Minzy's POV

Another day at school, I sighed and gathered my books and headed to my locker. It was time for lunch and I was starving.
“There you are” I hear someone say from behind

I turn and see Taemin waving. I put my books in my locker and go up to him

“You’re a stalker, aren’t you” I said squinting my eyes and scooting closer to him,

He just laughed and ruffles my hair.

“If you squint anymore you won’t have any eyes” he says imitating my previous gesture.

I glare at him and punch him lightly in the stomach, He winces and looks up at me his hair covering half his eyes, “You need anger management help” he says backing off just in case I pounce him.

“Whatever”

“Are you ready for what I have planned” I added as we walked to the lunch room.

“Yes Ma’am “he says puts his hand up like a solider.

“Okay, remember don’t stop to talk, just say and Hi and walk away.” I say

“Got it” he nods

“So why are we doing this” I ask wondering if he gets the meaning behind it.

“Because we want her coming after me, not vice versa” he says with a wide smile

“Prefect” I slightly grin, and then as if she knew Suli came around the coroner with her friends.

“I’ll meet you on the other side” I whisper and walk by Suli looking down, not wanting any eye contact.

Taemin walks down the hallway with one hand in his pocket and the other fixing his hair slightly,

He looked … good,

“Focus” I whisper to my self

“Hey Suli” he says and smiles,

His smile

That smile wasn’t the same one he would give me, that smile was one I never saw.

Sulli greets back, and then Taemin walks off, once he has his back facing her and he see’s me on the other end he begins making funny faces and does a little dance with his hands.

I cover my mouth and try not to laugh..

Next Day :

“Okay today were going to need their help” I say munching on my apple and pointing to Key and Minho who were walking towards us,

“Hyung” Taemin says making the two boys sit by us under the Oak tree.

“Hey goth girl”

“Hey Minji”

“Sup” I wave and we get down to business

“Oka, Hyung! I’m going to tell you two something, I already told Jonghyun and Onew hyung yesterday” he says

“Sure, go ahead”, Minho says opening his brown lunch bag

“Minji is helping me with a little project, to get Sulli to like me” he says biting his lower lip

“Oh, that, because of how Sulli thought you were just a nice pretty bo-“Key says but gets nudges in the rib by Minho

Key makes a “what-was-that-look” to Minho,

“Who-o told you” Taemin asks

“Sorry Taeminie, Jonghyun told key, and key told me this morning” Minho explains looking over at me for help

I clear my throat,

“But hey Taemin, at least now we can skip the whole explaining part” I say

He shrugs and says a couple of words I couldn’t make out.
“Okay” he says finally, then turns to me “So, let’s tell them today’s plan”

“Talk away gothic” Key says not putting his full attention to me
I give one last glare to Key, before telling Minho and them my plan for today.

“So how does that sound” I ask wanting to hear their opinion,

“What point of that makes him a bad boy?” Key asks

“That’s the point, we don’t want to change who he is for a girl, our goal is for her to realize how precious he is with his own unique quirks” I say

“Got it” Minho says and Key nods along

They get up and throw their lunch away while I gather up my belongings, I look over at Taemin who‘s looking at me, and smiling gently

“You’re going to burn a hole in my face” I say getting up

He gets up with his bag over one shoulder, and stands in front of me holding both my hands

I hold in my breathe

“Do you really think I’m precious “he asks

“I really felt special, like I actually mean something to someone”

“You’re an awesome friend” He says and hugs me really tightly

I felt the whole world stop ..

He let go and smiled at me really widely

I quickly came back to my senses and without realizing took his hand and flipped him over putting it over his back

“Don’t touch me like that ... ever” I say automatically and walk away quickly

I put my hand to my chest and feel it beating fast, really fast.

Stupid kid, making me feel uncomfortable!

Taemin’s POV

Ouch,

I got up and dusted off my clothes, So aggressive..

I smile seeing her walking so fast.

“Maybe I smelled bad” I mumble and smell my armpits

Were in class, and Minji had her head down, probably sleeping.

“Today we will be getting the results back for the test we took last week”

I slummed in my seat, I knew I didn’t answer any questions and probably failed which means no car for me. .

I looked over at Minji and sighed,

*Sorry, now I can’t take you out like I promised*

The teacher started talking again,

“Only one person got a prefect score”, everyone started whispering wondering who it could be

I knew Minji had an A in the class; probably it was her I wondered,

“Lee Taemin, Congrats” she says clapping her hands, everyone starts whistling and Minji gets up and looks around for what the commotion was about.

“Good job” the teacher says handing me the paper,

I look at it in disbelief; I knew I didn’t take the test.

I looked at the hand writing and noticing it was Minji’s,

“I’m disappointed in you Minji, see me after class” the teacher tells Minji handing her test.

There it laid, on her desk.

A big fat zero ..

*That’s my mines*

“Minji” I say looking at her in surprise,

“Why did you do that” I asked

She just shrugs and crumbles up the test,

“You needed the grade, if you didn’t get all A’s you wouldn’t have the car” she said looking at her nails

A small smile appears on my face,

“Really?” I ask again not believing my ears

“Yeah, you’re a friend, I had to help”

That’s when I lost it.

I jumped on her my two hands around her waist,

“Thank you thank you thank you”

She tries to escape my grasp, but she may act stronger then me most the time! But she doesn’t know I’ve been working out lately.

I let go of her and am still smiling like manic

“If Sulli saw you like this, she would have thought of you as a 5 year old” She said fixing her bangs

“So, she’s Sulli, you’re Minji”

“And you accept me for who I am” I whisper in her ear

She turns red and that makes me laugh even more
“You’re so immature” she says

“But really though” I turn around to face her, “Thanks for finally admitting to be my friend, it feels good” I say putting my hands behind my neck.

And then she does something she rarely does, she smiles and laughs out loud , her laugh today wasn’t because of how stupid I looked.

Today she was whole-heartily laughing.

It made me feel all fuzzy inside, I didn’t know what that meant but maybe it was me sincerely starting to admire my best friend.

Minzy’s POV

“Sulli is walking towards you guys, begin talking” I say over my walkie talkie

“Got it” Says Key and see Sulli from the cornor of his eye

“Dude how are you not going to the party today, everyone is going to be there, even Sulli” Key said making Sulli tune in into the conversation.

“Sorry, I promised to be at the animal shelter, I can’t just ditch last minute”

“A promise is a promise” Taemin adds

“You’ve been volunteering their forever, you’re only missing one day dude” Key says

“I know, but I have to think of them in this situation, There are barely volunteers there, Have fun hyung” , with that Taemin leaves and passes by Sulli intentionally pretending not to notice her.

Sulli stands there,

She must be touched, ..

Key walks over to me and gives me high-five and we watch Sulli running to Taemin,

“What do you think she’s asking him?” Key asks

“Sulli is into all that animal rights stuff” I say

Key gives a small smile

“Nice one”

“But what if she finds out he was lying” Key asks

“He started there yesterday actually, you know how he has that obsession over puppies” I say making Key nod

“I think this is our first normal conversation” Key says

I nod and put out my hand

“Thanks for being my friend” I say getting a shocked look from him

“What-t do you mean?” he says clearly not believing me

“Taemin says I shouldn’t be mean to you, so that’s why I’m thanking you”

He starts chuckling and takes my hand into his,

I then smile, making him even more fluttered and confused.
“Do I really not smile that much?” I ask

“No you don’t, you’re freaking me out” he says still holding on to my hand

I clear my throat and he lets go,

“But you shouldn’t stop smiling, you actually look, uhm, kind of nice” he says

“Thank you my friend” I say

“Okay, uhm! Don’t say that, just go back to the way you were before; we have a mutual connection that way” he said

“Now you’re just plain freaking me out”

“Touché” I say agreeing.
