YongGuk opened. Of course, it was EunJi. The young man smiled at her, inviting her in his house. He faked being fine but his dark circles and bags betrayed him. Again, he had been crying and skipping sleeptime.
"YongGuk... What are you doing to yourself?!"
"What? Nothing." He replied faking confusion.
"Don't lie to me. We lived together for five years, I think I know you enough!"
"Don't remind me that. I know it." His smile vanished to turn into a pityful look.
"Sorry..."
"Anyways, you had to tell me something important?"
The girl felt bad. She called him to tell him the news but she didn't know how to bring it up so she reached the file to YongGuk who took it, frowning. He glanced at EunJi with interrrogative eyes as to say 'Can I open it?' As the girl nodded, he carefully opened the enveloppe with his delicate fingers. He took out the documents and covered his mouth when he saw the first images. His eyes widened as any words coud come out. He revealed a wide smile and teary eyes.
"EunJi! This is.... OH MY GOD! I'm a... FATHER!" He exclaimed.
He placed his hand on EunJi's stomach and was wondering a lot of the baby who was inside her. The baby that was the fruit of their love. Unfortunately, their past love. But he didn't care. This was a miracle. He saw this like an oppotunaty to get EunJi back.
EunJi was too shocked by his reaction to step back. His hand was really warm on her stomach. She still was a bit flat but according to the docter, she wouldn't wait too long before her belly would get bigger. Because it was in her head, because she didn't know, that she didn't gain more belly. She got a bit paranoid after so she kept watching herself in the mirror to see if something had changed.
YongGuk held EunJi's hand and led her to the sitting room. He had a big house because before he was with EunJi, he lived with his friends with whom he was really close to. He didn't kick them out though. They decided by themselves that they had to let them private space.
They sat down an YongGuk took the time to read the documents. He read attentively every detail, every note, every result; and on her side, EunJi gazed around to look how the place she used to live in changed. She stood up and started to walk around.
It was a bit messier than before, piles of files were all around, covering the floor. There were also photos that caught the girl's attention. It was pictures of JunHong, JongUp and all the others. And then, she fell on some romantic photos of YongGuk and herself. A lot of memories resurfaced and that's when a little red box caught her attention. She didn't know if she could the inside but YongGuk was so absorbed in the documents that she didn't bothered asking him permission and delicately opened it to discover a beautiful ring shining, pridely surrounded by a red piece of fabric.
"What are you doing?"
EunJi jumped in surprised.
"Nothing. Why do you have a ring like this?"
Silence
YongGuk looked straight into her eyes.
It hit EunJi with evidence.
"YongGuk.... don't tell me..."
"I know we broke up but know that I know that we're haing a baby together... please." He knelt to the ground and as he took the box back, he presented it correctly to the girl making her heart pound loudly and her head spin like crazy. Her skull felt too small for her brain. "EunJi, please, I'm begging you, marry me."
Tears flew from her eyes. She badly wanted to say yes. It was the only word that flashed in her head like neons. yes, Yes, YES! Instead she kept silent.
"It's okay if you don't answer me now, but please think of it seriously..."
"O-Okay, I'll think of it."
The man smiled and placed the ring on EunJi's finger.
"Keep it for now. Maybe it'll help you make your decision."
EunJi nodded and let the boy embrace her tightly and peck her forhead.
"Cheonsa, know that I will always love you, no matter what. You can call me for whatever you want, whenever you need me and... Just know that you can count on me."
If he said one more word, she would crack. She felt his warm breath on her neck's skin, his hand in the hollow of her back and his heartbeats against her own chest. She started to cry like she never did before. She missed all of him an
