Fourth Game
Endless Game“I’m so glad you didn’t got send any pictures today,” Hee-Jin said happily as the group neared the school.
“Me too,” Dia admitted, happy that she could be fairly sure no one broke into her house yesterday.
“And you are going to have a new lock today, right? So you will be safe again, right?” Hoya asked her, not feeling good about it at all.
“Yes, everything will be fine after today,” she tried to reassure her friends, not really succeeding because she wasn’t that sure of it herself. When they reached the lockers they separated, their lockers weren’t near each other.
“I’ll see you in class!” Dia waved to her friends. Her locker was closest to the entrance, so she reached it quickly. Close to her locker she noticed Minwoo, who was also getting his stuff from his locker. They greeted each other briefly, Dia instantly turning towards her locker. When she opened it however, mud and water came pouring out of it. It stained her school uniform badly, her once white shirt now a muddy brown and her black skirt feeling wet and yucky. She squealed in surprise, then in anger. Her books, her archery material and everything else she had kept in her locker had been ruined.
“What happened?” Minwoo asked as he heard the older girl’s scream.
“Ugh, I, well, this,” she pointed to herself and her locker, overflowing with mud.
“Gross,” Minwoo exclaimed pulling up his nose in disgust. “But, wait. This isn’t my fault, right?” he then asked, now looking genuinely worried.
“Why would this be your fault?” Dia eyed him suspiciously.
“Because I told those scary girls you would get them. What if they did this because of that?”
Dia smiled, shaking her head. “I don’t think they would do something like that.”
“But who would do something like this. You’re so dirty! You can’t go to class like this!”
Dia sighed.
“I don’t think I have a choice.”
Minwoo’s eyes were full of pity, but then suddenly started to sparkle.
“I Have an idea! My class has P.E. later today. You can wear my tracksuit. I’ll just tell the teacher I forgot.”
“You don’t have to do that! I can’t get you in trouble as well!” Dia said shaking her head. “I’ll be fine.”
“Noona…” Minwoo started carefully. “You really don’t have much of a choice. Your blouse is becoming… well… see-through.” Dia looked down in surprise, only to notice he was right, the mud and water did not mix well with her white blouse.
“Thanks,” she thanked her dongsaeng when he handed her his tracksuit. She held in in front of her chest and practically ran toward the bathrooms to change. She had just changed when her cell phone buzzed.
You are mine, don’t forget it.
She had expected it to be Hee-Jin, asking what was taking her so long, but it was her stalker again. Does this mean he did this? Who else could have done this? I have no other enemies, as far as I know. Sehun? He wouldn’t go this far, I’m pretty sure.
“Feeling sporty?” Sehun smirked as she entered the classroom in a tracksuit.
“Something like that,” she could only manage to reply.
“What happened?” Hee-Jin asked. “You took so long, and, that wasn’t what you were wearing when we arrived, right?”
Dia sighed. “I think the stalker messed with my locker. It’s not a big deal.”
“What happened exactly?” Hoya demanded more information.
“My locker was filled with mud and it spilled on my uniform.”
“How did you get that tracksuit? We don’t have P.E. today, right?” Hee-Jin suddenly worried she might have forgotten her tracksuit.
“Minwoo lend it to me, he was around.”
“Why was he even there? I guess we have another suspect,” Hoya said aggressively, also eyeing Sehun suspiciously.
“His locker is near mine, that’s why, jeez,” Dia replied, not wanting to admit that she also suspected the dongsaeng and pretty much everyone else right now.
“You could have worn my Basketball outfit, you know,” Hoya just muttered, but Dia had no time to reply as the teacher had entered the classroom.

“I’m sorry you got cleaning duty for a whole month because you didn’t have your books,” Hee-Jin said. Dia sighed.
“It can’t be helped. I’ll buy new ones today, the old ones are ruined.” She sighed once more. “I guess I’ll have to skip practise.”
“You can always go and leave earlier?” Hee-Jin suggested.
Dia nodded.
“I guess that would be best. Donghyun oppa is going to be pissed. I better run over there and tell him what happened.” And with that, Dia dashed off.
“Oppa, I’m so sorry!” Dia bowed deeply when she reached Donghyun. He frowned.
“What for? And why are you wearing a tracksuit?”
“I need to leave earlier, because I need to buy new schoolbooks. It was the stalker.”
“You’re leaving earlier? You know how important regular practise… wait, the stalker again? You have to watch out, he shouldn’t be able to do these kind of things. Be careful, if you leave early, I can’t go with you.”
“That’s fine, if I don’t leave early, the stores are going to be closed.” Dia smiled.
“I’ll be careful!” she added seeing the worry on her senior’s face, then started to practise.
------------
The next morning she arrived at school early for her cleaning duty. She yawned as she walked towards the closet where the brooms were stored. There, she found Minwoo taking a broom from it.
“Why are you here?” she asked, surprised.
“Ah, noona. I got cleaning duty for two days because I didn’t have my tracksuit with P.E. yesterday,” he explained.
“I’m sorry,” Dia said, looking down. “I washed it and brought it for you,” she handed him a plastic bag.
“It’s okay, it’s just a few days. Why are you here, noona?”
“Didn’t have my books, because of the mud. Cleaning duty for a month.” She sighed.
“Anyway, I better start cleaning, before I get into even more trouble.” And with that Dia grabbed a broom and started sweeping.
“Practising to become a wife?”
Dia turned around annoyed, only to find Woohyun standing there.
“You don’t really think I’m doing this because I want to, right? Why are you even at school? You aren’t in any clubs right?”
“I’m not in any clubs, you’re right. I’m just early because I felt like it,” Woohyun smiled and walked away.
---------------
Saturday, during practise Dia was way too nervous for her date with Myungsoo the next day. Her arrows were off, never quite reaching the middle of the target. Luckily for her, this time, she did not hit herself.
“What are you thinking about today? You’re never this sloppy. Is it the stalker again?”
She had been so lost in thoughts, she hadn’t even noticed Donghyun had been watching her for a while, and startled by his voice, she shot her arrow meters above the target.
“Yah! Watch it, that’s dangerous,” Donghyun scolded her.
“It’s because you scared me, oppa” Dia pouted. “And it’s not the stalker, I’m just…”
“Tired from getting up early for cleaning duty?” he finished the sentence for her. Dia smiled.
“That one, yes.”
“Better rest well tomorrow. You need to be awake next week, when we’re going to the karaoke with the first years.”
“Like anyone would want to hear me sing.”
“I do. It’s hilarious.”
“Thanks. I guess..” Dia sighed softly and Donghyun patted her head.
“At least you’ll be entertaining everyone. Besides, it’s just to make the first years feel welcome, and I’m sure my co-captain can do that perfectly, right?” he then said.
“I doubt you’d need me for that. You can sweet-talk the girls into joining with no trouble,” Dia raised her eyebrows, causing Donghyun to laugh.
“Go practise! And focus! I can’t allow this sloppy shooting.”
---------------
Sunday, Dia was up early. She had gotten used to getting up early from her cleaning duty and today was the day of her sort of date with Myungsoo oppa. She was looking forward to it. He had said they would just be making pictures, but she was feeling better then she had ever since the stalking incident had started. What should I wear?
“Hello?” Hee-Jin’s voice came through her phone still a bit sleepy.
“Please come and help me? I’m going out with Myungsoo oppa and I have no idea what to wear.”
“I’m on my way!” Suddenly her friend sounded very awake.
When Hee-Jin arrived in Dia’s room, her clothes were spread out all around her, and she herself was sitting on the floor, definitely panicking.
“It’s a good thing you gave me a key, why didn’t you open the door?” Hee-Jin complained. Startled by the sudden sound, Dia looked up, scared.
“It’s just you. You scared me! I didn’t hear the doorbell…”
“Maybe it’s broken again?” Hee-Jin suggested. Dia nodded
“That happens a lot, yes.”
“Now, what’s the problem? And you are going on a date? Why didn’t you tell me?” She pouted.
“It must have slipped my mind, with the stalker and such. And it’s not a date, he wanted to take pictures of me and I have no idea what to wear.”
“Just wear something cute?”
“That’s easier said than done.” Dia sighed again and Hee-Jin started to look through her clothes.
“How about this?” Hee-Jin held up a simple black dress.
“It makes me look too pale.”
“You are pale. Alright, this one?”
“Too dressy. We’re going to a park…” Hee-Jin laughed as her friend kept finding faults in all of her clothes.
“Alright, you’re wearing this.” Hee-Jin held up a cute blue dress.
“But…”
“No buts. It’s perfect. It’s cute, it’s casual and it suits you, so you’re wearing this, no complaining!”
Dia smiled and took the dress from her friend.
“Alright. I’ll go change.”
“What do you think?” she asked uncertainly when she was done changing.
“You look good. Now go!”
“But I’ll be way too early… wait, it’s already twelve thirty? I gotta run, thanks for your help!” Dia hugged her friend and ran off.
When she got to the fountain where she was supposed to meet Myungsoo, he was already waiting, taking pictures of the fountain.
“I’m sorry I’m late!” she said, looking down apologetically, trying to catch her breath.
“You’re not. You’re right on time. Did you run?”
Dia nodded and Myungsoo smiled.
“I could’ve waited you know, you didn’t have to rush.”
“I didn’t want to make you wait, but I guess I failed,” Dia ran her hand through her hair, trying to get it back in shape after running.
“I just got here early. The fountain looks good in this light. Shall we take some pictures here?”
“Sure,” Dia nodded. “Just tell me what to do.”
With Myungsoo coaching, Dia tried posing near the fountain and in the rest of the park.
“Don’t look so scared! It’s just a photo,” he tried to make her relax.
“I’m not too fond of photos,” Dia admitted.
“Then why did you come?”
“Because you said you would make pictures I would like. I never like pictures of me…” Dia looked at the ground, and Myungsoo snapped another picture.
“You look so pretty when you’re not thinking about the camera. Just trust me, I’m sure you’ll like them. Leave it to me.”
Dia smiled, honestly thankful.
“I think that should be it,” Myungsoo said smiling, after a few hours of shooting. “Unless you have any other ideas?”
Dia hesitated for a second, before saying softly:
“Can we take one… together?”
Myungsoo didn’t look too excited about that prospect.
“If you don’t want to, then let’s not,” Dia quickly said, smiling weakly.
“I just prefer taking pictures over having pictures taken of me,”Myungsoo explained.
“Weren’t you the one who tried to convince me that the pictures you took would be good? Shouldn’t you trust yourself then?”
Myungsoo smiled.
“I guess you are right. If I take it, it should be okay.” He then sat down next to Dia, moving a bit closer to get them both in the frame. She felt herself blushing happily when she felt his body touching hers. Once he had taken it, he showed her the picture.
“See,” Dia commented. “It looks good.”
Myungsoo just smiled and nodded. He then asked:
“Can I use the pictures I took today in the next exhibition of the photography club?”
Dia looked surprised, but nodded.
“But why me?”
“What do you mean?”
“Why would you use me as a model?”
“Because you’re so pretty. Pale and flaming red hair, different from everyone else. The perfect model. Besides, you’re also awkward and cute. What’s not to like?”
“I’m not sure whether you are complimenting or insulting me,” Dia laughed shaking her head.
Myungsoo looked a bit embarrassed.
“Sorry,” he said, scratching the side of his head.
“It’s okay. I’ve heard worse, much worse,” Dia said laughing.
“Why would someone insult you,” Myungsoo muttered. He then looked her in the eye.
“Want to go eat something? It’s already quite late and since you’ve been my model today, it’s my treat.”
Dia smiled happily. “Yes please!”
Together they walked to an Italian restaurant.
“I hope you like Italian food,” Myungsoo said hesitantly when they had arrived.
“I do, I love it,” Dia assured him and the boy sighed relieved.
While they were eating, they actually talked for the first time that day about something other than poses and lighting. Instead they discussed books and the new school year, both getting excited when talking about their club activities.
After dinner Myungsoo walked with her to her house, saying goodbye at the door. “I’ll show you the pictures once they are done! Then you can help me decide which ones to put in the exhibition. If you want.”
“I’d like that,” Dia smiled and then they waved goodbye, again.
Dia went to bed happily after the fun day she’d had with Myungsoo. She received the usual good night text from her stalker, but this time, she wasn’t even bothered by it. She wasn’t sure whether she had gotten used to it, or if it was because her day had been this much fun.
She slept well, peacefully. The next morning just as she was about to grab some food from the fridge, she got another text.
She read the text, fear filling her eyes, and suddenly she heard glass breaking. Turning towards her window, from which the sound had come, a big rock hit her straight in the face, making her pass out. She was still holding her phone in her hand, the text on her screen:
! I told you you were mine. I won’t allow this.
