It was the first day of classes. Children were all happy and smiling while running around the whole place. Except for one student who was exceptionally timid and silent.

Do Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo quietly sat on his chair while reading a book. All the other students were running and laughing. They were chatting with each other and happily playing. But he was there, sitting in his chair while reading an atlas book. It’s not because he’s interested in atlases. It just happened that this book is in his bag. He just had no other choice.

Plus, he didn’t feel like socializing with the others. Well, he never felt like.

One male student with pointed eyes walked up to him with a big goofy grin. He offered his small and pretty hand to him for a handshake. “My name’s Byun Baekhyun. You are?”

Kyungsoo silently stared at him from the corner of his big eyes. ‘This guy looks like an idiot. I shouldn’t befriend him.’ He thought as he went back to reading and completely ignored the guy in front of him.

“Didn’t you hear me? Are you deaf?” Baekhyun asked a little louder as he didn’t really meant to, but he shoved his book away and leaned closer to his face so that Kyungsoo should see him.

“My-name-is-Baekhyun. Nice-to-meet-you.” Baekhyun half-shouted in his face, he was really thinking that Kyungsoo was deaf because he was not answering him.

Kyungsoo sent him a glare. “I heard you.” He whispered.

“You did? Why are you not answering me then? What’s your name? How old are you? Where do you live?” Tons of questions escaped this short guy’s lips.

But Kyungsoo never answered any of them. He didn’t want to be acquainted with this kind of person. He was too loud. They were the complete opposites. And so he thought it’d be impossible to be friends with this guy.

“Oh. So your name’s Kyungsoo.” Baekhyun read from his book’s cover. “Nice to meet you Kyungsoo. I’m Baekhyun. From now on we’re friends okay?” Baekhyun giggled at him as he took Kyungsoo’s hand without permission and shook it.

And just like that Kyungsoo just made his first official friend who goes by the name of Baekhyun, who when he smiles, loses his eyes.

“I hate this guy.” Kyungsoo grumbled under his breath as he looked away, not knowing how to deal with the situation.

 Just then, a small petite girl walked inside the room and then, she sat in front of Kyungsoo because there aren’t any vacant seats anymore. It was almost time for their class to start anyways so there aren’t any vacant seats.

Kyungsoo stared at her. She was cute. No. She was pretty. Her brown hair flowed naturally up to the tip of her shoulders. Her eyes were brown. And her nose was a little pointed at the end. She was so pretty that even this idiot-looking guy named Baekhyun stopped talking and just stared at her in awe. And he was sure he heard Baekhyun saying that she’s pretty.

He could hear her tiny voice as she spoke to the person sitting next to her.And in no time he figured out that her name is Eunjoo. Shin Eunjoo.

And at that time, Kyungsoo could only think of one thing.

“This girl will definitely be my wife.”

“Hey. I was asking you how we met. Why are you not answering me? Don’t tell me you forgot?” Eunjoo’s voice brought him back to reality.

Kyungsoo turned to her with a smile. “I still remember. How would I forget?”

“So how and when did we first met?” Eunjoo excitedly asked him as she moved closer to him, anticipating his answer.

“It was the first day of 3^rd grade. We were classmates. And when I first saw you. I was thinking of one thing. ‘This girl will definitely be my wife.’” Kyungsoo proudly told her.

Eunjoo pinched his nose playfully. “How arrogant can you get?”

Kyungsoo gently shook her hand away. “It’s true though. I was really thinking of that when I first saw you.” He said in a serious tone.

The funny thing is, whenever Kyungsoo tried to look serious, he couldn’t look that serious because he has such an innocent baby face.

“You didn’t like any other girls? No girlfriends at all?” Eunjoo asked him.

“I had four other girlfriends before you.” Kyungsoo told her in a normal tone.

Eunjoo’s eyes widened as she hollered at him. “FOUR?!”

“Yes. Four.” Kyungsoo smiled at her as he nodded as if there was nothing wrong with what he had just said.

“I thought…you were going to…nevermind.” Eunjoo tried to hide her disappointment but miserably failed. She couldn’t help but feel bad about him having four other girlfriends. Sure it’s not a bad thing but… she couldn’t help but feel a little jealous. The thought of Kyungsoo spending time with four other girls. Him taking care of them and such. It made her jealous.

“Do you want to know their names?” Kyungsoo asked her with a smile.

“No thank you. I’ll pass.” Eunjoo said in a firm tone. It just means that she’s already mad. And Kyungsoo couldn’t help but feel happy. Well, not because she’s mad. But because she’s being jealous.

“Their names are…” he trailed off to a little bit more. Eunjoo instinctively covered her ears with her hands so that she wouldn’t hear. She’d never want to hear their names. What’s the use of knowing their names anyways? She might just throw a fit.

Kyungsoo placed his warm hands over her cheeks as he spoke. “The first one is you. Then, Eunjoo. The third one is you. The next is you again. And the last is Shin Eunjoo.”

Eunjoo finally turned to meet eyes with him. “Really? It’s just me and no one else?”

Kyungsoo gently bumped his forehead with hers. “Really.”

“How about me? I didn’t have any one else other than you?”

Kyungsoo pulled back as he looked away, slightly annoyed of the question. “How would I know that?”

Actually there’s one. His name is Kim Junmyeon but he prefers to be called Suho. And Kyungsoo doesn’t know why and he doesn’t care either.

He just doesn’t like that guy because of two reasons:

First: Eunjoo likes him.

Second: He’s not gay to like other guys.

What’s so damn good about that Junmyeon anyways? Kyungsoo’s taller than him by half an inch. His vocals are definitely waaay better than his. And his family is undoubtedly richer than the Kim’s.

And there’s a whole lot more.

So why did Eunjoo like that Kim Junmyeon?

Up until know he still doesn’t know the answer because he only knows two things about that guy.

First, he’s a dwarf.

Second, he just doesn’t like him. As simple as that.

“How come you didn’t know?” Eunjoo asked him.

“What I know is just that… you really loved me to death.” Kyungsoo arrogantly shrugged at her.

It wasn’t true. It was the exact opposite of what she felt for him before. Eunjoo hated him so much.

But that was before.

“It would be great if I could remember everything wouldn’t it?” Eunjoo spoke in a low tone. Kyungsoo turned to her. “Just why did I forget everything?” she mumbled to herself with an exasperated sigh.

Kyungsoo held her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “It’s okay.”

“I want to remember it all. The moments we spent together. Whether it’s good or bad, I want to remember it so bad.” she confessed.

“Don’t stress yourself. And just forget about those. We can always create new memories right?” Besides, there was nothing for her to remember anyways.

“But..” Eunjoo trailed off.

“Eunjoo, let’s make a promise.” Kyungsoo smiled at her as he interlaced his pinky finger with hers. “Let’s forget about the past and just enjoy the present okay? Let’s just.. stay like this for a long long time. Okay?”

She slowly smiles back at him as she squeezes back his hand. “Okay. Let’s stay like this for a long long long time.” Eunjoo says as she leans on Kyungsoo’s small yet sturdy shoulders.

“You.. you won’t leave me right?”

“I won’t.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”
