DAY 390
It’s been a month since the incident. My shoulder wounds was healing.
The day that murder attempt happened was still vivid in my memories. I remembered facing the assailant. My guards had difficulty in reaching my side since I was in the middle of the panicked crowd. Everything happened so fast. I might have good reflex but avoiding such close range sudden attack was impossible. Yet when I was preparing myself for the blow, a shadow slipped in between me and the attacker.

“Of course, it pleases me greatly, my lord,” you said, hurt was evident in your eyes yet I wasn’t sure anymore if that was true or fake.
“Please, let me accompany you to rest,” you added, reaching for my hands and lightly squeezing it.
I heaved a sigh before letting you guide me towards our bed chamber.
“What did you mean with your previous question, honored husband?” you straightly asked.
I turned around, my gaze piercing into yours. “You knew about the assault, didn’t you?”
Your eyes narrowed slightly, “Are you accusing me, my prince?”
“Just answer me, wife!”
“No,” your voice was so frustratingly calm. “I was asking you to stay away from the c
