“How do I look, So Eun-ah?”

I looked up from my phone and found my best friend Manhee standing at the foot of my bed, donned in a silver strapless body-hugging mini-dress adorned with sequins that could turn every pair of eyes in the room her way.

I snorted. “Well, I’m sure your date's eyes will be glued on you all night long, Manhee-yah,” I said as I brought my attention back to my phone and went on to upload my most recent selca on my Twitter account.

“And if you got lucky, maybe he wouldn’t be able to take his hands off you too,” I added mischievously.

“Yah! Are you messing with my head, Kim So Eun?! I'm not that kind of girl!” Manhee burst as she approached me and made a fist, acting like she was about to throw a punch.

“Isn’t that what you want? You’ll definitely steal the scene and have everyone’s attention on you. Err…maybe just not the kind that you have in mind,” I teased further when I finally couldn’t control myself anymore and burst out laughing.

“I hate you, Kim So Eun,” Manhee pouted while feigning a look of hurt.

“Ugh. Fine, you win. Does it really look that bad?”

I scanned her from head to toe and got off my bed. “Listen to me, Manhee-yah. It’s a big no-no to wear something excessively revealing on a first date. Men like it subtle. You would want to look y, but still keep your class intact,” I told her while going over my dresses that hung inside my closet. I wasn’t exactly big on dresses, yet I got to score a handful from my previous endorsements. While I rarely wear them, they surely came handy in fashion emergencies just like the one we were having.

“And definitely not sleazy,” I finished as I grabbed a pastel blue sleeveless a-line dress that accentuated the waist and fell perfectly along the knees.

“Tch. Wow, you must really know a lot about men, huh?” Manhee said sarcastically.

“Let’s just say I do know a thing or two about them. Unlike you, who has zero knowledge about the opposite ,” I joked as I handed her the dress of my choice.

“Says the girl whose dating track record is nearly non-existent,” she said matter-of-factly, which earned her a scowl from me. “What? We both know it’s true. In your twenty-five years of existence, you dated only two guys. And for the record, the first one doesn’t count. He’s just one of those puppy loves that should remain as a one-time memory.”
