Turn Of Events

13 pages of basic Chinese characters for her to distinguish, 2 thick books for her translations. It couldn't be that hard especially if she really want this. But she don't. She actually need this for her future, for her to make money. So Jiyeon it up and started to turn the pages one by one, familiarizing each and everyone.

She could've just enter a learning facility but she's saving those last cents for her plane ticket. This just proved how much Kim Jiyeon badly needs this job.

Couples of weeks passed and now she's on her way to the job center where as her interview will be held. She's alright, she's alright. She keeps on calming herself because she isn't alright. Even though she knew that she's done a great job in studying the essentials of Chinese language, still, nerves gets to her. The office's door opened, revealing a woman asking for her to enter. It's now or never.

"Never." A generous amount of soju was gulped.  "I will never waste my time to some ing job ever again!" The drunk jobless woman kept on ranting at the bartender for quite some time now. The employee seemed to enjoy Jiyeon's breakdown. For every diss she spat there she was, nodding at the wasted costumer. A very pretty one, the bartender noticed.

It's already closing time, and the bartender still entertains Jiyeon but she also knew that everything comes to an end, "I would love to hear more about your failures in life, but maybe next time we'll discuss the good ones." The kind bartender wipes the counter one last time. Jiyeon scoffed, "Yeah right." Noticing the bartender flinched at her remarks she quickly added, "I mean if there's a good one. I would love to talk to you again." Jiyeon doesn't know if it's because of the alcohol that's why she's suddenly brave for telling the blunt truth to a stranger but she's thankful for it.
"Well if that's the case, would you like to give me your name?" The bartender lend her pen and grabbed a napkin, sliding it to Jiyeon, hoping to get her info. "Right." She did give it. She looked at the bartender and asked about her the same thing, "They call me Seongso." Jiyeon looked at her nameplate and it's in Chinese. "Chengxiao." Taken aback, Chengxiao's opened mouth started to form a smile, a very impressed smile. And for the first time that day Jiyeon doesn't regret making all that effort to learn a foreign language.
