The secretary said in a deep tone, indicating seriousness which made the father half from moving out of the car.

The father went back to his seat and asked, “What is it about?”

His secretary handed over her laptop to him wherein an email is showing on the screen, and then she explains, “We received this email just a minute ago from an anonymous sender sir. It’s about your daughter’s relationship with Lalisa Manoban. I personally think this should be taken seriously.”

The father reads the content of the email stating, “Your dear daughter is deceiving you. Her relationship with Lalisa Manoban is nothing but a fake in order for her to escape from your one-sided want of having her engaged and to save Lisa’s scholarship. It’s a deal made for them by your precious son to mislead you. If you won’t believe this, why don’t you check on the photos? Lalisa Manoban is actually seeing someone else, not your daughter.”

The father scrolled down and photos of Lisa and Rose together on a Sunday morning which was obviously taken from a distance. Some photos of Jennie being alone on that same day were also taken to prove that the report is real and that they’re just a pretentious imaginary couple. He’s lost for words and keeps on scrolling up and down to these photos murdering his sight. In dismay, he later closed the laptop and threw it out of through the car’s windows.

“Who sent that?” The father is now in rage as he roared.

A little scared of the man’s wrath, the secretary managed to respond, “We’re trying to trace the email, sir. For now, we still don’t have any results yet but I already asked some of our men to check on it.”

“Make sure to track down whoever sent that and give me a full report as soon as possible!” He ordered.

“How about the authenticity of what was stated on the email sir? Won’t we check if your daughter is indeed lying to you? Should we ask to add more of our securities around her?” The secretary asked for clarification.

“I only want to know who this person is trying to frame my daughter. I’ll be the one who’ll personally confront my daughter about this if in case it’s true… but I hope it’s not.” The father heaved a sigh of disappointment.

“Why sir?”

“You’re asking why? Of course if this is true then God damn my daughter will be hurt. I was just talking to my wife seconds ago proudly telling me how much my daughter is in love with that Lisa and yet here I am only to find out it’s just a game? It would have just been better if she’ll get engaged then. And if this true, I won’t forgive Lisa!” The father yelled out his dejection.

Later that day, Lisa is in her part time job doing the usual. The crowd is thicker and customers keep on coming in and out nonstop from this small diner she works on. She’s has gone too busy and occupied but not enough to shove away her uneasiness and worries with her relationship with Jennie that’s turning so breakable in some way she feels so. Even with all these customers she’s interacting with, her thoughts of Jennie just won’t stop passing by to her mind.

“Lisa, that customer over there is asking for you. She’s requesting for you to have a short chitchat with her.” The manager hissed to Lisa’s who is busily checking out some of the orders by the counter.

“Huh? Who? And chitchat? Really, we have a lot of customers to attend with. We got not time for chitchats.” Lisa asked with her attention still fixated in her own tasks.

The manager snatched away the tray from Lisa’s hands and forced her to look at him muttering, “I don’t know but just go to her, okay? She gave us a lot of tip so I just couldn’t say no to her since she insisted too.”

Lisa saw that bundle of money hiding on that bulging pocket of the manager and couldn’t help but to sigh in doubt. ‘No wonder this damn manager easily accepted the request. He sure can easily be bribed.’ She alleged but nevertheless had no choice but to simply follow the orders. She advanced to this seat good for two persons by the extreme end table near the windows. From afar, Lisa cannot recognize the elegant lady but the moment she stepped across the table, her face darkened like seeing her worst nightmare.

“Nayeon…” Lisa recognized and her fists automatically clenched.

“Have a seat.” Nayeon offered the vacant seat across her.

Lisa however didn’t comply as she remains standing still in her place and asks annoyingly, “What is it that you want from me? Make it fast, I’m so busy right now and I think you’re smart enough to tell it.”

“You’re pretty impatient, huh? And not to mention, you’re a bit disrespectful too despite of knowing that I’m older than you.” Nayeon dissed but it didn’t move Lisa to ire at all. And so with her arrogant smirk, she digs deeper, “But I wonder if you can still be that brave if you’ll hear what I’m about to tell you.”

“Like I said, make it fast and quit going around in circles.” The intolerant and vexed Lisa said crossed her arms and foot tapping irritably.

“Jennie told me about your fake relationship.” Nayeon said straightforward that Lisa’s crossed arms untied and her strong glares turned so weak in tremor.

“What?”

“Surprised? But don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone.” Nayeon giggled looking up to Lisa’s agitated expression. “But you know I feel sorry for Jennie. She’s my precious friend after all and to see her exerting too much effort while knowing the fact that you’re just faking it with her breaks me. I don’t know why it makes me feel like she’s being played with.” She continued while she enjoys Lisa’s state.

“You don’t know anything about us…” Lisa grumbled low but her trembling fists are tightly clenched behind her back, ready to land this punch anytime into Nayeon’s glowing evil face. “You know, I’m starting to think that you’re the reason why Jennie is being distant to me these days. What did you tell her?” She speculated as her mind is getting darker.

“Huh? It’s not my fault that she’s being like that. In fact, isn’t she doing the right thing? Well, you may be friends with her but you’re not real lovers to begin with, why should she cling on you all the time?” Nayeon questioned.

“T-that’s…” Lisa failed to answer as she realized, somewhat, that what Nayeon just spill out was true.

“And why are you so suspicious of me and you obviously hating on me? Are you jealous?” Nayeon goes on grills this speechless Lisa in her unstable stance. “Let me tell you something more Lisa. It shouldn’t be me that you hate and getting jealous on in the first place. Jennie and I are long gone and I don’t have single romantic feeling for her anymore. Shouldn’t you be more suspicious of those people currently around her instead?”

“What do you mean?” Lisa nervously asked yet she strides closer to Nayeon, wanting to hear more of what her evil mind has to say. “Are you trying to say that… there’s someone else?”

“Wow, as expected from you smart girl. You easily understood that one.” Nayeon mischievously sniggered. As Lisa tended closer, she illustrates her targets, “You’re indeed smart but you’re blind. There has been a snake crawling around but you can’t even see it slowly wrapping your girlfriend.”

“Tell me, who is it?” Lisa asked as her voice cracked in agitation.

Nayeon sighed. She stood up from her seat to give Lisa a face-to-face close conclusion murmuring narrowly, “Sorry but I can’t tell you. I was only able to ask ten minutes of your time from your manager and so we’re done here. Anyway, my only intention for visiting you is to tell you that I’m aware of your pretentious relationship. But if you really want to know more, just keep your eyes open, like how the poor Jennie has her eyes open on you all the time.”

Nayeon walked out of the diner and successfully evaded more of the questionings. Lisa, in the end, was left more anxious and jumbled than before. For some reason Lisa couldn’t explain herself, her heart pounded so loud and heavy as she believed all of Nayeon’s revelations. She wanted not to trust it and wanted to believe that it’s just her wicked ways she assumed of but her heart is shouting that there’s a gamble it could be true.

During that night, Jisoo meanwhile arrived at her best friend’s mansion. She seldom visits this spacious place but whenever she does, it’s because she was invited to come. Just like any other VIP visitors, Jisoo was welcomed by the servants and was led to the mansion’s terrace where Ji-yong is patiently standing there waiting for her arrival while he emptily watches the ground floor illuminated by yellow lights. With her careful steps, Jisoo stood beside him quite edgy because of his strange appearance.

“I’ll go straight to the point Jisoo.” Ji-yong said and breathed out before openly asking, “Did you know that Jennie plans on ending her deal with Lisa? She said she wants to end it considering Lisa’s freedom and whatsoever. Have you heard anything about it?”

Though shocked and shaken with the information, Jisoo acted calm as much as possible by looking far and stuttering, “I… didn’t know… It’s my first time… to hear about it.”

Ji-yong switched position to face Jisoo. Though the young one cannot directly look him into his serious stares, he still continues on probing, “Again, I’ll ask you straightforward. As Jennie’s best friend I know that you almost know every single thing about her more than I do as her brother who is not beside her most of the times. So, as Jennie’s best friend, I want to know your standpoint about this. What’s your honest opinion with Jennie’s decisions?”

“My honest opinion, huh?” Jisoo bit the insides of her cheeks to contain these aroused emotions from bursting out. She only has one thing in mind, only one possible reason but hesitates to let it escape out of and clogging throat due to her denials.

“Jisoo, please…” Ji-yong pleaded.

Jisoo closed her eyes as she honestly disclosed her beliefs, “I think Jennie is falling in love with Lisa for real. She’s scared for that feeling to grow deeper and terrified for some reason which I have no idea anymore. That’s my answer that you’re looking for oppa. It’s just my gut feeling though but most of the times my guts are right when it comes to Jennie.”

“I’m not surprised. We’re actually thinking the same thing.” Ji-yong also shared. “But in my view, more like from an adult’s view, I’m thinking that Jennie learned to love her more than enough to let her go and give her that freedom she’s been talking about. My sister must have fallen so hard for Lisa. And it’s going to be my entire fault if one day I’ll see my sister crying every single night.” He expressed with his voice became so low in defeat.

“Oppa…” Jisoo frowned seeing this strong man failing in his stand.

Sighing in frustration, Ji-yong expresses more, “You were right that time, when you said that the deal has too many holes. And now I’m thinking that I should have just chosen you and you would have gladly accepted it, right?”

“Chichu~”

The two in a deep serious talk startled from Jennie’s appearance out of nowhere. They both turned around to meet Jennie jumping happily as she gives her best friend her tightest bear hug and forced Jisoo to carry her for a twirl. As the best friends are so engrossed with their little flirtatious game, Ji-yong signaled Jisoo taking his leave first and the latter can only give him a nod.

“What were you talking about with my brother? You seemed to be so serious.” Jennie questioned the time she let go of her best friend from her tight embrace.

Jisoo shakes off her head and excuses with a smile, “We’re talking about business plans. Do you want to hear about it?”

“Duh~ no way. I’ve had enough on classes already.” Jennie rolled her eyes.

“How about you? Where did you go that you’re a little late?” Jisoo takes her turn on questioning her best friend who’s playfully balancing by the trails.

“I accompanied Lisa’s mom to the malls and shopping district.” Jennie replied short but enough to feed Jisoo’s ears.

This exasperated Jisoo in some way that she heard one of her nerves popped out then questions in a high enraged tone, “Why are you even doing that? It’s not even your responsibility. You’re not even in a real relationship with Lisa in the first place. Do you really have to oblige yourself?”

“It’s because I already made a promise!” Jennie answered back. “I’m treating you the same, right? I treat you as well as Rosie the same way I treat Lisa, am I not? And there’s no special reason for Lisa.”

Jisoo stretched her neck, trying to calm her emotion that she was unable to control for a second. With her composed voice, she forced out a smile saying, “Sorry. I’m just tired.”

Jennie has never seen her best friend in such a way. Sure Jisoo can be mad and angry at her anytime because of her misconducts but never she thought she can me this fierce for something she did right. Truly, it’s strange, stranger that Jisoo’s last comeback wasn’t like what she expected as she kept it short with an apology she thinks it’s pointless.

“Hey Chichu… would you like to have dinner with us? You’re tired, right? Why don’t you join us before you go? Mom would be happy to see you too.” Jennie can only awkwardly offer her best friend.

Jisoo nodded, “Yeah. Sure.”

The night has gone deep and Lisa’s job for the entire tiring day is finally done. She forced her beaten up body up to her room as she unlocked it lifelessly. However her once lifeless body boosted up so spirited in surprise to see a lot of shopping bags and brand new various things and souvenirs scattered all over her bed down to the floor then there’s her mother feasting on the middle. The smell of her room eventually turned so new because of these unfamiliar things around her.

“Mom? What are these? Where and how did you get all of these?” Lisa asked as she picked up a brand new bag then has gone so wide after she saw the price tag with too many commas.

“Jennie bought it all for me~” The mother said with so much thrill that she doesn’t look up to her speechless daughter.

Lisa stumbles as she sits across her thrilled mother, “Mom… did you extract money out of Jennie?!”

Her mother slaps her by the shoulders defending herself, “I didn’t you silly! What do you think of me, gold digger? She strongly insisted to buy me some things as a welcome present. I thought she’ll only going to get me one or two so I agreed but I didn’t expect she’ll fill up two shopping carts only for me. It’s so hard to say no to her gummy smile you know.”

“Well, you’re right. It’s hard to resist her smile.” Lisa thought, smiling to herself.

“But no worries, Lisa!” The mother announced and thus Lisa stared at her in confusion. “Your girlfriend got something for you too.” She then winked.

Lisa jumps in excitement from the inside but showing only a bit of her eagerness from the outside. She expressionlessly watched her mother digging into those huge shopping bags but her heart is on alert to whatever that thing is. After a minute or two, her mother got this small squared purple box in her hand then happily handed it over to her wondering daughter.

Lisa cautiously opened this box in her freezing hands and a shining silver bracelet with small purple pearls appeared in her eyes. Evidently, this bracelet isn’t some ordinary fancy bracelet that anyone can see on the sidewalks. What makes it more special for Lisa’s thrilled self is this bracelet was personalized with her name engraved in small pieces of purple beads.

“A b-b-bracelet? Isn’t this… expensive?” Lisa shrieked but got so eager to wear it immediately in her wrist.

The mother giggled and said, “We were actually talking about you the whole time we’re walking around the city. She walked me to the shopping district and told me that you once let her experience the night life in there. She asked me for an advice on what to give you too, since she said you seem to be okay with everything. So, I helped her out and told her you like accessories. She’s so sweet, isn’t she Lisa?”

Lisa smiled so wide and later turned into soft giggles of thrill she cannot contain in her heart any longer. She raised her arms up to the light to let the bracelet shine down on her, picturing Jennie’s happy face on it. “She is mom. It feels like I’m the luckiest girl in the world right now. I’m not asking for any material thing from her though but this is her first gift so I’m going to treasure and take care of this.” She returned late as she exhaled with so much bliss.

“I have something for you too.” The mother interrupted Lisa’s fantasies. “I won the lottery at the mall a while ago too; two tickets for a newly opened aquarium. I don’t know where it’s located though but Jennie said it’s just around the city. It’s valid for six months. You can use it when you’re not busy or on Sundays whenever you’re free.” She publicized and handed over the two tickets to her daughter.

“What am I going to do with this mom?”

“Idiot!” The mother spanked her dumbfounded daughter then yells at her, “Of course you’re going to use that to ask Jennie out for a date!”

“D-d-date?” Lisa blushed.

“Jennie said you’re so absorbed with your studies and the preparation for Foundation Day and said you don’t even time for yourself anymore. That’s why I planned on giving you this so that you can at least go out and unwind with Jennie.” Her mother suggested as she smiled at her flustered daughter.

Lisa gazed at these tickets she tightly holds in her fingers. She’s staring at it so intently that her mind began imagining how her day with Jennie would be at the aquarium. How Jennie would suddenly get so bubbly and talkative and how she would just stand there holding her hands tight, how Jennie would be so fascinated with everything she sees for the first time and again she would just be there standing beside her while she holds her hands, Lisa started to imagine of those happy moments.

With all these in her mind, Lisa gladly assured her mother, “Sure mom. I’ll definitely ask her for a real date next time.”

“So, how’s your relationship with her going? She told me you’re not seeing each other much these days and I thought something’s wrong with the two of you.” The concerned mother asked.

Lisa settled herself as she properly sat across her mother as she confessed, “I don’t know too mom. These days are so vague for us. There are days we’re so sweet, then suddenly she’ll be so cold. Sometimes she’s so sweet and so hyper but then the next day she’ll be on a bad mood and won’t talk much. She’s so clingy but then she’ll be so distant. What’s up with that mom? I don’t get it and because of that I’m so confused.”

The mother smiles warmly as she opens up her honest thoughts, “It can be that she doesn’t know where she
