New Step

As she steps out from Incheon International Airport, she took a deep breath.  South Korea seems to become even more beautiful.  She was so absorbed in her view that she was startled by the car horn.

Sunmi (SM): Unnie, bogoshipo!

Yoobin (YB): Ya pabo, don’t called out too loud! People may recognize me!

Lim who was at the driver’s seat hurry the girls so that they won’t cause disruption to the moving vehicles.

YB: You girls don’t have any schedule today?

Lim (LM): We have a radio schedule tonight. For now manager oppa cleared our schedule.

As their vehicles stopped in the middle of the city while waiting for the traffic lights to turn green, Yoobin suddenly let out a soft sigh but it was loud enough for the two girls seated in front of the car to hear.  Sunmi turned to the left and saw the gigantic screen of ‘his’ latest movie poster. Sunmi turned to Lim, and they both nodded in understanding that their dearest unnie is still hurting.

Wonder Girls Comeback

It was secretly confirmed that WG will be having their comeback in half a year. That is why Yoobin is back. All six of them will be back together once again once all solos and subunit activities are done and completed. WG can’t wait for their new album. Their musical direction will definitely change and awe Wonderful and listeners.

Words have been going around that the WG are having their comeback. People are anticipating a lot.  However people don’t want to believe because they haven’t seen Yoobin back in Korea since 3 years ago.

When news of Sohee’s movie and drama filming wrapped out came up, people already knew what she will be back as a WG member. Sunye’s rejection for a musical role already signifies how important their comeback is going to be. Yeeun who will be wrapping up her promotions soon too have been asked tons of questions on WG comeback. The subunit who consist of Sunmi and Hyerim together with their cute image has taken a drastic turn and gain new found interest.

However one thing remains uncertain. WG resident rapper is still not back.

Korea couldn’t wait for the Queens to be back. The Queens will once again ride on the Hallayu Wave.

Program Show

With the new album rumoured to be due out soon, producers from a variety of TV programme is busy scouting this group. It has been so long since they have been involved in any variety programme. ‘We Got Married’ producers have been hot chasing these girls.

Lo Behold! They managed to get in touch with JYP. And being the eager beaver that JYP is, he of course agreed to have one of the members on the show.

JYP: Yoobin arh, our manager oopas and unnies wants you to join the new season of ‘We Got Married’. What do you think?

YB: Hmmmm, why me?

JYP: Simply because you’re the eldest. Besides you’re 26. I’m sure you want to start experiencing different things. You have been away in the US for 3 years. I’m surprised that when you girls go into subunits and solos, you requested to stay in the states. Since you’re back now, why not challenge yourself into something new.

YB: If I agree to join. Who will be my partner?

JYP: It is a secret. However I have looked at the 4 candidates. All 4 of them are definitely good.

YB: Don’t I at least deserve to know who I am ‘getting married’ to?

JYP: Trust me on this one.

Yoobin realizes that it’s time for her to move on. It’s time for her to delete everything that has been holding her back. Besides her appearance on this show will indirectly inform her fans that she is back in Korea ready to join the Wonder Girls for their comeback.

Hello

Dressed in a simple black Ed Hardy tank top covered with a hoodie and a wash off skinny blue jeans, she was seated at the cafe. The crews already briefed her on the procedures. All she has to do was waiting patiently for her husband to be. She suspected that ‘he’ is an actor since she overheard the crew saying ‘he already on his way, he just wrapped up his filming’. 

Her POV

She looks out the window looking at the heavy rain while sipping on her green tea latte. She can’t wait to start and try new things and let go of her past. She is determined to move on.

His POV

I have no idea who I am getting married to. I was nervous as hell but I’m going to let things flow naturally.  I was told to hide behind the crews. In my dark hoodie, I hope to surprise my bride.

I could see my bride from the back; I couldn’t predict how she looks like since she isn’t facing me. I couldn’t even see her hair. From the look of it, she seems like a fashionista. Very much like her, the woman of my past. The woman I once loved and hurt.  I shook my head to bring me back to my senses.

The PD whispered to me and I took the huge green envelope from him. I slowly and quietly walked towards my bride. For some strange reason I wondered if I actually knew her. As I approached her, I sense something familiar about her.

That’s it, I knew who she was. That smells of the Victoria’s Secret lotion that lingers around her. The Harry Porter book and the green tea latte on the table just confirm it. I was so shock that I dropped the enveloped on the floor.

She immediately turned around and our eyes met..... Oh oh!

Flashback

After a great success in the states, the girls were so happy that Sunmi had completed her studies. She joined back to be an active member of the Wonder Girls. The Korean comeback was so explosives and so were their schedules here.  That was three year back. At that time, both Yoobin and Sohee were in a relationship with Korea’s hottest duo unit or basically TOP and GD from Big Bang.

Long distance relationships were hard enough. Not being able to spend some time with their sweetheart in Korea also has resulted in the series of heartbreaking events for these girls. Shortly before the girls were to have a break before pursuing solos and sub unit activities, both couples have decided to end their relationships. To put it bluntly they got dumped.

What was even more disappointing was the fact that Seunghyun and Jiyong blamed the girls. They accused the girls for being too busy therefore the boys had no choice but to cheat.  The girls acknowledge that they were partly at fault but that doesn’t excuse these boys to sort to cheating them of their feelings.

It was very painful for Sohee and Yoobin but they took it in their stride, except that Yoobin could no longer bear the pain therefore she left for the states as collaborated with a few artist and working as a main producer for JYPE USA. Sohee on the other hand just buried herself with tons of acting jobs and modelling assignments. She is now called the ‘CF Princess’.  She was glad that her acting and modelling jobs doesn’t clash with any of Jiyong’s music schedule.

Their awkward silence probed the PD to ask the both of them to introduce themselves. Still lost in their train of thoughts, Seunghyun managed to greet her.

TOP: Annyeong, Choi ...Seung... hyun inmida. I will be your Hus...band.   (He stutters.)

YB: Annyeong, Kim Yoobin inmida. (She said it fluently yet softly and put her words simply.)

TOP: (He gathers his courage and started a conversation with her.) It’s been so long since we last saw each other. How are you doing?

YB: I’ve been good. How about you?

TOP: Me too. When did you come back? I thought you were still in the states.

YB: 2 weeks ago.

Seunghyun knew she wanted to keep everything short and simple.

TOP: How are your parents and grandma?

YB: (Yoobin eyes turned wide open. She couldn’t believe he asked her this question in front of a camera. The audience may suspect something.) They are fine, thank you for asking.

TOP: I love your collaboration album with Eminem. It was wicked!

YB: Thank you. (She smiles.)

Oh that smile just melts Seunghyun in the knees. When her hoodie dropped back revealing her gorgeous long brown hair couldn’t help but make Seunghyun mouth gapped wide open.  Her collar bone is still well defined. Her lips were as adorable as ever. But one thing for sure, he could sense there was a barrier.

TOP: Oh here’s the envelope the PD asked to open.

Yoobin took the envelope from Seunghyun and opened it.

“Chukae! You are We Got Married latest couple. To share this exciting news. You are supposed to call one of your members and share with them this wonderful news. “

The PD instructed them to put their phone on speakers. They were asked to pick a random stick. On each stick is the name of the member they were supposed to call. Seunghyun picked Big Bang’s leader, Kwon Jiyong aka GD. As the phone rang, Seunghyun grew nervous. He was worried about everything. He can imagine how shocked Jiyong would be. When GD finally picked up his phone...

GD: Neh hyung... whaddup!

TOP: I’m filming right now.

GD: (He noted the situation and greets the viewers.) Anyeong, Big Bang’s leader Jiyong inmida.

TOP: Ji, remember the show that I told you which I’ll be participating.

GD: Oh my god, are you filming We Got Married now? Hyung who is your wife? Is it Yuri or Tiffany?

Yoobin’s disappointed face cannot be hidden. However she still tried her best to be professional.

TOP: Pabo... anni it’s not them.  (Top turns speechless, he don’t know how to describe Yoobin.)

The PD prompted Yoobin to greet Jiyong.

YB: Anyeong Jiyong sshi! How do you do?

GD: (He went silent for a minute...before he exclaimed.) Yoobin noona! OMG I can’t believe this!

YB: Neh, I can’t believe this too. But this is not the confirm pairing because we haven’t decide if we are compatible.

Her words stings so much and that’s when Seunghyun knew she haven’t forgive him. 

GD: (He totally was at a lost for word. He excused himself before this get very awkward.) Hyung, noona I got to go. I was actually in the middle of a recording. Invite me to your wedding ceremony arraso? (He teased.)

TOP/YB:  Arraso (They replied the same.)

Yoobin was super shocked when she picked Sohee’s name on the stick. She knew Sohee wouldn’t be too happy. She prayed that her darling mandoo won’t curse on national TV.

Sohee: Unnie! I have been waiting for your call. So who is the lucky guy? Quick tell me!

YB: Mandoo arh... that person is.... (Yoobin’s voice tone changes.)

SH:  Unnie, Wei... is there something wrong? Don’t you like your husband?  If you don’t like...then tell the PD you want a switch ... (Little mandoo sure knows how to joke.) How about Jaejoong sunbaenim? Kyu Jong sunbaenim? Jo Insung sunbaenim? Yoon Sang Hyun sunbaenim? Heechul sunbaenim? You can try asking for Nichkhun oppa too..... Or.... (Mandoo was cut short.)

TOP: Why not Seunghyun sunbaenim?

Sohee knew that voice. The voice that once was so common to hear especially when they go on double dates with their respective partners.

SH: Oh... anyeong Seunghyun sunbaenim. (She greeted him as a sunbae but for some reason it was very clear to Seunghyun she wasn’t happy.)

TOP: How have you been?

SH: Never better. Unnie so is this your confirm husband?

TOP decided to answer.

TOP: Wei am I not good enough?

SH: Hmmm I am not sure you will be good enough for her? (She giggles away as though she was teasing him... In fact she meant every single word.)

YB: (Somehow she felt bad towards Seunghyun and decided to break the awkwardness.)  Yar mandoo stop stressing him out. I’ll talk to you when I reached home arraso!

TOP: You don’t want to be married to me?  (He asked her playfully.)

Yoobin really wished she could stop the filming. Just before she answered, the PD stopped the conversation and gave them a 20 min break. She quickly excused herself and ran to her van. She felt suffocated. She called JYP and begged for permission to allow her to withdraw from the show but he refused. She couldn’t help but cried in the van.

Without any knock, Seunghyun opened the door. He was heartbroken to see her cry. He himself didn’t know what did he got himself into.

YB: Seunghyun sshi there is such a thing called courtesy. You should have knocked the door.

Seunghyun refused to be hurt by her sarcasm. He got into the van and sat beside her.  She looked away. He knew that he was the one who hurt her initially. But he felt as though Yoobin’s tears is literally saying she couldn’t stand being anywhere near Seunghyun. He felt pissed, irritated and disappointed with her reaction.  And being Seunghyun, his words couldn’t be more childish.

TOP: You’re not happy I was your partner huh! (He provoked her.)

YB:  I did not say that.

TOP: Come on just admit that you are not over me. (He purposely smirked.)

YB: Please get a life Seunghyun! I was way over you for quite a while.

TOP: Right, well your eyes definitely lie when Ji mentioned Yuri & Tiffy’s name.

YB: (She was shocked when she heard Seunghyun call Tiffany by her nick name. They must be close she assumed.) Seunghyun sshi.... (She called softly.)

TOP: (Oh no she is not using the pleading tone on me. It’s not going to work.) Wei...

YB: You don’t have to worry ....I will never be in between you with Tiffany or Yuri.

TOP: And why is that so?

YB: Because I have someone better than you.  (She confidently lied.)

TOP: (No she must be lying.) Right, then so why were you crying in your car? (He asked, demanding for an answer.)

YB: I cried because I worry my boyfriend would be hurt by this show. He meant so much to me more than my pride. (She insisted firmly.)

TOP: Oh... (In all honesty, he is loss for words. He couldn’t believe that she is with somebody now. He couldn’t believe that she is over him.) So will you continue with this show or not? (He question earnestly.)

YB: I will. I promise JYP and the PD. And I am doing it because I am a professional.

TOP: Then I suggest, we start of on an amicable note.

YB: I could do with that. Anyway it’s all for pretence. Everything will end in a year.

TOP: Will it....? (He whispers.)

YB: What did you say?

TOP: Nothing. Come on; let’s get back in the cafe. The staff will be looking for us soon.

With that, the two will embarked on the new show.

@ WG’s dorm

As she lies in her bed, mandoo slowly and quietly crept under the bed sheet.

YB: Mandoo, why aren’t you in bed?

SH: Unnie, I am in bed, well at least I’m in your bed. Ke ke ke. Wei unnie is being in WGM very hard for you?

YB: I don’t know dear. You know maknae, I lied to Seunghyun that I have a boyfriend. He seems happy for me and for some reason I hate that.

SH: Unnie, do you still love him?

YB: Maknae, do you still love Jiyong?

Both girls looks away cause both knew the real answer.

@ Big Bang’s dorm

Seunghyun was slouching on the sofa when Jiyong suddenly jumped besides him.

TOP: Are you trying to kill me?

GD: Hyung chill, I was just playing around! Wooo is being back with Yoobin noona that difficult? We could always switch place. (He teased.)

TOP: (His initial respond was giving Jiyong a smack on the head.) You know I can kill you!

GD: You still love her right.... even though after all these years...

TOP: I don’t know Ji. Remember, I was the one who cheated on her. So I don’t have the right to be like her again.

GD: Of course I remember, I hurt Sohee too at that time hyung? I can’t believe I did that. I just hope one of these days she’ll forgive me.

TOP: You got to work really hard.

GD: Wei?

TOP: Because when she heard I’m getting ‘married’ to Yoobin, she wasn’t very happy. I have a feeling she isn’t going to make things easy.

GD: (A playful smile pries on his face.) I could always help you hyung. But with this going on, do you think you and Yoobin noona will get back together?

TOP: Now... No... She is seeing someone... (He sighed)

GD: She is? How about Sohee?

TOP: I guess all the WG members are... At least Sunye makes it public but I still believe they all must be in a relationship.

The two men sat down on the couch loss in their train of thoughts clouded by the memory they once shared with the women that they have been talking about the whole night. Both man asking them self if cheating and breaking up with the girls were ever the first thing they ever wanted three years back.

With the next filming due on next Friday, everyone wonder how things are going to be like?
