“Sit down, Nathaniel.” Gavin says, gesturing to the seat before him.

Gavin makes me sit at my desk before moving to the other side and sitting down. From his briefcase, he takes out a file. On it was a single word – CONFIDENTIAL

Very few things make me curious but that word – why is that even necessary?

I want to see what is in there. Why won’t Gavin hand it to me? Why does he look at me with a strange and sad? expression

“What’s with the file?” I finally couldn’t resist asking.

Why doesn’t he say anything as he pushes the file across the desk?

I flip open the file.

And the information on me continues on for a few pages. Why is there an extensive profile on me in this file?

Why is there also a wallet-sized photo of a baby?

I flip over the photo looking for clues.

Wu, as in Frederik Wu? He is one of the board members of the council that controls my life. How I hate that word…I know that Frederik Wu is one of the 3 members who have veto power when it comes to decisions.

Oh, it’s her birthday in 3 days.

Why does she have stocks here? I know that the Wu family is very powerful and own several of the world’s biggest and most influential media and fashion companies but why does this girl named Penelope have stocks in Yu Corporation?

From how she looks in her picture, it looks to me like she has never had to worry about anything in her life. How lucky of her. I think sarcastically as I glance at the photo.
