[ final ]

it's snowing pretty heavily outside. sungyeol glances out the frosty window, pure white snow is falling and the barren trees are standing proudly in the distance. he sighs contently, closing his eyes as he bathes in the warmth of the heater in their dorm.

it's 31 december, new year's eve. and he's left alone in the dorms because his schedule ended early and the remaining six members were out busy. 

just as the thought of them crosses his mind, he hears the door creak open. 

"about time! it's nearly midnight --" sungyeol jumps up from the couch, but when he turns to look at the door, he sees the six members standing there either with stupid grins or sheepish smiles on their faces.

"what? what is it?" sungyeol asks, as the members slowly step into the dorm and close the door behind them. 

"we have a surprise for you!" dongwoo sing-songs, laughing loudly, earning a nudge from myungsoo and snickers from hoya.

a surprise? sungyeol quirked his brow in confusion, what could that possibly be? 

he eyes his boyfriend, whose cheeks are awfully red, as he nervously steps forward to stand infront of sungyeol, while the other members whisper and nudge each other as they watch from the side. 

he hears woohyun (at least he thinks it's woohyun) whispering a hushed "someone record this" and a few shifting sounds as they fidget to get their phones out of their pockets. 

"what's this about? can someone say something? it's kind of making me nervous," sungyeol admits as he laughs a little. 

myungsoo, who's standing a small distance infront of him, flashes him a small smile. "there's no need for you to be nervous, i should be the one that's nervous. and trust me, i am very nervous." 

sungyeol raises his brow yet again, "what do you --" 

"sungyeol, we've been dating for almost four years now. and it's been nothing short of amazing, spending these four years with you as my boyfriend..." 

sungyeol hears a soft meow, and spots byeol walking out of the room to witness this as well. myungsoo seems to have noticed the appearance of their cat, because he pauses and smiles.

"and we've done so many things together, we've even taken care of byeollie together. we've stuck by each other throughout the ups and downs, and..." myungsoo trails off, in a deep, shaky breath. 

"and i want to spend the rest of my life with you." 

sungyeol feels tears filling his eyes, his heart pounding in his chest, "myungsoo, are you...?"

myungsoo slowly gets down on one knee, reaching into his jeans pocket to pull out a small blue box. 

sungyeol hears a couple of sniffs from the other members and realises that he himself is crying as well, tears rolling down his cheeks nonstop. 

"sungyeol, i know christmas is already over but...will you merry me?" myungsoo smiles, looking somewhat sheepish for the lame joke but he lifts the lid of the blue box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. 

sungyeol sobs, using the back of his hand to wipe his wet cheeks, "oh my god, myungsoo! yes, yes i will marry you!" 

myungsoo grins and somewhere in the background, the members are squealing and cheering and sobbing. sungyeol hauls myungsoo up and gives him a tight hug, sobbing uncontrollably onto his shoulder as he squeezes myungsoo's waist. 

and in that moment, everything felt right. with sungkyu, dongwoo, woohyun, hoya and sungjong's support, with byeol's meows, with sungyeol holding myungsoo in his arms, with myungsoo smiling against sungyeol's chest. everything was perfect, and none of them could have had it any other way. 

Ive actually wanted to end this fic like this ever since i wrote the first chapter :,) its amaxing that i finally get to do it! thank you all for reading and subbing and commenting and voting this fic! i really appreciate it! we've come to the end of In a Moment like this, but dont worry, i will be writing even more in 2016! happy early new year and i hope you guys enjoyed this final chapter!
