The first day of school finally ended and Hyejeong packed up her things and walked out the door, not waiting for anyone. She heard

Yu Na calling out her name in an annoyed voice but she only smirked and kept walking. She finally got out of the school grounds and

headed down the road towards her apartment. Hyejeong lived alone as her only parent, her father, had abandoned her, only sending her

a considerable amount money to her every month. It had been like that since her mother died when Hyejeong was only twelve. She did

enjoy the freedom, she couldn't deny that, as no one told her what to do and nagged her about her grades or chores, but she also missed

having that experience.

     "Hyejeong unnie!" she heard a shout from behind her. Hyejeong turned around on instinct, already knowing who it was. Seolhyun was

running towards her, black hair flowing in the wind, long legs taking her quickly to her destination. The girl stopped in front of Hyejeong,

panting. "I - didn't know - you lived around here," the winded girl gasped out. Hyejeong looked down in amusement at the panting girl, a

small smile starting to form on her lips, but she stopped herself, shocked. Was she just about to smile at this girl? What was wrong with

her? She returned the cold look she always wore to her face just in time as Seolhyun caught her breath, looking up at the tall girl. Then,

Hyejeong turned and resumed her walk to her house. She saw the smaller girl fall in step beside her out of the corner of her eye.

    "So, you live around here?" Hyejeong asked in a monotone voice. Seolhyun smiled, delighted that Hyejeong was talking to her.

     "Yes, I live just up the street at the house across from Kang Apartment," Seolhyun explained.

     "Huh, I live in Kang Apartment," Hyejeong murmured, fascinated at the thought of them being neighbors.

     "Really? That's great!" Seolhyun said. She was obviously beyond happy at the thought that her sunbae was her neighbor. "I'll get to see you a lot then!" Seolhyun said, smiling at Hyejeong.

     "I guess we will," Hyejeong said, pleased that the younger girl was so happy about the two being neighbors. The two continued to

walk, silence enveloping them. "Do you usually wear a sweater all the time?" Hyejeong asked, just out of curiosity.

     "Oh - uhm - y-yes," the girl stuttered. Hyejeong didn't miss the younger girl's odd reaction and looked over at her. Seolhyun had put

her hands in the pocket of her sweater, looking away. Hyejeong looked at the girl in confusion but said nothing, obviously, for some

reason, that topic was something the younger did not want to go into. The two continued to walk until they arrived at their destinations. "I'll

see you tomorrow, Hyejeong unnie!" the shorter girl said, her cheerfulness apparently back.

     "Bye," Hyejeong said shortly and crossed the street to her apartment. When she got into her apartment room she sighed, dropping her

backpack next to her desk and collapsing onto her bed. She closed her eyes and then suddenly, the image of Seolhyun's smiling face

suddenly popped up, she smiled and then froze. What was happening to her? What had that girl done to her? She opened her eyes and

shook her head, rejecting what her brain was trying to tell her. The next few months went by in a flash, and everyday, the two, older and

younger, walked home together, becoming closer and closer. And one day, without warning, Hyejeong knew that she had completely

fallen for Kim Seolhyun.
