Tiffany lies on her bed while watching the night sky. She loves that she gets to have the attic to be her room. She had her bed place right under the glass window so that she can watch the night sky while comfortably lying on her bed. Tiffany was getting tired of watching the stars from her window. She wanted to go out to experience watching the stars from the roof or somewhere she can sit comfortably. But she is afraid that it might be dangerous to be out around midnight plus she might fall from the roof. So Tiffany held that thought keeping her safety in mind.

One night Fany is feeling more aggressive like she can take more risks. So not wanting to let any chance go by, Fany stood up from her bed, reached the window lock and quietly opened it careful not to make any sound that could wake up her parents. Voila! Now the window is opened. She pulled on a chair and placed it on her bed. Steadily, she stood from her chair that made a few shakes. She released a long breath once it steadied. She opened her breath and around. It was breathtaking. She was being surrounded by stars. It was a way better view than from her rectangular window. Wanting to stay a bit longer but feeling tired of standing and balancing from the chair, Fany decided to pull her body up to sit on the roof careful not to let the chair fall from the bed.

It’s the perfect moment. Tiffany could wish that it would not stop.

But…

Most of the time perfect moments are always being ruined by something or… someone.

Tiffany’s perfect moment was cut short when she heard a thud from behind. She looked back and saw… she wasn’t sure what she saw but it looked like a shadow. Looking closely, it was a human shadow. She wasn’t sure what to make out of this weird thing. If this person is a burglar or maybe if this is a real person maybe it’s a vampire or some sort. But Fany, though slightly scared and alarmed did not panic at all.

Meanwhile the other person or shadow was in this awkward pose. Surprised to see a girl seating by the roof at midnight, the ‘shadow person’ almost slipped off the roof which explains the awkward pose. It was rather weird but hey, if you can have access to sit on the roof and watch the stars then why not. Not knowing what to do whether to jump off and disappear from the girl’s sight or just passed by her like the girl wasn’t there at all.

“Hey…” Tiffany whispered out. It was loud enough for both of them to hear since it was a quiet night. She wasn’t sure if it was a good idea calling that person out or maybe she should have ignored that person and pretended not to see anyone. “Are you human?” She asked. She knew she sounded so weird and perhaps stupid but she gotta know for sure.

The ‘shadow person’ who was now standing tilted its head with the question. Not sure if this girl is asking what she just asked.

“Well I have to know for sure. So?”

Still finding it weird having this conversation, the person gave a thumbs up.

“So we cleared that out. Are you a burglar or a thief?” Fany continued.

The person tried to stifle a laugh before giving a thumbs-down.

Fany saw this and find it cute. Actually, she finds this new person she met cute yet she doesn’t know why. “Are you here to hurt me?”

The person gave another thumbs-down.  

Tiffany broke into a smile and even giving her famous eyesmile.

The person almost slipped after seeing this famous eyesmile.

Tiffany finds it so adorable. “Come here and join me.”

The person looked back to make sure who the girl was referring to.

“It’s only the two of us here. I doubt if there will be anyone outside when it’s midnight and I doubt that there will be anyone else in this roof other than the two of us. So come join me.” Seeing that the other just stood there, Fany continued, “It’s not like I’m gonna hurt you. I just thought it will be fun to have some company.” Still having no response, she said “Yah! Are you still not going to join me? Unlike you, it’s my first time to sit here so I can’t stand, walk or even jump on roofs so please don’t make me come there.”

The person was not sure but still walked towards the rather insistent girl.

When the other was standing beside Tiffany, Fany looked at the other and noticed the all black tight outfit. She smiled then tapped the space beside her.

“So you’re a girl.” Fany started with a smile. “I know it’s dark but I can still see from your tight black outfit.” Fany continued with a small smirk.

The other girl nodded.

Fany has so many questions she wanted to ask. She is very curious about this other girl.

“I am Tiffany. What is your name?” Fany asked while playfully swinging her legs.

Not wanting to answer, the girl scratches her head that is not itchy at all and which is rather covered.

“Arasso, I’ll call you Ninja since you are kinda dressed like one.”

The girl immediately gave a thumbs-up.

“Haha you like it? Are you a ninja?”

Thumbs-down.

“Then why are dressed like one? Unless you like to be one…”

Thumbs-up.

“Ahh…so that’s why you are not talking. And just giving me hand signs.”

Nods twice.

“You’re not mute are you?”

Shakes head.

“Well I am going to make you talk.”

The other tilts her head while eyeing Fany as if challenging her.

Fany was lost in the other’s eyes. Yes she can only see those eyes… Recovering herself, Fany replied, “Yes, I will maybe not tonight but tomorrow night I will.”

There was this awkward air for Tiffany it was like she just indirectly asked a stranger-wearing-a-ninja-outfit-whom-she-just-met-in-the-rooftop-at-midnight-for-a-second-date.

“Well…ummm… I am sleepy. I will go to sleep now. Goodnight.” Tiffany said. She rushed to jump on the chair making it wobble. She closed her eyes tightly readying herself for loud fall but instead she felt warmth in her hands.

Fany found her (yes, she claims ninja girl as hers) ninja girl holding her hand helping her steady so that she and the chair won’t fall. She broke into an eyesmile again and said the sweetest “Thanks.” Only to be replied with a few nods with no eye contact to which Tiffany Hwang still finds it cute. She knew her eyesmile has worked its charms again.

Still holding Tiffany until she safely gets down from the chair. “Thank you. Goodnight.”

Nods and about to leave.

“Wait! Umm… I’ll see you again tomorrow right?”

Nods.

Tiffany breaks into her widest smile. Even after an hour, she kept thinking about the event earlier. She only had a few hours slept before the alarm went on. She has to get ready for a whole day class yet still she didn’t mind thinking that it’s going to be a great day.

The class ended and Tiffany couldn’t wait to go home. She plans to catch up for some sleep before meeting up her ninja girl later at midnight. (Yes, Tiffany claims her as her ninja girl).

“Fany! Where are you going?” Taeyeon asked.

“Home” Fany answered.

“Did you forget about our meeting today?” Replied Taeng but after seeing a confused Fany she continued, “We have a meeting with the student council today for the school event, remember?”

“Oh that’s today? I forgot.” Fany admitted.

Taeng gave Fany a look.

“What’s with the look Taeng?” Fany asked.

“Well, it’s not like you forgetting this kind of meetings.” Taeng answered.

“Yes, so not yoyu Fany, so what’s up?” Soo asked.

“Nothing. Can’t a girl forget something?” Fany defended and started walking ahead.

The rest exchanges knowing looks. They will sure try to find out what’s going on.

Meanwhile in the Student Council Room:

“So everyone’s here?” Soyeon, the student council president asked.

“We are still waiting for the student performers.” Qri answered.

“Thanks Qri. I believe they are on their way here. So we all prepared for the meeting?” Soyeon asked her members.

Four “Yes.” Were heard.

“Yah! I only heard four yeses. Who here didn’t answer? Don’t tell me Ham Eunjung is asleep again?” Sso asked.

“Yah! I am wide awake. Stop accusing me!” Eunjung whined dramatically.

“Minahe. Then who…” Soyeon didn’t get to finish her question as she saw a certain council member soundly sleeping. “This is very unlikely.” She would have expected it to be Eunjung who’s sleeping but not this girl.

“Yah! Park Hyomin! Wake up!” Sso called out.

In her sleepy voice, “Has the meeting started?”

“Not yet but we are about to anytime soon.”

“Give me a few minutes.” Hyomin requested going back to slumber.

“Yah don’t you dare…”

“But Unnie I am very very sleepy…”

“It’s not my fault you stayed up so late. Why did you even stayed up so late?” Sso asked but no answer from Hyomin.

“Maybe it’s her new project of night photography. She told me about it last time that she wanted to take pictures of the night sky.” Qri answered.

“Ohh…” They all knew Hyomin is passionate about photography

“I think that’s not it. It’s her new obsession with ninjas.” Boram said.

“What?” “Ninja???” The rest asked unbelievably.

“Yes, the other day we went to the library and she borrowed all these books about ninjas. Not to mention those she returned that same day. And we all know how Hyomin can be…”

They all know Hyomin is weird but ninja obsession is beyond weird. But it’s Hyomin they are talking about… They could only shake their head because of this weird girl. It’s a good thing that the student body doesn’t know about this side of the student council otherwise they might lose every respect given to them.
