Rays of sunshine landed on my eyes as I stretched my arms upwards. I let out a loud groan and turned to my side, wanting to hug Dara tighter but next thing I know it, the huge space beside me was completely empty. My eyes popped open as I jolted upwards, immediately wondering where Dara was. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around the room but she was no where to be found. 

I slid my legs over the bed and immediately took off, not bothering to look at my obvious bed head and ugly morning look in the mirror. 

Once I got out of Dara's room, I was immediately welcomed by the maid who was about to knock on the door with a breakfast tray in her hands. I looked down at the tray and furrowed my eyebrows, "Do you know where Dara is?" The maid looked at me and smiled, bowing her head before answering. She nodded her head and said, "Yes, young master. Young miss went to the doctor just fifteen minutes ago and she told me to serve you breakfast before she went." 

I blinked and bit my lip, "Oh, alright. I'll take this, thank you." 

I took the tray from her hands and saw her flustered face. "A-Are you sure you got it, young master? I-I can place it inside young miss' room for you so you can eat." I chuckled and shook my head, "No, that's fine. Thank you." She blinked and immediately bowed at me before walking away. When she left, I sighed and shook my head in disbelief. 

Why did she go alone? I thought as I opened her room door and walked towards the couch and placed the tray down on the coffee table. 

However, once I placed it down, I saw a yellow note beside the utensils. I raised my eyebrow as I picked it up from the tray and opened it, just to see a neat handwriting. 

I'm going out for a while and I told the maid to serve you breakfast. Please eat before you leave home. 

And thanks for last night, Jiyong. I appreciate it. 

Dara

A small smile erupted from the corners of my mouth. I chuckled and sat down on the couch, unable to take my eyes off from the note she wrote for me. I looked at the breakfast and couldn't help but shake my head as I let out another chuckle. And here I am, thinking you forgot about me, I thought with a smile.

I heaved a deep breath before entering Dr. Kang's office. However, when I opened it, I was welcomed with not only Dr. Kang but also Daesung. I furrowed my eyebrows and wondered what he was doing in his office. Did he have another appointment before me? I blinked and looked at Dr. Kang, "Oh, I didn't know you were still with someone. I'll just come back when both of you are done." 

Dr. Kang chuckled and shook his head, "No need, Dara. This is my son and I believe you've met him before, right? Well according to him you have."

Son? Daesung is Dr. Kang's son? I thought as I bit my lip and nodded, "Ah, yes. I've met him through... my fiancé." Dr. Kang let out a smile before gesturing me to come in. I nodded my head and closed the door quietly before taking the seat right beside Daesung. Daesung looked at me and gave me a smile, "Dara-shi..." 

I returned his smile and said, "Dara noona should be fine." 

I knew being formal with Jiyong's friends would be awkward so I took the initiative to open up a little bit. It was definitely unusual for me, but I knew I could trust Daesung. Daesung smiled even wider before chuckling, "Ah, neh, Dara noona..." 

Dr. Kang chuckled and said, "Now, how are you doing Dara-ah? Are you... alright?" 

I looked at Dr. Kang and had to force a smile before sighing. I couldn't lie to him. It just didn't feel right; mostly because he has been the best doctor I've ever had. He was everything to me; my physician, my oncologist, my psychiatrist, and probably the best uncle I have never had. So I shook my head and bowed my head, "...no, I'm not okay." 

His eyebrows furrowed and couldn't help but let out a sigh. 

"I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Did you talk to your father about it?" He asked. 

I clenched my jaw and shook my head, "No." 

"I know it's not going to be healthy for you to talk to him, especially when I know his personality inside and out," Dr. Kang stated. I nodded my head in agreement, "Setting that aside, have you noticed anything weird? Any bruises? Any dizzy spells? Or the same symptoms you had when you were young?" He asked. 

I looked at him and back at Daesung. 

"L-Last night... I saw several bruises on both my legs," I muttered as I lifted the long dress I was currently wearing to show him the bruises I had. Daesung turned to me and looked at the bruises and bit his lip, his face contorting with worry. "As I've said from your last appointment, we have to do several X-rays and see if we find any other body parts that have blood clots." 

I nodded my head and felt my heart starting to race. 

"Do you feel tired?" He asked. 

I gulped and nodded my head, "Yes. Even though I've had enough of sleep, I feel very much tired. Earlier today, I was going to take a shower but I felt my breath shorten. It was as if I was fighting for air," I explained as I tried to recall all the moments I've experienced those from the past and present. He sighed and nodded his head, "Dara, I know this may be too soon for you but I need you to stay at the hospital for a while." 

And that's when I realized it was that bad.

I watched Dara noona exit my father's office, crestfallen. When she closed the door, I couldn't help but frown. I looked at my father who looked just as upset as I was, "It's that bad?" I asked quietly. 

My father looked up at me with a small smile, "I'll do anything, Daesung." 

I realized how bad it was; her condition. Now that I knew how bad her condition was, I felt sad for Dara noona and Jiyong hyung. Why did her cancer have to reoccur? From the things I've heard from my father, it seemed like she suffered a lot back when she was younger too. From all the people that's been diagnosed with cancer, why did it have to be Jiyong hyung's fiancée?
