“What about you? Don’t you have anything you’re afraid of?” Eunjoo asked him while they were taking a walk at the garden. Kyungsoo just mentioned that she was afraid of spiders and so she got curious what about Kyungsoo. What could he possibly be afraid of?

Kyungsoo looked tough and all. Is there something he’s afraid of? Eunjoo thought as she waited for him to answer.

Kyungsoo shook his head with a smirk. “I don’t have one since I’m a real man.” He boasted off proudly. “I’m cool right?”

Eunjoo smiled at him as she hugged him. “Kyungie is really really cool!” she exclaimed sarcastically as she buried her face in his sturdy chest.

“That’s right. I’m really really cool.” He nodded as he hugged her back.

But the truth is, there is one thing that he’s afraid of. Ever since Eunjoo woke up from her comatose, the only thing he’s afraid of is something which he cannot change. Tomorrows. He’s afraid of what might happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and that day after that tomorrow as well.

He is afraid that one day Eunjoo might wake up remembering everything. That one day, she’ll come to hate him again like how she did before. And that she will leave him. That is the thing that he is most afraid of.

It’s been nearly two months since Eunjoo woke up. Two months of lies. It may be selfish of him but every night he’s wishing that she won’t be able to regain her memories again. That they’ll be together forever.

But he knows that it’s impossible and yet, he couldn’t stop himself from hoping.

“Kyungsoo.” Eunjoo called him, waking him up from his deep thoughts.

“Hmm?” he asked as he turned to her and he realized that she was looking outside. She was looking at the cars speeding outside the mansion. At the streets. At the lights. The busy streets of Seoul. Everything. She was looking at everything that was outside.

And at that time Kyungsoo knew what she wanted to say and he wanted to avoid it. “Eunjoo let’s go inside. It’s almost 12. Let’s eat lunch. Shall we?” he smiled at her as he cupped her face with his hands, trying to get the best of her attention.

Eunjoo diverted her gaze from the streets towards him. “Can we go outside?” she asks with hopeful eyes.

If only he knew that things will turn out like this, then maybe he shouldn’t have suggested to go and have a walk at the garden.

“I’m busy. I don’t have time. I have to go to the office later. Let’s just go inside.” Kyungsoo constanty tried to change the topic as he grabbed her hand and lightly pulls her inside.

But she pulled back. “It won’t take long. I promise we won’t take long.” Eunjoo pleaded with a small pout.

One of Kyungsoo’s weaknesses is Eunjoo’s aegyo. Who wouldn’t give in to her anyways?

But this time, it’s a no. “I’ll be late for work if I—“

“Then I’ll go alone.” She told him with a smile.

What if she doesn’t come back anymore? Kyungsoo shook his head in distaste. “It’s too dangerous.”

“I’m a grown-up already. Yes. I’ve lost my memories but I still know how to walk on the streets. Nothing bad will happen. Really.” She tried to convince him once again.

She really wanted to go out. Ever since she woke up, she’s never gotten outside yet. She was always always inside the house. And it bores her to death. “Please. Let me go outside. I’ll be gone for like 30 minutes or less. I’ll bring my phone. Promise. I’ll message you every 5 minutes. Kyungsoo, please.”

“Eunjoo, stop being stubborn. Let’s just go inside.” Kyungsoo told her calmly.

“I want to walk around outside. I want to go to the places that we’ve been to. That might help me regain my memories! Isn’t that great? I could—“

“How many times do I have to say no?!” he suddenly exclaimed, his feelings finally taking over him. Eunjoo’s smile faded as she looked at him with confusion in her eyes as if she was asking him ‘why did he have to overreact?’

He didn’t really mean to shout at her. He just, doesn’t like the thought of her regaining her memories back.

He hated the thought of it.

Silently, Eunjoo untangled her hand from his and walked towards the front door without even saying a single word.

And Kyungsoo deeply regretted everything afterwards.

Kyungsoo carefully placed the tray of food at the table near her beside. He turned to look at her. Eunjoo was back facing him. She’s still mad.

“Eunjoo..” he mumbled as he gently sat on the side of the bed. She didn’t answer him. He knew that she was awake. It’s just that she doesn’t want to talk to him yet. “I’m sorry about earlier. I’m really sorry.” Kyungsoo apologized.

But his apology was not accepted. Still, Eunjoo didn’t answer him.

“I brought your lunch. Please eat it. I don’t want you to get sick.” He told her. “I’ll just go to the office then I’ll come back here. Okay? Call me if you need me.” He added as he leaned over to her to kiss her left temple.

“I love you.”

“What’s with the long face?” Baekhyun asked Kyungsoo the moment he arrived at his desk.

“Eunjoo and I fought.”

Baekhyun stiffened at the mention of her name. “About what?”

“She wanted to go outside.”

“Then why didn’t you let her?” Baekhyun asked as he tried to study Kyungsoo’s expressions.

“What if she never comes back?” Kyungsoo suddenly exclaimed. “You don’t get it. I’m afraid that I’ll lose her. Do you understand that Baek?”

“But you never had her in the first place.” Baekhyun whispered in a low tone, but still it was enough for Kyungsoo to hear.

Kyungsoo turned to him with a cold glare. “Are we going to fight over this again?”

“Why don’t you just set Eunjoo free? You love her right? Then tell her the truth.” Baekhyun told him.

“Are you asking me to punch you again?”

Baekhyun rolled his eyes at him. “You’re starting to get on my nerves again.”

Kyungsoo sighed as he tried to be calm. Eunjoo’s already mad at him. He can’t have Baekhyun acting the same as well. He has to fix this. He can’t bear to lose those people whom he really loves.

“How’s your girlfriend?” was the only thing he could think of saying.

Baekhyun turned to look at him. “What?”

“I’m asking about your girlfriend.” Kyungsoo repeated his question.

“I don’t have a girlfriend.” Baekhyun silently answered him as he avoided Kyungsoo’s gaze.

Kyungsoo found himself suddenly smiling while shaking his head. “Liar. Aren’t you dating Taeyeon? Or was it Yoobi?”

Baekhyun stayed quiet as he shook his head.

Kyungsoo suddenly sat up and turned serious. “Is it someone else? Someone I don’t know?” For some reasons, he found it quite unfair that he doesn’t know who was Baekhyun’s girl.

They are bestfriends. Baekhyun knows a whole lot about him. So maybe, he should know who’s the girl Baekhyun likes at the very least. Right?

“So you’re keeping secrets from me huh? Byun?” Kyungsoo mumbles while shaking his head from side to side, dissatisfaction evident in his tone.

“Next time....” Baekhyun deeply breathes as he focused into his laptop. “I’ll tell you about her next time.”

The moment Kyungsoo stepped inside his room, he was surprised to see Eunjoo inside, waiting for him. She had this unreadable look plastered on her pretty face.

“Why are you—“

Eunjoo walked towards him and embraced him as tight as she could. “I’m sorry about earlier.” Eunjoo apologized as she hugged Kyungsoo even tighter. “I’m really sorry.”

Kyungsoo couldn’t help but smile as he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her back. He couldn’t help but feel happy. Everything felt so real. Her apology. Her hug. Her strawberry scent. “There’s nothing you should be sorry of. I was the one at fault.” Kyungsoo told her as he gently caressed her silky hair.

Eunjoo shook her head against his sturdy chest. “No. I was the one at fault. I was too pushy and I didn’t even think of how you would feel. I’m really sorry.”

“Let’s just forget about it. Okay?” Kyungsoo asked her as he pulled back from the hug to see her face and stared right into her eyes. Eunjoo nodded as she smiled at him.

“I love you.” Eunjoo said as she hugged him again.

“I love you too.” Kyungsoo mumbled as he kissed her head. “I love you so much.”

“Ah!” Eunjoo suddenly exclaimed as she pulled away from him while holding her head. Various images of a guy was flooding her. But the images were blurred. She couldn’t even picture out his face. But she could see that he was holding her hand while telling her that he loves her.

“Are you okay?” Kyungsoo asked as he hurried to her side worriedly. “Eunjoo?” he asked as he cupped her face within his hands, to make her face him. “What’s wrong?”

“I think…" Eunjoo held his arm as she spoke.  "I think I remembered something.”
