The sun was shining brightly as she stepped out of the airport. She fixed her sunglasses as she eyed for someone to arrive when her phone suddenly rang. She let out an irritated sigh as she lazily went through her purse to shush the device. She didn’t even bother looking at the caller’s name; obviously she knew who it was.

“Sunny.” She said without even hiding her irritation.

“Where the hell are you?” answered the caller from the other line.

She ran a hand through her hair and repeated the same question, emphasizing each syllable to make a point.

“Wow. No need to be cold and threatening, Sica. You’re ruining this perfectly bright and—“

“Whatever. Just come here already.” Then she hung up the phone.

It’s been a while since she went back. She sniffed some air and felt nauseous. She roamed her eyes and looked at the view. Everything looks so familiar yet she feels like a total stranger.

She never liked it here.
