“Hyomin unnie?”

“Oh Hyunnie! How’s practice?” Hyomin asked. SNSD has been busy practicing because they will represent the school for the National Competition.

“It’s very tiring. We’ve been practicing hard but we feel like it’s not enough.” Seohyun said.

“I know you can do it. Fighting!” Hyomin cheered.

“Thanks Unnie. Are you here to buy snacks?”

“Yup.” Hyomin answered as she chooses a bunch of snacks.

Seohyun also went to choose a lot of snacks making Hyomin look at her. “Ahh…the unnies asked me to buy the snacks. But most of these are for Soo unnie and Yoona unnie.” Seohyun explained her two bags of snacks. “Did you buy for the Student Council unnies as well?”

Hyomin raised her bag of snacks and said. “Nope all mine.” She answered with a toothy grin.

“Mwo? Unnie you can eat all those?”

“Neh”

“You’re a shikshin just like Yoona unnie and Sooyoung unnie! I didn't know that there will be other shikshins.”

“Hahaha I am and so are Boram unnie and Jiyeon.”

“Jinja?! If we all eat together in a restaurant, I bet they will run out of food because of you guys.” Seohyun commented.

“Hyunnie…are you suggesting we all eat together?” Hyomin asked in a teasing manner.

“Unnie…” The maknae whined making Hyomin laugh.

The two decided to walk together as Seohyun walk to the practice room. Hyomin does not mind because she still has spare time before her Council duties. Hyomin helped the younger girl carry the snacks because Hyunnie ended up buying three bag of snack and drinks. The two kept chatting… well Hyomin eats while chatting and walking.

“Why is Hyunnie taking so long?” Sooyoung asked.

“Did she get lost?” Yoona asked.

“It’s because she went all alone to buy your snacks. None of you ever went to help her.” Taeyeon said.

“She’s buying ALL OUR snacks. Why didn’t YOU go with her?” The two shikshins fired back at the leader.

“Would you dorks stop it… Either you stop whining or you go help Hyunnie.” Boss Fany said.

The three shut up as well as the rest knowing that Hell Fany is about to surface if they don’t stop. The girls are stressed out because none of they all wanted to have the perfect performance but they are still lacking. Out of all the girls, Fany seems to be the most stressed out.

“Why is Hyunnie taking so long?” Yoona whispered to Soo.

“Shhssh… Fany might here us.” Soo replied.

“I’m going out to help Hyunnie!” Yoona announces as she stands up.

“I’ll go with you!” Soo seconded.

“I’ll go with you…” Taeyeon said as well making all the girls look at her… “You know… just in case these two decided to wander off.” Taeyeon explained. The truth is they needed a breather or more like to stay away from Hell Fany is about to break lose.

Fany looked at Hyoyeon and Yuri to check if they were also going to help Hyunnie. The two shook their heads even if they don’t want to be left alone with Hell Fany. The two gave longing looks to the three begging that they be taken with them. The three mouthed “Mianhe.”

But suddenly the door opened, “Food is here!” Seohyun announced in a cheery voice. Obviously she was not aware of the atmosphere inside the room.

“Hyunnie!”The five dorks cried as they all went to welcome the maknae who, as if, has been gone for ‘years’.

“Unnies?” Seohyun was a bit confused with her unnies very very warm welcome.

“It’s because…” Yoona started but then she felt Fany’s gaze on her so her rephrased what she planned to say. “It’s because we are all so hungry.”

“We’re sorry we let you go alone. We were on our way out to help you.” Taeyeon said.

“It’s ok Unnies. I had help.” Seohyun said.

“Huh?” The unnies asked. Fany was somehow curious as well.

“Hi” Hyomin greeted from the back with a dorky smile and raising the bag of snacks in her hand.

“Hyomin ah!” The five dorks went to give their warm welcome to Hyomin. These dorks has not been seeing each other for a week because SNSD is busy preparing for the competition.

“Why are the two of you together?” Yuri asked.

Fany who was still sitting inside shot her head up when she heard that Hyomin came with Seohyun. She remembered the scene the last time they were together and her cheeks started to feel warm. She feels embarrassed every time she remembers it. She admits that she has not seen the girl since that day. It was because her friends keep teasing her after that day.

Her friends keep teasing her that Hyomin and her look cute together. They suggested that Tiffany should consider dating Hyomin or someone who shows her face rather than her ninja who has no plan of revealing herself. But Tiffany is loyal to her ninja and dismissed the thought. However, Tiffany started to feel a bit uneasy upon knowing that Hyomin came with Seohyun. She is curious of one thing… what is Hyomin doing here? She was thankful Yuri asked the question.

“I saw Hyomin Unnie at the canteen earlier buying snacks.” Seohyun answered.

“Neh I was feeling hungry so I went to buy some snack and then I saw Hyunnie sweeping the whole rack of snacks.” Hyomin answered.

“Hahaha it’s because of these two.” Hyoyeon said pointing to the two shikshins.

“Here are your snacks. I better get going. I don’t want to interrupt your practice.” Hyomin said.

“Ani! You’re not interrupting anything.” The five dorks said almost all at the same time. They all knew that they will be encountering with Strict Fany or maybe worse Hell Fany after Hyomin leave.

“Yes, we are still on our break and going to eat our snacks so join us.” Taeyeon invited.

“I still have some council duties to do. If I’m late, I’d sure get some from Sso.” Hyomin said.

“Unnie didn’t you say that you still have some spare time? So join us.” Seohyun said while the five dorks keep nodding. “I’m sure Fany unnie wouldn’t mind, right?”

“What? Why me?” Fany was brought on the spot by one other than the beloved maknae. “I don’t mind.” Fany said.

“Great!” Everyone cheered. The girls formed a circle with the snack in the middle.

“Here” Hyomin put her bag of snacks in the middle as well.

“Wow you bought so many.” Yoona said while eyeing the snacks.

“Actually that is just half of it. Hyomin Unnie finished the other half while we were on our way here.” Seohyun said making the girls shocked knowing that there is another kind of Yoona and Sooyoung.

“Our fellow shikshin!” Yoona and Soo both went to hug Hyomin as if they found they’re long lost sister.

The girls started to dig in while Tiffany was being all stiff and quiet but not rude…just a bit awkward. Hyomin, on the other hand, seems to be taking it well... eating well proving that she can keep up with both Yoona and Sooyoung. Hyomin is laughing and joking with the other girls. Seeing this, Fany think that maybe she is taking it more than she should be. Fany decided to just not think too much and just enjoy her snacks.

Tiffany’s favorite drink is the strawberry juice which the only strawberry juice happens to be near Hyomin. She kept asking why it has to be near Hyomin. She couldn’t ask the other girls because some are running around, some are doing some awkward dance, and some are chatting and laughing. So Fany decided to just forget about the strawberry juice.

Tiffany saw when Hyomin picked her strawberry juice. To her surprise, Hyomin is giving her the strawberry juice.

“Ummm… for you.” Hyomin said while still holding the strawberry juice in front of surprised Tiffany.

“Umm…no it’s fine you can have it.” Fany said. She was being shy all of the sudden.

Hyomin made a mental slap after she realized what she has done. She knew that strawberry milkshake is Fany’s favorite because Fany always drink it during their midnight date. It has been her habit that she will open Fany’s drink for her.

“How did you know that is Fany’s favorite?” Yuri asked. The girls knew that strawberry milkshake is Fany’s. No one ever dared touch it because they don’t want to witness Hell Fany.

“Umm… I… I don’t. I just picked it because it’s nearest to me.” Hyomin gave a made-up reasoning. “This is your favorite drink?” Actress Hyomin asked Tiffany as if she didn’t already know.

“Umm… yeah.” Fany who has been put into the spotlight again took the drink. “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.” Hyomin replied with her signature smile.

A smile all too familiar to Tiffany Hwang. Fany was staring at Hyomin’s smile.

Hyomin realized this and made an excuse, “Omo! I forgot the time. I should get going or else Sso will kill me.” Hyomin rushed.

The girls bid goodbye. A certain girl drinking her strawberry milkshake kept thinking about that smile.

Later that midnight

Fany was quiet. It was because her friends again with Hyomin. She was asking whether she should stop seeing her ninja and go with someone who, according to her friends, shows her face.

Her ninja nudged her lightly to get her attention. Fany looked at her ninja who is giving her a snack.

Tiffany remembered the scene earlier. She mentally cursed her friends for teasing her with Hyomin. The girl and the moments with this girl have been bugging in her mind lately. Fany shakes her head to get rid of the thought.

Her ninja asked if Fany was ok.

Tiffany gave a smile and started eating her snack. She wanted to enjoy her date with her ninja. They were laughing and giggling that Fany noticed her ninja’s smile again.

She remembered Hyomin. Hyomin beautiful smile earlier. Her ninja's smile reminded Fany of Hyomin. 

Tiffany shakes her head because Hyomin is invading her mind again. She shouldn't be thinking about Hyomin or anyone else for that matter when she is with her ninja. Fany thought that shaking her head will get rid of Hyomin.

Suddenly they felt droplets of water. It started raining. The two rushed inside Fany’s room. Fany gave a towel to her ninja so the other can dry herself.

Her ninja held the towel and raised her eyebrow.

“Ani… it’s not because I wanted to see your face.” Fany said “Ok yes I wanted to see your face so badly. But I can wait. Because I rather that you don’t get sick. So dry yourself.”

The ninja smiled.

Fany was hoping to see her ninja’s face. Finally the moment she has been waiting for. She must thank the rain for this wonderful moment.

But her ninja placed the towel on Fany and dry her instead.

Tiffany Hwang pouted because she thought she’d see her ninja’s face but then this act was rather sweet… her ninja was drying her hair. Both were smiling and giggling.

They stared at each other’s eyes. Who knows for how long they have been staring at each other.

Her ninja put the towel down without breaking eye contact. Her ninja opened then closed it. She took a deep breath.

Tiffany was anticipating what was going to happen next. When she saw her ninja started untying the mask, Fany gasped. “Are you going to show me who you are?”

Nods. At first Hyomin never has the intention of revealing herself to Tiffany. She never thought that they would reach to this. That she will grow feelings for the eye smile girl. Hyomin’s obsession with ninja has been long gone but she continues to act like one because she wanted to spend time with Tiffany.

She had the chance to reveal herself earlier. She had so many chances but she let them all passed because she always gets nervous. But now, Hyomin finds the strength to reveal herself to Tiffany Hwang.

“Tiffany” Fany’s father called out.

The two looked at the door and saw that the door knob was moving. Fany’s father will be here in no time. The two panicked. Hyomin decided to leave.

“But it’s raining.” Fany said out of concern.

Her ninja smiled and went out even though it was raining.

“Fany, is someone inside?” Her father asked as he went in.

“Huh? Why would there be anyone else here?” Fany denied.

“I thought I heard you talking to someone.”

“There’s no one inside here but me…and you Appa.”

“I see… well, I just came here to check up on you. It’s raining hard and I’m afraid you left your window open again.”

“I’m ok Appa. I closed the window.”

“Arasso. Goodnight dear.”

“Goodnight Appa.”

After Fany’s father left, Fany jumped to her bed and let out a muffled “AAAAHHH!” She’s frustrated with her father. Her ninja was about to reveal herself but her father decided to come in the perfect timing!!!

“Tiffany, are you alright? I thought I heard you scream.” Her father came in.

“Ahh I’m ok Appa. I… I… just realized that I was caught in the rain and that I have to shower again.” Fany made an excused.

Her father though confused with her daughter’s odd behavior, decided to leave her daughter alone.

Tiffany let out a laugh after her father almost caught her. She remembered the moment she shared earlier with her sweet ninja. Her ninja was drying her hair while they were standing facing each other and looking at each other. Tiffany smiled widely and hugged her pillow tightly. She can’t stop feeling all giddy because of her ninja. Oh how Tiffany Hwang loves the midnight rain.
