Chapter Twelve
Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most"CODE BLUE!" The alarms in the hospital floor went off. The nurses, doctors, and staff members rushed to Sorins room. Jay had just walked back from using the restroom.
"Push epi!" The doctor instructed. Nurses were shifting, taking turns doing compressions. Jay could only see Sorin's feet. They were covered with tan socks that had grips on them. As they compressed her feet would move.
"Sir, you cant come in here. We will keep you updated as things change." The nurse told Jay. He hadnt even noticed that he had moved, he just kept staring at those ridiculous socks. Jay stood by the glass door and watched as they tried to bring Sorin back to life.
Jays phone was ringing, he nonchalantly put it up to his ear and said hello.
"How's Sorin?" Minah asked.
"Shes getting CPR. I just went to the restroom and when I came back there was nurses and doctors everywhere." He dropped the phone to his side and just continued watching. It went on like this for about 45 minutes. The nurse came out and walked up to Jay.
"Are you Ms. Kim's gaurdian?" The petite nurse said as she smoothed her blue scrubs to her side.
"I am. Is she okay?" Jay said with a weak voice.
"Her pulse dropped to low levels and her heart went out of beat, so we helped to bring it back. She is stable now, but were going to keep a close eye on her. Has anyone other than you and close family come to visit?" The nurse asked, the doctor came up and awaited his answer.
"Not that I am aware of, why did something happen?"
