Existence"Catch me if you can!" Woohyun cackled as he ran away from his friends that were yelling after him indignantly. He had splashed them with a bucket of lake water that he had painstakingly lugged a couple of meters away to where his friends were resting under the umbrella. However, Woohyun known for his speed was too fast and none of them could catch up to him (and gave up, knowing it would be a futile chase).
Woohyun decided that it was best if he were to put some more distance between them, even though he was safe. Unfortunately, he was running one second and the next, he stumbled over a smooth, hard rock that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He slipped, feet crossing with each other and fell down.
A hand appeared in front of him as soon as he tripped and fell down. Tears danced in his eyes from the hard impact. He bit his lips, wondering if it served him right for being a bit of a jerk to his friends. Fifteen-year-old Woohyun felt a shadow shade him from the harsh sun that was beating down on him and looked up to see a pair of unfamiliar eyes looking right back at him. It was a boy his age, perhaps a little bit older.
"Who are you?" Woohyun asked, his head tilting cutely to the side, not making a move to take the hand in front of him. Sunggyu fought the urge to reach out and pinch the boy's cheeks, because he looked so... squishy. Woohyun on the other hand, was intrigued.
He lived in a small town and everyone knew each other. The town was also not a tourist destination; it was far too small to belong on maps (other than Google Maps) and they didn't get tourists often. But perhaps this boy was a rare tourist that happened upon the town.
"Hello," Sunggyu said, not bothering to answer his question and continued to have his hand offered out to Woohyun. Woohyun accepted it, although warily, and he helped the younger boy up. Woohyun kept his eyes on the older, taller boy the whole time, his eyes never blinking once.
"Hello," Woohyun finally heard himself say and the older boy let go of his hand. Woohyun couldn't help but feel a bit empty when the boy's hand left his. He could feel his heart fluttering in his chest. He wasn't sure what the fluttering meant, if it meant anything at all.
"My name is Sunggyu," the other boy finally introduced himself, awkwardly shifting from foot to foot on the grass. He his lips, as if he were nervous. It made the two of them then. Woohyun had always been a bit awkward around strangers. Woohyun surprised himself for even noticing; he never really noticed much to be quite honest. He has always been told that he can be quite oblivious at times.
"My name is—" Woohyun flashed the boy a charming grin, about to say his name. Before he could even finish, Sunggyu interrupted him, "I know. It's Woohyun, isn't it?"
Woohyun gave the boy a weird look, unsure of what to feel and wondering how this weird boy knew his name. He asked, "How do you know?" Sunggyu just chuckled, avoiding the question. He held his hand out again for the boy to grasp for a firm handshake.
"How do you know?" Woohyun asked again, clearly unrelenting. He appeared to want to dash off, feeling creeped out. Sunggyu, on the other hand, though he knew it was a natural response of someone who was creeped out by how a stranger knew his name, couldn't help but feel hurt. He had to remind himself that Woohyun, like the previous time, during the industrial revo
