Let Me Barge Into Your HeartMingyu woke up to the smell of something comfy and warm and OH MY GOD WAS HIS APARTMENT ON FIRE?!
He bolted out of bed and was ready to bolt out the door when a familiar deep voice called out to him.
“Shouldn’t you eat before going out for a run?”
Mingyu stopped in his tracks and turned to his kitchen to see the stranger from last night. He was placing a plate on Mingyu’s coffee table, since Mingyu didn’t really have an actual table to eat on, and gestured for Mingyu to sit down. Mingyu awkwardly made his way to the couch and grabbed the plate. He was starving so he began inhaling the food making Wonwoo laugh.
“Is it good?”
Mingyu nodded with a smile, and a mouthful.
“I figured it was the least I could do since you were extremely cool with me barging into your home.”
Mingyu chased down the food with a glass of water Wonwoo had also put out and when he was done he said, “You really didn’t need to go to all this trouble.”
Wonwoo shrugged and was about to take Mingyu’s empty dishes to the sink, but Mingyu stopped him and took them instead. They stayed silent while Mingyu washed the dishes until he thought about asking Wonwoo if he had eaten. Wonwoo shyly responded he had.
“You kind of took a while to get up.”
Mingyu turned towards the clock. It was now around 11 am. Who knows how long Wonwoo had been up?
Mingyu was busy pondering so he was caught off guard when Wonwoo spoke up.
“I broke up with my boyfriend last night.”
Confused but sympathetic, Mingyu replied, “I’m sorry.”
Wonwoo shook his head. He was smiling, but Mingyu knew it was empty.
“No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be involving you in this, but I honestly had no one else to turn to. Well, there was someone, but I’m scared what they might do to my boyf- I mean ex.”
Mingyu prompted Wonwoo to continue. None of this made sense, but he was definitely curious to see how Wonwoo had chosen his apartment.
“I have a friend that lives here. Jun is his name. You might’ve seen him around once or twice. I was gonna go to him, but I realized he would kill my ex if he knew. I remembered Jun saying you were such a nice guy that ‘you’d let a stranger sleep on your couch’ so I thought I’d test it out. I had nothing to lose really.”
It finally made sense in Mingyu’s head. He’d never seen Wonwoo around but he did know Junhui, Jun was a nickname. He had had rather strange encounters with the Chinese boy in the laundry room. For example, Jun likes Minghao, the other Chinese boy on their floor. Minghao is an innocent puppy so when Jun flirts, he can’t tell. This frustrates Jun so much, he rips at least one pair of underwear a week to relieve his stress. Mingyu really hopes he goes out to buy more.
Mingyu must’ve spent too much time thinking about his neighbor’s eccentric behavior because next thing he knew Wonwoo was waving a hand in front of his face trying to catch his attention.
“Did I break you?”
“Huh? No, I was just thinking…does Jun ever run out of underwear?”
Wonwoo blinked and burst out laughing. His laugh was infectious and made Mingyu laugh with him.
“How-How did you know?” He asked between laughs.
Mingyu sobered himself up and cleared his throat before answering, “He rips a pair every time I see him in the laundry room.”
“Minghao?”
“Yeah, he’s like
