Taemin’s POV

“No, No and No” Key hyung said putting his hand through his hair,  “Who knew it would be this hard to buy her a gift” He added

“It’s not, Taemin is making it more complicated” Minho said eyeing me

“I’m not” I whispered and looked around for the prefectgift.

Tomorrow is Minji’s birthday, She’s turning 18, 18!!!

“How about his?” Jonghyun said.

“She wouldn’t wear that.. Wait a minute.. Her name isn’t Megan?” I said

“Oh, didn’t even notice” Jonghyun said putting the gift back

“Can we go, my game starts in 10 minutes” Onew whined

“Shall we?” Minho asked looking over at me

“Yea, I’ll be there” I said waving at my hyungs

I roamed the store and finally came upon the gift.

“Assaa, she’ll love this” I said smiling and taking the items to the cashier.

“So, when  is she coming?” Minho asked, handing me the party decorations.

“In a bit” I replied

“I still don’t get the concept of surprising her? What if she freaks out, and storms out?” Key said huffing his bangs out of his eyes

“Not everyone is negative like you” Jonghyun said, making Onew and I laugh.

“Whatever, I still demand to eat the cake first” he said

“She’s coming!!!” Onew

“You know the drill” I said,

“She better be surprised” Key mumbled

Minzy’s POV

Why are the lights off? I wondered reaching for the knob, but it was already open. I went inside, and put my shoe in the shoe rack...

“SURPRISE” 

I jumped up and dropped my bag.

“What the hell” I shouted making Minho jump a bit

“Happy Birthday” Taemin says and turns the lights on, That’s when I see the once normal living room decorated into a bizarre birthday themed room.

“HAPPPY BIRTHDAYY” Onew and Minho along with Taemin who was squished came running to me. Before I knew I was in the biggest hug ever.

“Can’t breahe-e-e”

“Yaa, let go” Key said and pushed the boys off of me.

“Happy birthday goth girl” he said and did the peace sign

“Happy Birthday babe” Jonghyun said giving me a quick hug.

I wasn’t close with any of the boys, but they each had their own way of interacting with me, Onew was like the older brother I never had. Minho is like a parent, who tells me to finish, my homework, and if it was someone else, I would have been annoyed, but when he does it, I feel like someone actually notices me and cares. . Jonghyun has his own of talking; he flirts and hugs for no reason. First time he tried that I kicked him somewhere unpleasantly, but now I got used to his skin-ship addiction, or at least that’s how Taemin described it. And there’s Key, How could I forget him, He’s the one who made me hate shopping. We don’t quite get along, but are on mutual terms.

“How did you know?” I asked putting the silly strings off my hair.

“It’s you’re birthday! How couldn’t we know” Taemin said smiling widely.

After what seemed to be hours, or nonsense partying, Taemin demanded we open the presents!

“Mines mines” Onew said handing me a wrapped box

I opened it and pulled out a pair of black boots

“Oh, these look so comfy” I said trying them on

“Their called UGGS, pretty expensive too” Key added

I looked over at him and glared, for which he responded with a whatever-I’m-just-saying-look.

“Appreciate it, Onew-ishh” I said and taking them off

“I’m next” Jonghyun said handing me a small box.

“Wow” I said looking at the basket filled with …

“Their all necessities, and since you’re growing girl, you need to stay on top with these stuff” he said with a wink.

Minho shook his head, and Taemin gave me an apoplectic look.

“I would never have thought going out to buy this, but it looks awesome!” I said giving Jonghyun a reassuring grin.

“Minho you can go next” Taemin said,

He handed me a wrapped small box also,

I heard Taemin’s Ohhs and Ahh from the background,

“That’s so pretty” I said putting the bracelet around my wrist

“Isn’t this the same one I said was pretty that day” I looked over at Minho

He quickly nodded, making Onew whistle. 

“My gift is for sure the best” Key says making everyone shake their heads

“Let’s see what you got?” Taemin said sitting by me.

He handed me an envelope and said open it.

I opened it, and took a out a card, it was a Halystine’s shopping spree card for $1000.

“You gave her money hyung” Taemin said who reading from my shoulder.

“It’s … more then money Taeminiee, it’s a $1000”, he said

“Isn’t that the store you work at?” Onew asked after he looked at the card.

“Yes, how else would I get something like that” he said rolling his eyes

“That is a lot of money, Key never gives away money” Minho said and Taemin nodded along

“Wait a minute, isn’t that your 6 months savings?” Jonghyun said arching his eyebrows.

“No-o, what are you talking about?” Key replied quickly

Key nudged him in the ribs, making him shut up.

“You guys are really awesome; this is my first having a birthday party”

“Really, Then next year’s is going to be bigger and better” Minho said making Onew laugh.

“TIME FOR MY GIFT” Taemin said basically screaming in my ear

He ran to the next room, and brought a wrapped box, and handed it to me.

I opened and found two shirts that looked exactly alike.

“Why did you get two?” I asked puzzled

“Don’t-t, don’t you know couple shirts?” He asked his eyes getting worried

“ARE YOU SERIOUS” Key said putting his hand to his face

“You bought”, he paused to take a deep breathe, “Couple shirts?”

“Why not, they were too cute to pass up” he explained.

I then understood.

“So we need to be wearing these shirts, together, at the same time?” I asked

He nodded

“Not happening” I said

Everyone laughed.

“Not fair” he said with a pout on his face,

For the first time that night I felt like smiling, he looked extremely precious doing that, I thought to myself.

Once everyone left, and I and Taemin cleaned up, I went to my room holding all the gifts I received tonight.

I actually had a party.

It felt good; I nodded and smiled feeling all warm inside,

“Are they my friends now?” I said out loud

I never had friends...

Taemin’s POV

I tip toed to Minji’s room and knocked on it,

“Are you awake?” I slightly whispered.

“No” she said, and I cracked open the door and made my way inside before slowly closing it behind me.

“Why.. Are you doing that?” Minji asked looking at me weirdly.

“What?” I asked

“You’re acting as if you’re sneaking in my room” she said rolling her eyes.

“I just wanted to say happy birthday one last time before it turned 12am” I said putting my hands in my pocket

The room was dark so I couldn’t much of her face, but from the moonlight beaming on her bed, I could see her hair tied in a small bun, and her bangs covering her forehead.

“Your gift, sadly! Won’t be seen out in public” she said making me groan

“You can’t do that to me Minjj” I said making her chuckle.

“But, What if I tell you I have another gift” I said

“Highly doubt that” she said

“Don’t underestimate me” I said smirking.

“Where is it then?” she asked getting up from her bed

I took out a small case from my pockets and place it on the corner of her bed.

“Hope you like it, Happy 19^th birthday Minji” I said and gave her a hug. But what surprised me was her actually hugging back.

“Thank you” she said softly, but I heard her, loud and crystal clear.

Minzy’s POV

Once he left, I quickly ran to the get the box, and ripped open the wrapping paper.

I found a phone case, for my phone?

I took it out and it was okay, I smiled at the designs on the back. Just then I received a text

I rolled my eyes and smiled at the screen.
