He's Arrived

One Wish

-Sori's POV-

I got up, stretching slowly. Somehow, the idea of a guardian angel seemed ridiculous. I laughed to myself for thinking such a thing as I got ready for today.

-Leo's POV-

I watched the girl through the monitor quietly as the rest of the members fought behind me.

“Jung Sori? I bet I’d be the best guardian angel for her,” N said confidently.

“You’re too loud,” Ken said.

“You are too!” N said as Hyuk let out high pitched screams. Hongbin and Ravi came up to me.

“Interested?” Hongbin nudged me. Ravi laughed.

“If he’s staring, he’s definitely going for her. Let’s not get in the way. Oi, Leo's gonna take this one!”

I turned to the other members, who had finally shut up. N came up to me, patting my shoulder.

“Good luck out there,” he said. They saw me off and I arrived at her front door. I rang the doorbell.

“Who is it?” her voice rang out from the other side of the door.

“Your guardian angel,” I said.

-Sori's POV-

“Your guardian angel,” the voice on the other side said. I laughed.

“Don’t be ridiculous,” I said as I opened the door and stepped back in shock. “But, wait, you’re—”

It was the boy who was in the recording studio yesterday. The one with the beautiful voice. The one I had made eye contact with. I struggled to find words.

“I’m—”

He pushed his way inside my place, looking around. I shut the door, following him.

“I’m Jung—”

“Jung Sori. I know who you are. Your darkest secrets. Everything,” he interrupted me. I stared at him wide eyed.

“Ok but you can’t just barge into some girl’s place without her permission!” I said as he sat down on my couch. “And how do I know you’re a real angel?”

He looked at me silently, blinking at me innocently. He waved his hand at the floor, where a swirly multi-colored portal looking thing appeared.

“Jump into that, you’d end up where I was before I arrived on your doorstep,” he said. Waving his hand once more, it disappeared. He began to take off his clothes and I rushed to stop him.

“Hey, wait, what on earth are you doing?” I held onto his hands as he was about to take off his final layer. We both looked at each other and the door suddenly opened. Mingyu came in, stopping in his tracks when he saw us.

“Mingyu!” I exclaimed. It was like the entire room stopped breathing. “It’s not what it looks like.”

“Explanation please?” we heard another voice and we all turned our attention to the door, where Minwoo was standing, leaning against it.

“Minwoo, didn’t I tell you to leave me alone today?” I stared as he came in.

“Who are you?” Minwoo came up to Leo, who stared silently at him. Despite being slightly shorter than Leo, they both stood tall as they glared at each other. Leo began pushing Minwoo towards the door.

“I ask that you don’t bother Sori again,” he said quietly before shutting the door in Minwoo’s face. As Mingyu's jaw dropped, Leo turned to Mingyu.

“I have something to show Sori. Please leave.”

“No, wait! Mingyu, stay in the kitchen first. Invite Taemi over. Cook something. Go hurry,” I pushed Mingyu into the kitchen and took Leo to my room.

“Okay, what is it?” I said, both curious and excited. He didn’t say anything, just turned his back to me and took off his final layer of clothing. A gust of wind rattled everything but when I was able to open my eyes, all what I saw were a pair of grand angel wings coming out of Leo's back.

“Whoa,” was all I could say. Before I could think any longer, I had blurted out “Can I touch them?”

He nodded and I came over, touching the wings. They were soft feathers, creating a sparkling effect. When I was done, he put on his clothing again, the wings shrinking and disappearing. He came over to me.

“Do you believe me now?” he asked gently and I nodded. We walked outside, where Taemi was sitting on the couch, staring wide eyed at Leo. She immediately pinned him to the wall, a finger about to go up his nose.

“Who are you? How do you know my Sori? Can I trust you because I definitely don’t trust No Minwoo!”

After calming Taemi down, Leo made up a story of how he came to be. I grinned sheepishly at Mingyu, who was listening intently to Leo's story but glanced at me often.

“So you’re a transfer student and your parents knew Sori's parents? And they sent you to live with her,” Taemi summarized his story and he nodded.

“I start tomorrow,” he said and I had a sudden thought. But what about the paperwork? As if he could read my mind, he added, “The paperwork’s already done as well.”

He sent me a look out of the corner of his eye and I didn’t say anything. After Mingyu and Taemi left, I sighed.

“How am I gonna keep this up with Minwoo around?” I asked the window.

“I’m here now, you have no need to worry,” Leo said. “This is why I’m here isn’t it?”

“Well Minwoo’s on a different level of persistence. It’s quite amazing really,” I said as Leo created a bed out of midair, placing it next to mine. “I don’t even know why he’s so interested in me.”

Leo stopped, shifting furniture around, looking at me. “He sees something you don’t.”

“Something I don’t see?” I repeated and Leo shook his head, continuing whatever he was doing. “Anyway, are you hungry?”

“A bit.”

“Shall we go out for dinner? As a welcome to your first day in the city?”

“Why not?” he said, snapping his fingers and changing instantly. I rushed to find an outfit.

“Just because you can change with a snap doesn’t mean—”

“I’m patient. Take your time, we’re in no rush are we?”

I found an outfit in no time, throwing it on and opening my bedroom door. He got up from the couch, taking my hand and dragging us out the door. As we waited for the elevator, I couldn’t help but think about something.

“Hey Leo, you can move stuff without touching it?”

“Yes, I can,” he said, demonstrating on the vase of flowers next to us.

“Can you do it with people too?”

“Nope,” he simply said. The elevator doors opened, revealing none other than Minwoo. We all froze, staring at one another. After a minute, Leo dragged us both in.

“No Minwoo, this is the highest floor already. I think it’s your stop isn’t it?” Leo pushed him out, the doors closing on his mystified face. We got out in the lobby, catching a bus right as it was leaving. We sat down but gave up our seats to an elderly couple, who gladly took it.

“Look honey, aren’t they sweethearts?” the grandmother nudged her husband, who gave us grins.

“Take care of her okay?” he told Leo, who nodded.

“Of course.”

We got off at the next stop, where the night market was.

“I hope you don’t mind this place, I didn’t know where to take you…” I said. He seemed dazzled by the many lights so I took his hand, dragging him along as I walked. We became full on the samples given to us, the people behind the stalls favoring us greatly. As we sat down, eating a pizza, I saw how childlike Leo actually was, despite being 6ft and cold looking. He looked at me, his cheeks full of pizza and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“You look like a hamster,” I poked his cheek as he did the same to mine.

“You look like one too, with or without food in your cheeks.”

“It’s called baby fat, which seems nonexistent on your face,” I said, pouting. After we finished eating, we found ourselves at a playground. I sat down on the swing, Leo sitting on the one next to me.

“It’s getting dark, we should head back soon,” he said after checking his watch. I nodded as we walked, sitting down at the bus stop. I checked the schedule for it.

“It’ll be here in about 10 minutes,” I said, yawning. Leo drew my face closer to him so I was leaning against his arm. “Leo, I’m not sleepy.”

“Yes you are,” he said with a chuckle as I let out another yawn.

“I’m sorry, I woke up too early today,” I said. All he did was chuckle softly.

“Close your eyes Sori,” he said and I did so without another word.

-Leo's POV-

I saw her close her eyes, sleep coming over her instantly. Her head dropped but I caught it, shifting her so her head was in my lap. Checking around us carefully, I concentrated, teleporting us back to her room. I tucked her into her bed, where she muttered stuff under her breath.

“Yah, No Minwoo…” she mumbled, drifting off after. I shook my head, getting into bed and staring at the sky from her window, where the stars were. How are you guys up there? I closed my eyes, sleep coming quickly.
