Before midnight, Tiffany was staring at the plastic bag full of snacks on her bed. She spent almost half an hour choosing a snack to buy. She ended up buying a whole bag of snacks. She could not believe that her friends have so much influence on her even when their teasing her.

Fany is having a hard time choosing which snack to bring with her. She does not know how much time has passed until she saw that it was 5 minutes before midnight. Fany picked the choco pie snack and hid the rest under her bed.  

She placed four choco pie snacks that could fit her pocket before opening her window. While going up, she was greeted by her ninja girl with a friendly wave before helping her up. Fany blushed at the sweet act. It’s a good thing that it was night because her flushed cheeks were not so obvious.

“Have you been waiting long?” Fany started the conversation. She was trying not to be awkward. Why does she sound so awkward when they have been meeting a couple of midnights already?

 Shakes head.

“So you just arrived…”

Nods.

Awkward silence……. (especially Tiffany)

So like any other midnights, they sat there enjoying each other’s company while watching the night sky. But not Tiffany who was playing with her fingers not sure what to do. She’s doubting whether to push with this idea or not. It looks lame. She was going to throw the snacks back to her room when she thought of it as a way to see her ninja’s face.

“Umm… I thought…”

The other waited for Fany to finish what she wanted to say.

“Well…” Fany really wanted to jump back to her room and hide under the blanket because of embarrassment. It was until she realized that it was a chance for her to see her ninja girl’s face. So she took a breath and continued, “Here. I guess we could eat something while we talk. Since you might feel hungry… like me.” Fany said though the last part was a total lie.

The other nodded a few times making Tiffany smile.

Tiffany anticipates as her ninja will remove her mask. To her dismay, her ninja only removes the mask covering . Half of her ninja’s face is still covered but Fany is not complaining because she could not stop staring at her ninja’s pink thin lips.

Sensing that she has been staring for so long, Fany said “Oh yes here” while giving the snack.

Her ninja mouthed “Thanks” and smiled.

“You’re welcome.” Fany replied with her signature eyesmile.

Oh yes, Tiffany Hwang has decided to bring snacks from that midnight on. She also made a mental note to thank her friends.

Fany also discovered that her ninja loves to eat and concluded that she’s a shikshin like Yoona and Soo. A lovelier shikshin as compare to her friends.

Their conversation was filled with more giggles and stifled laughter. They were giggling when Fany noticed some crumbs left on her ninja’s lips. Without thinking, she reached out and wiped the crumbs accidentally brushing her ninja’s lips with her thumb.

They were both shocked. Tiffany can feel that her ninja stiffened in the sudden contact. She was equally shocked by her action that she does not know what to do.

She felt her ninja touched her hand. “Oh I’m sorry it’s just that there were crumbs left there and so I...” She explained.

Tiffany’s heart skipped a beat when her ninja squeezed her hand as if saying it was alright. It skipped another beat when her ninja broke in a smile. She does not know how long has been staring at that smile. She could stare at it forever. Oh how she hope that her ninja will have more crumbs left of for Fany to wiped off. The thought made Fany embarrassed so she looked away. She looked back when she felt another squeeze on her hand. It was then that Fany realized that they have been holding hands all this time. The longest time they have held hands.

Seeing that Tiffany was staring at their hands, the ninja felt embarrass probably realizing the same thing. Feeling embarrassed with her action, she started to retract her hands. But seeing through this, Fany smile and held tighter not letting go.

Both with flushed cheeks, they held hands while watching the stars. Or was it the stars watching them.

The Student Performers, School Press are all gathered in the Student Council office for one final meeting before the school event.

“Is everyone here?” Soyeon and Student Council President asked in her authoritative voice.

“Not yet.” Answered Taeyeon. “One of our members, Tiffany Hwang is not here yet. She’s assisting Ms. Han for some papers.”

“I see.”

“But she’ll be here soon.”

“Arasso.”

“Hey Tae, it’s a good thing you didn’t rat Fany out that she was caught not listening so Ms. Han had her do some student assistant job.” Hyoyeon snickered.

“Haha… Fany would have killed us all if we do that.” Yuri said.

“Shh… unnies, be quiet. The council might hear us.” Seo said.

The Student Council has been known to be very strict.

“Actually, Hyomin is also not here yet.” Eunjung said.

“I’m here!” Hyomin announced. “Am I late?”

The rest of the council tried to hold stifle their laugh because of Hyomin’s antics. Everything that Hyomin does is just plain funny even if she does not intend to.

“Ani, the meeting has not started yet.” Soyeon said in a monotone voice. (she was also trying so hard to wear that poker face)

Hyomin was going to enter the room when Soyeon stopped her. “Hyomin, will you please go to the Teacher’s room and excused Tiffany Hwang from Ms. Han? So we can proceed with our meeting?”

Hyomin had no choice but to follow Sso’s orders. Maybe it’s her punishment for being late.

“It’s because you’re the one already standing… so I thought it’s more convenient if you go to represent the Student Council.”

“Arasso.” 

Hyomin went to the teacher’s room and knocked. She politely greeted the teachers and went to Ms. Han. She saw Tiffany on the other side of the table busy sorting out papers. “Ms. Han, may we excuse Tiffany Hwang?” Hyomin asked.

Tiffany jolted up upon hearing her name. She saw Hyomin from the Student Council talking to Ms. Han.

“I see… you have a meeting for the school event tomorrow?” Ms. Han asked.

“Yes, Ms.” Answered Hyomin.

“Arasso.” Ms. Han called Tiffany who almost ran towards the teacher. “Ms. Hwang you are excused right now. Please pay attention to class from now on.”

“Yes maam. I won’t do it again.” Fany replied.

The two bowed before leaving the teacher.

“Thank you for saving me back there.” Fany said.

“No, don’t thank me. Soyeon asked me to excuse you for our meeting.” Hyomin replied.

“Still thank you. It was really boring.” Fany whined.

“Why were you there?” Hyomin asked.

“Ms. Han caught me not paying attention to her class.” Fany answered smiling. She knew she was wrong but she can’t help but smile because she remembered that during that time she was thinking about last night’s moments with her ninja girl.

“Oh…” Was all Hyomin can say… She does not know what to say maybe because she got used to not talking when with Tiffany. And she has no plans of revealing that she’s the ninja she’s been meeting every midnight.

“Don’t get me wrong. I am not happy about what I did and being punished, it’s just that…” Fany didn’t get to finished what she was about to say because she does not want to mention anything about her ninja girl.

Either of the two didn’t know how to start another conversation so they just walked their way to the meeting room in total silence.
