Promise

As sweat trickled down my face, I sung from the bottom of my heart with all my emotions flowing out. Memories ran through my head and I could feel my tears being so close to falling. What happened to our promise? What happened to We Are One? Are we not worth it anymore? Why did you leave? My eyes were burning, singing the song that was written by us, my brothers and me. This song meant so much to us, all our thoughts, emotions, all the hardships we’ve gone through, all placed into this one song. I could tell, my eyes were getting red and I saw my members trying so hard to keep their tears in too.

The atmosphere was gloomy, the practice room that was once filled with laughter, bright smiles and friendly slaps was now solemn and quiet. We just practiced. For the last few hours, we practiced and practiced to forget but we all knew it wasn’t possible. Kris left us out of the blue and now, Luhan left too. I didn’t know what to do, Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Chen who were always the loudest were now sitting in the corner, staring into space, and I could see Xiumin comforting Tao whose tears were threatening to fall. Sehun sat on my right, trying to be as cheery as possible, D.O and Suho were absentmindedly looking around trying to find a way to brighten up the mood.

“Please, please don’t leave me,” Lay started drumming his guitar.

“Day by day, I feel like I could die,” I stared at Lay as a small but sad smile crept on his face.

“I wish this was a dream,” Baekhyun sung with a low voice.

“If this is a dream, stop right there.”

“Please, please don’t leave me.”

“Please, please come back to us.”

“I keep thinking of the times we spent together.”

“When I walk, walk with you, I think of you.”

“We were meant to be together forever,” One by one, we sung our hearts out and with a few laughs here and there, we made Our Song.

“We are one remember?” Singing the last line of Our Song, I looked at my members, swallowed my tears and smiled brightly.

“Please come back hyung.”
