Date Nut

Cheer Up, Dude

After four weeks, school went on as normal and Kiseop started to talk to Jungah a lot more, along with other people. Kiseop officially met Soohyun for the first time, and Jekyung finally felt like she could finally let him go.

But, for some reason, the more and more Kiseop and Jekyung would drift apart, the more lonely Jekyung felt. She was happy Kiseop was finally making friends and being more social, but she felt alone without him. After all the time Jekyung and Kiseop agreed that he needed her, it started to seem like she needed him

----

"How many times do I keep telling you to go without me?" Jekyung looked down at Kiseop in his shadow. "I stay here so I can say hi to you in the morning" Kiseop smiled and stood up

"What? Why?"

"I don't know.. But, hi" he giggled. Jekyung rolled her eyes. "When you and Jungah start going out, I hope she's attracted to annoying guys"

"Did you just call me annoying..?" Kiseop gasped dramatically.

"Indirectly.. But yes.." Jekyung smiled and skipped away.

"Yah! Kyung-ah! Yah! HAN JEKYUNG!" Kiseop shouted out to her.

----

"It's like, he's doing well, but with that, he's become more cocky and annoying. Sometimes I really feel like slapping him. But I don't know why I hold back!" Jekyung vented to Eli, Kevin, and AJ

"We're.. sorry?" Eli said unsurely. Jekyung sighed. "It's not your fault.. I need a therapist.."

"I think you're taking this a little too seriously.." AJ said while Kevin and Eli nodded. Jekyung looked around the room when she saw Kiseop sitting and eating with Jungah. "I remember when he was so scared to even come to the cafeteria to eat and now he's eating with her all by himself"

"Let me ask a question.. Are you.. By any chance.. Jealous?" Kevin asked. Jekyung looked at him in shock.. "What!? Why on earth would you say that..?"

"It was just a question" Kevin looked down at his plate of food.

"Are you?" Eli added. "No! Of course not. I couldn't be happier for him.. It's just.."

"It's just what?" Eli asked.

"I just miss him a little" Jekyung pouted, feeling her appetite fade away. Soon after, the bell rang..

"Well, we gotta go anyway.. Oh yeah, Jekyung, don't forget.. We have rehearsal from 3 to 5" AJ said and threw out his trash.

Jekyung walked to class by herself and sat by Soohyun, who was playing on his phone.. "You put the phone charm that I gave you on your phone" Jekyung smiled. Soohyun looked over to her and smiled. "That I did"

Jekyung went for her backpack to take out her notebook when she remembered that she was gunna ask Soohyun to go to the dance with her. "Hey Soohyun.."

"Hey what?"

"You know that dance that's coming up..."

"Oh yeah.."

"Do you go to dances?"

"Not.. Not really"

"How come?"

"I never have a date.."

"Wanna ask me?"

Soohyun looked over at Jekyung in disbelief. "Why don't you go with Kiseop?"

"He already has a date.." Jekyung looked down at her notebook and said coldly.

"Hmm, you don't seem too happy about that either" Soohyun nudged Jekyung, who just nodded slightly

"Well then. If you really wanna go to this dance. Jekyung, will you go with me?" Soohyun said with a deeper voice, making Jekyung laugh. "Yes! Yes I will!" she said melodramatically, as if they were in a soap opera. They both laughed and did a high five

"Maybe I should just hang with Soohyun and the others.. And leave Kiseop alone. That way I can get my mind off of him.." Jekyung thought

----

"Hey! Jungah!" Kiseop galloped over to Jungah's locker to meet her. "Hey Kiseop!" she smiled. Kiseop looked down at her beautiful smiled and froze. "Uhm.. There's something I wanna ask you"

"Okay.. Go for it" she giggled.

"Uhm, well you see.." he started, but lost his train of thought when he saw Jekyung walk past them, not even looking in the direction. "Kyung!" Kiseop tried calling her over, but she ignored him and kept walking.

"Didn't you say you had something to ask me?" Jungah asked. Kiseop couldn't speak since he was so nervous. So many thoughts went through his mind, about Jungah, and Jekyung. "I do, but I'll ask you later.." Kiseop smiled and ran after Jekyung

Jungah stood there confused, but soon returned to pulling books out of her locker.

----

"Kyung! Kyung, wait up. PLEASE" Kiseop ran after Jekyung.

Jekyung finally stopped and turned around.. "You know you can stop calling me that" she said calmly

"What?" Kiseop panted..

"Well our deal was that I help you get closer to Jungah and other people, and after we were done, we can stay out of each other's lives. After all, you find me annoying and you don't wanna be friends... And you seem ready to let me go... So you don't have to make me feel comfortable anymore"

Jekyung bowed to Kiseop and started walking away.

"What's your problem?" Kiseop asked Jekyung's retreating back. "I don't have a problem. I am a woman of my word. I helped you.. We're done"

"But.. I do need you. I still do. I'm not ready, Kyung.. I might seem like it, but I'm not. I still need a hand to hold.. I still need your help" Kiseop explained

Jekyung watched as Kiseop crumbled in front of her.

"I almost screwed it up with Jungah back there.. And it was because you weren't there. Please don't leave my life.. At least not yet. I might have called you annoying, and I did tell you that I didn't wanna be your friend, but I'm not ready"

"Kiseop.." Jekyung whispered.

"Please.. Stay.." Kiseop pleaded. Jekyung looked down at the ground and sighed. These feelings that grew for Kiseop inside of Jekyung wouldn't leave her mind at peace. She wished she could watch him go and live life without her beside him, like a mother watching her child go off to their first day of elementary school.

But it was clear that Kiseop wasn't quite ready yet. He still needed her guidance. He still needed someone's hand to hold.

Jekyung sighed. "What am I going to do with you?"

Kiseop smiled and threw himself at Jekyung, giving her a nice warm hug. "Thank you, Kyung" he whispered.

Jekyung sighed. "You're welcome, Kiseop"

"I hope these feelings I have don't get worse" she thought

"I'm so happy you decided to stay" he thought

----

After their conversation, Jekyung watched from behind the wall as Kiseop talked to Jungah. Just knowing that she was watching made Kiseop feel 100% more confident. Just as the bell rang for the next hour of the day, Kiseop and Jungah waved goodbye to each other and Kiseop ran up to Jekyung with a smile on his face

"Well?" Jekyung smiled

"She said yes" he smiled and jumped up and down. "Congrats, dude" she punched his arm lightly. Kiseop nodded and blushed

"Now we both have dates! Well, I'll see you around" she smiled and walked to her next class. It was only after Kiseop realized what Jekyung had said that his smiled dropped.

"Kyung.. Has a date?"

"Since when?"

"Who is it?"

"She has a date?"

Even though his mind was basically on his crush, after what Jekyung said, Kiseop couldn't stop thinking about her for the rest of the day...

I hope I'm not taking this story too fast.. I have a list of things I wanna include in this story and I hope I make sure to put them all in
