Chapter 6

Identity Change

Sehun’s P. O. V.

** ** **

I don’t know Suho-hyung’s plan and I’m freaking out.

Really freaking out.

These are real guns. These could kill me.

I am unable to move.

I look at the scene again.

The captive girl tackles the guy who was pulling her hair a while ago.

She kicked him in between…

Owww… That should hurt…

Then she tackles Mr. Kim who is aiming at the woman translator that is now running to where Suho-hyung is.

BANG!

Now where did that bullet hit?

I shake my head. Everyone is moving. I gotta move, too, or I’ll forever think I’m a coward.

But to where?

I see the girl get the gun but the guy tackles her back.

And she’s tackled pretty hard.

Why the hell is there a lot of tackling going on?

Stop this. I’m going to get her and head towards Suho-hyung.

Yes, I run without thinking that some of Mr. Kim’s men will be able to see me.

Screw that.

Yes. I run towards the crime scene.

And here I am, helping the girl stand up.

I feel her body tense up.

Oh, right. She’s hurt. I don’t want to hurt her more so I wrap my arms around her a little softer.

She then looks up and we lock eye contact.

Wow.

I could see her face even with those bags on her eyes and even with those bruises on her face and body.

She’s beautiful.

Her eyelashes are long and her eyes are hazel brown.

And they turn wide, as if recognition strikes her.

Does she knows me?

Then she shouts something. She’s saying something.

English.

Okay. I understand English but how can I think straight when we're still here, waiting to get hit with some bullet?!

I point to where Suho-hyung is.

I guess she understands. She stands up. I’m glad she can still stand up. But I’ll still help her. She can still be limping.

But to my surprise, she goes behind me.

WHACK!

What the hell?!

I turn around. There’s a guy. He’s standing there.

With a bat in his hand.

I see the girl on his knees, feeling her right backside.

Okay, now I’m mad.

I’m supposed to be the one saving her but she saved me from the hit that should’ve been mine.

And more importantly, I can’t believe the guy still swinged his bat knowing the girl would be the one he’ll hit.

I know the hit was for me but I know he could’ve stopped himself.

I would never hurt a girl.

I see a gun on the floor and I pick it.

I watched some movies with guns, too. All I have to do is to aim and fire, right?

But my body’s reacting differently.

I just fired.

I don’t know if it’s luck, but I hit the guy on his right arm.

He’s bleeding.

Gods, I could’ve killed the guy!

I’m freaking out but I’m not trembling.

I just do what I have to do.

I help the girl stand up and guide her. We walk towards where Suho-hyung is.

I notice her looking around.

When we are nearing Suho-hyung, he runs to us and helps me at supporting the girl to walk.

We lead the girl beside the guard then Suho-hyung goes in front of the girl.

“Are you okay? Can you still walk?” Suho-hyung asks.

She looks at the woman translator as if waiting for her to translate, and she does.

She really don’t understand, doesn't she?

I look at the current scene. The police are already exchanging shots with Mr. Kim’s men.

Wait… Where is Mr. Kim?

Out of the blue, the girl hugs Suho-hyung from behind.

BANG!

I search for where that gunshot came from.

And that gunshot came from Mr. Kim who is standing behind Suho-hyung.

BANG!

Another gunshot. From the guard beside us.

He fired. He fired at Mr. Kim.

Mr. Kim is hit on his leg… his right leg.

He was shot by the police, too. And the police is able to get him right away.

They’re putting handcuffs to bind his hands and he is not able to get away because he can’t run.

Suho-hyung turns around to see what's happening.

And the girl…

Oh, god.

She’s been shot!

No, no, no.

There’s too much blood on her body… no. The blood is coming out from her body!

She mustn’t die. She doesn’t deserve any of this…

“Why did you do that?!” Suho-hyung asks the girl. He raised his voice.

And for the first time since this incident happened, I saw him panic.

“You’ve gotten yourself shot!” Suho-hyung cried.

“You… you might die…” Suho-hyung’s voice cracks.

He’s in the verge of tears.

“It’s okay…” the girl finally speaks. She speaks for herself. “I don’t have any reason to live, anyway…”

She’s crying.

Oh my god, she’s crying.

And wait, did she just speak Korean? I understood, right?

I bend down to… cup her face.

She’s crying. I’m sure she didn’t mean what she said.

She wants to live.

I wipe away the tears in her eyes with my thumb. “Please don’t die… Hold on. We’ll save you. Don’t give up…”

Suho-hyung calms himself as he stands and leave the girl in my arms. I hear him call an ambulance.

She’s unconscious now.

No, no. Please wake up!

I don’t know why I became fond of this girl that I don’t even know her name yet. Nor anything about her.

It’s just, when I saw her a while ago fighting… for our freedom… she’s really sincere. And brave.

When you think about it, she just kicked Mr. Kim out from being the CEO of S. M. Ent. through her work.

Since that moment, I knew I owe her so much.

She even saved me from a bat swing a while ago.

She also saved my life.

I hug her. “Please don’t die on me…”
