Jungkook was sitting on his bed, eyes fixated on the television screen but his mind was elsewhere. He couldn’t concentrate on the show that was playing and didn’t even know what the show was all about. He only decided to turn on the TV trying to drift to somewhere else, but it didn’t work.

          He was worried for Taehyung. What if he tries to kill himself again? He was scared for Taehyung. He can’t afford to lose him. Please don’t let anything happen to him. He thought before he lied down and drifted off to sleep.

          He was woken up by the sound of banging on his door. He rubbed the sleep off his eyes as he walked towards their door. When he opened it, he let out a surprised yelp when he saw Taehyung sprawled on the floor. He held on the brunette and pulled him up for him to stand.

          The younger was trying to guide the drunk brunette inside but was stopped when the said brunette held onto both his cheeks and leaned closer. Jungkook’s heart stopped. Is he going to kiss me? He thought. His thoughts were answered when a pair of soft, chapped lips met with his own.

          Jungkook didn’t have the time to think about the kiss because the older pulled away. The younger thought that maybe, finally, the older would return his feelings but the words that came out of the brunette’s lips as he pulled away shattered that little hope he had left. “Jiyeon” the older whispered before he fainted.

          The raven-haired boy caught Taehyung just in time and carried him towards his room. He slowly placed the now sleeping brunette on his bed and covered him in blanket. He stared at the sleeping face and whispered, “Why are you always hurting me?” he took a deep breath and continued “But why can’t I seem to stay away from you?”

          He stood up to head to the shower when he heard his voice. “I’m sorry” the sleeping brunette whispered. Jungkook thought that the older heard him, but thought otherwise when he saw that the brunette’s eyes were still closed. “Jiyeon-ah, I’m sorry.” A realization hit Jungkook hard. Of course it’s about Jiyeon, it is always about Jiyeon.

          “I couldn’t…” the brunette mumbled in his sleep “…protect you.” He continued as a tear slipped from his eye. Jungkook bent down and wiped the tear with his thumb. “Hyung, it’s not your fault.” He whispered to the sleeping male as if he could hear him. “It was never your fault” he continued as he continued to the older’s face. “It’s mine.” He whispered.

           Jungkook locked himself inside his room hoping to forget the fact that Taehyung and Jiyeon were out on a date again. He knew he should be used to it by now. It’s already been 2 years since the two got together but he still could not get over the fact that his bestfriend – also known as the man he’s been in love with for years – is dating his sister, his TWIN sister.

          He knew that it was also his fault that the two met but he didn’t exactly know that it would lead to his heartbreak. He was sprawled on his bed as he furiously texted Jimin – the one person who knew about his undying love for Kim Taehyung – about Jiyeon and Taehyung’s date.

          They continued texting about random things when he heard a knock on his door and before he could open it, a wild Jiyeon appeared. “Jungkook!” she yelled. “Jiyeon!” he replied, yelling. The smiling Jiyeon jumped on his brother’s bed and smiled at him. “Okay spill” Jungkook said when Jiyeon made no move to talk and just stared at him with a creepy smile on her face.

          Jungkook wished he didn’t let his sister talk because what came out of broke his heart. Jiyeon talked about how her date with Taehyung went. How they went to the cinemas and stuff like that. How Taehyung bought her a stuffed toy and how they wore couple items. Jungkook continued to listen with a smile he forced to put on. It was a slap in the face, but he wasn’t mad at Jiyeon, she didn’t know he loved Taehyung and he hoped it stays that way.

          When Jiyeon finished her monologue, she yawned and told her brother she was sleepy. Jungkook laughed at her and ruff
