Third Game
Endless Game“When I was asleep yesterday, did you guys… see anyone… take pictures?” Dia asked softly as she and her friends walked to their classroom.
“Pictures? Of what?” Hee-Jin asked. “Wait, don’t tell me, someone took pictures of you?” Dia nodded.
“I got send them by the… stalker,” she then admitted.
“He is still stalking you,” Hoya said agitated. “It was in our class, so it must be that bastard of a Sehun.”
“But if it’s pictures, it might be someone from the Photography club,” Hee-Jin said.
“So, you didn’t see anyone, then?” Dia asked her friends. They both shook their heads.
“We didn’t see anything. Sorry,” Hee-Jin apologised.
“Don’t worry about it.” Dia smiled, but it was weak. The picture she had gotten that morning had shook her up pretty badly. When they entered the classroom, Sehun shouted some of his usual insults at her, but she didn’t reply.
“What’s with her today?” Sehun muttered as Dia ignored him, something she hadn’t actually done all that much over the years.
How did he get in my house? Was it a break-in? The door looked fine though. At least I get a new lock tomorrow. I wish they could have done it today. I’m scared. Why would he go into my house?
During the lunch break, Hee-Jin asked Dia and Hoya to sit with Xiumin’s friends together. She wanted to keep her friend closer now she was sure the stalker was still around.
“You have your friends with you today?” Woohyun said happily. “My name isn't Sully, but you could be my Boo,” he then directed his line to Dia, knowing that saying this to Hee-Jin would cause Xiumin to kick him again. Dia just rolled her eyes, but Hee-Jin got excited:
“OMG, that’s from Mosters Inc. right? That movie was fun! I just love Disney movies!”
“We should watch them sometime. Ouch!” Woohyun suggested and immediately got kicked by Xiumin under the table.
“We should!” Hee-Jin said, not noticing Xiumin scowling jealously. Then, remembering Dia’s stalker she started:
“Can I say something crazy?”
Xiumin looked at her seriously, but Woohyun winked at her and started: “I love crazy.” Hee-Jin immediately got where he was going with that and started to sing softly:
“All my life has been a series of doors in my face, Then suddenly I bump into you.”
Woohyun went on to sing with her the famous Disney song, with each sentence they were singing louder, leaving the others to look at them as if they were crazy. As they reached the end of the song, Woohyun kneeled down in front of Hee-Jin:
“Can I say something crazy? Will you marry me?”
Hee-Jin smiled and started: “Can I say something even crazier?” At this point Xiumin smacked his fist down on the table.
“No you can’t!” The jealousy was clear on his face even if he did try to hide it.
“I only love Xiumin,” Hee-Jin the finished, sticking out her tongue. This caused everyone but Xiumin to laugh. Xiumin did seem relieved after hearing her affirm her love for him and had started to smile again. They then ate their lunch peacefully, Hee-Jin already forgotten she wanted to talk about Dia’s stalker. That was, until they noticed Myungsoo walking around with his camera once again, taking pictures of everything.
“I still wonder who took that picture,” Hee-Jin started. “Was it taken from close?”
Dia searched in her phone, than decided to show the second picture she had received. She handed her phone to Hee-Jin and whispered: “He was in my house.”
“It’s a cute pic tho… Wait, what? The stalker was in your house!?”
Dia just nodded.
“They are changing my lock tomorrow.”
“I’m staying with you tonight!” Hee-Jin decided.
“Wait, you want to stay in her house, where a stalker appeared?” Xiumin asked disapprovingly.
“I’ll join,” Hoya commented.
“That makes it so much better,” Xiumin said sarcastically.
“Then join us,” Hee-Jin said excitedly, “We could have a big slumber party!” This made Dia smile. Even if something bad had happened, Hee-Jin could always give it a positive turn.
“Sounds like fun. I’m in,” Woohyun decided. “What time should we meet?”
“Wait, we’re really going to do this? I have practise first,” Dia said.
“I have football practise as well,” Xiumin said.
“Basketball for me,” Hoya also said.
“So, I guess you have some sort of club too?” Woohyun asked Hee-Jin.
“Nope,” Hee-Jin shook her head. “Cheerleading was fun for a while, but too tiring. And they told me I needed to keep a strict diet. Just no.”
“How about everyone just comes to my house after they are done with practise?” Dia proposed.
“But then you might be alone. How about I go after school, I have your key anyway. Then I can let everyone in,” Hee-Jin countered.
“You are not staying there alone!” Xiumin said. He didn’t want the crazy stalker to hurt his girlfriend. “Shall I skip practise and stay with you?” His comment made Hee-Jin blush a little. She liked the idea, but still shook her head.
“You shouldn’t miss practise.”
“I’ll join you,” Woohyun said. “I’m not in any clubs and we can watch Disney movies. It’ll be fun.”
“Let’s do that, then,” Hee-Jin smiled happily.
“You’d rather be with Woohyun than with me?” Xiumin muttered, too soft for anyone to hear.
This concluded their lunch break. The new arrangement made for tonight caused Dia to worry about the current state of her room. Woohyun and Hee-Jin would arrive first, which meant Dia had no time to clean anything up. Was it a mess? She couldn’t even remember anymore, she had been too preoccupied with the text messages. She shook her head to get the thoughts out, trying to focus on her lessons. At least tonight I will be safe.
---------------------------------
She said goodbye to Hee-Jin after class and walked toward the archery range. While walking through the hallway, she suddenly came face to face with Myungsoo.
“Found you,” he smiled and continued: “I have a picture of you.”
Dia’s eyes widened in fear, but then her look softened as she realised which picture he was talking about.
“The one from when I ran into you?”
“That’s the one,” he handed her a print of the picture proudly.
“I look so flustered!” Dia commented.
“You don’t like it?” He suddenly sounded cold. “I thought it was a pretty good picture.”
“The picture is good, the lighting and such, it’s just the model that I’m not too sure about,” Dia admitted.
“What are you even saying? I think the model is what makes this picture. That look of shock, surprise and confusion is priceless.”
“Somehow, it sounds more like an insult than as a compliment,” Dia laughed a little.
“Does it?” Myungsoo once again suddenly sounded distant.
Dia nodded.
“I thought I’d give this print to you, but if you don’t want it….”
“I want it! Please let me have it!” Dia pleaded, she really wanted a picture made by her crush. This caused Myungsoo to chuckle.
“Of course you can have it, you’re in it.” He handed her over the picture, smiling proudly.
“Thanks,” Dia smiled back at him, and got ready to walk further again.
“You know,” she heard behind her, so she stopped walking and turned back to face Myungsoo again.
“Hnn?”
“If you want to, I can take pictures of you you do like, sometime. Maybe this weekend?” He didn’t look at her when he spoke.
“For real?” Dia asked, surprised. This sounded a lot like a date.
“Would Sunday be okay?” she then asked him and added: “I have practise on Saturday.”
Myungsoo nodded.
“Let’s meet at the fountain in front of the station at one?” He still didn’t look at her, but a smile had appeared on his lips.
“I’m looking forward to it!” Dia said and smiled as she walked toward the archery range.
“You’re late,” Donghyun noted as she arrived.
Bowing deeply, she apologised.
“Something happen again?” Donghyun inquired.
“Too much,” she said and then said: “Sorry for worrying you.”
“I wasn’t worried,” Donghyun denied, but his face betrayed his true feelings.
“Thanks!” Dia just said and started preparing her bow. Like yesterday, quite a few first years had shown up, which was a good sign.
Today, Dia was practising her own shots, rather than watching over the first years. She had been too focussed to noticed Minwoo standing near her, watching her.
“Why aren’t you with the first years?” She asked him, shaking her head disapprovingly when she finally noticed him.
Minwoo looked at her with a smile and answered her:
“It’s because the scary girls don’t bother me when I’m with you. They are afraid of you.”
“If even scary people are scared of me, what does that make me?” Dia sighed and shook her head once more.
Minwoo looked at her innocently, thinking about what she had said for a while. He cocked his head to the side and replied:
“I guess it makes you even scarier. But I don’t mind, because I know Noona is a good person.”
Dia rolled her eyes.
“You just met me day ago, you wouldn’t know anything like that.”
“But you saved me and when I’m with you scary girls don’t bother me. That makes you a good person.”
“Stop your chatting! And Minwoo, get back to the first years, what do you think you are doing here?” Donghyun scolded them from behind. Minwoo looked at Dia pleadingly.
“Noona, please, don’t make me go back to them alone.”
“Seriously?” Dia rolled her eyes once more.
She looked at the target, so far away from her. Thinking about the first years ground, target only 15 metres away she shook her head.
“I’m sorry, I need to practise myself. Just tell them I said to leave you alone, or else,” she shrugged.
Minwoo sighed. “I’ll just say you’ll shoot them if they come near me.” He decided, and started to walk towards the first years.
“Don’t say that! You’ll just make them even more scared of me!” She sighed again. This kid is driving me crazy. Looking so innocent and then saying creepy stuff like that.
Once training was over, Donghyun once again offered to take her home.
“I’m really fi…” she stopped midsentence, then nodded.
“Please do. This stalker thing is getting more creepy with the day,” she then admitted.
When they arrived at her apartment, he stopped her before she could enter.
“There’s light in your house. Someone’s there.”
Dia laughed softly. “It’s just Hee-Jin and Woohyun. They’ve been there since school ended, so I’d never be alone.”
Donghyun looked at her suspiciously, but removed his arm which he had held in front of her.
“You sure?”
Dia nodded. “Thanks though,” she smiled and entered the building.
“I’m home~!” she yelled and opened the door to her house. There she found Woohyun and Hee-Jin sitting on the couch, watching a Disney movie.
“Enjoying yourselves?” she asked, an amused expression on her face.
“Of course! Baymax is so adorable! I love this movie!” Hee-Jin responded.
“Then you wouldn’t mind if I showered first, right?”
“Not if you let me join you,” Woohyun suggested.
“Just stay there watching your movie,” Dia said, rolling her eyes.
“You sure?” Woohyun asked with a smug smile.
“But… Baymax?” Hee-Jin tried.
“I’m very sure. I’ll see you later,” Dia said, locking the door to her bathroom as soon as she had entered.
When she returned to her living room, she found both Hoya and Xiumin had arrived.
“Welcome,” she said to them.
“Nice dress,” Woohyun commented on her new outfit.
“Woohyun wanted to look through your room,” Hee-Jin revealed.
“You what!?” Hoya and Dia said in unison.
“Well, I have of course been in many girls’ rooms, so I just wanted to compare,” Woohyun tried, causing Xiumin to burst into laughter.
“This is the first time you are in a girls’ room?” He said, still laughing.
“Of course not,” Woohyun pouted a little as he lied.
They all laughed at this and it was the start of a cosy evening. They watched some movies before heading to bed, the boys sleeping in the living room, Hee-Jin sleeping with Dia in her own room.
Dia woke in the middle of the night of weird sounds in her living room. Her first instinct was to hide under her blankets, until she realised it was probably just the guys. She opened the door carefully, only to find Woohyun and Hoya excitedly looking through one of her photo books, with pictures of her from when she was small. Xiumin just sat there, looking annoyed.
“Hey, doesn’t this kid in the background look like Xiumin?” Woohyun pointed at a picture. “Look, look, it looks so much like you.”
Xiumin looked even more bothered now.
“Yah! What are you even doing?” Dia yelled. “Stop looking through my stuff like that and go to sleep! I’m never inviting you again!”
“Not even me?” Hoya asked, eyes widened.
“Not even you! Now sleep, geez,” She rolled her eyes.
Bzz bzz
Must be troubling, having to handle so many guys at once. You will probably be tired tomorrow. Don’t wear yourself out. I don’t like to share my girls.
