One month after the dance, school went on as usual. Kiseop sat and ate lunch with Jungah more while Jekyung sat and ate with Kevin, AJ, Hoon, Eli, and Luna. 

It was now almost two months into Kiseop's relationship with Jungah and he still hadn't kissed her, to which she started to grow impatient. Jungah always thought it was Jekyung's fault, but ever since the dance, Jekyung and Kiseop drifted apart and would only talk shortly maybe twice a week. Jungah found this as a good thing, but Kiseop had begun to convert back to his quiet, sheltered self that he was before Jekyung came along. He even took some days throughout the month to sit in his shadow, not waiting for anyone, just wanting to be alone. 

And Kiseop didn't know why he felt so.... lonely again. He had a girlfriend, but he drifted away from her and everyone else. He drifted away from Jungah, Jekyung, Soohyun, Eli, AJ, Kevin, everybody. Even his mother

And it was all because Jekyung decided to leave him be. And this made Kiseop scared. Scared that she wouldn't come back. 

He tried to forget about her, but nothing would help. 

Kiseop had wished he could have a healthy relationship with the girl he had crushed on for years.

But something wouldn't leave his mind...

Jekyung walked around campus at lunch when her phone started to ring. She looked down at her phone in her hand and saw Hyunseung's number, so she ignored it. 

"I miss Kiseop..." she thought. She thought of might where she and Jungah might be, until she was taken by surprise at Jungah also walking around campus alone.

"Jungah!" she called her over. Jungah walked over to her, knowing she was going to ask about Kiseop.

"Where's Kiseop?"

"Why do you wanna know?" Jungah hissed while crossing her arms.

"Just tell me" Jekyung rolled her eyes

"I wouldn't tell you even if I knew"

Jekyung took a sigh of frustration and walked away. After looking for a couple minutes, she sat down and thought.

"Should I really go check the shadow? He never goes there anymore" Jekyung thought. "Wouldn't hurt to look"

Jekyung looked around the corner and saw Kiseop sitting in his shadow, looking down at pokemon cards. "Hey" she said, still hiding behind the corner. Kiseop looked up from his cards and looked in Jekyung's direction.. "Kyung..." he said in almost a whisper, but then smiled. "Why aren't you with Jungah?"

"I don't know.. I just don't wanna be" he said flatly. Jekyung looked down and sat next to Kiseop, reminding her of the "old" days. "Well I ran into her, and she didn't seem to be in the best mood"

"Because I don't feel like sitting with anyone" Kiseop sighed

"Oh..." Jekyung said and started to get up, assuming that he didn't want to sit with her either. But as she got up, Kiseop reached out and grabbed her hand, sending shivers through both of them. "No, stay" he whispered. 

Jekyung felt more chills as she slowly sat down closer to him. "I thought you just said you wanted to be alone" Jekyung said. 

"I take it back.. Just don't go" Kiseop sighed and loosened his grip on her wrist until he just held her hands in his. Realizing what was happening, Jekyung slowly pulled away, but Kiseop reached for her hand again. 

"What are you doing?" she asked

"I.. don't know" he confessed. Jekyung slowly looked up and looked into his eyes, while he looked back into her eyes. That's when they realized that they don't look at each other often. 

Kiseop took in Jekyung's beauty, while she did the same with him.

Then, the bell rang...

Jekyung tore her gaze away from Kiseop and watched kids rush into their classrooms. "We should go" she said and stood up, and walked to class with him.

Jekyung walked into to class and sat next to Soohyun. "You okay?" Soohyun asked her. She looked over at him looking confused. "Why wouldn't I be?" she asked

"I don't know.. You seem to be zoning out.. Thinking about something important?"

"Yeah.. I guess" she said looking out the window. Soohyun shrugged and put his hand on her shoudler.. "Well, snap out of it, we're in class now" he said and opened his text book.

After their classes, Jekyung laid under a tree to hide herself from the sun after rehearsal with Luna. "So are you gunna meet him after school?" Luna asked her cast mate. 

"Yeah, he wants to hang out after school" Jekyung smiled, referring to Kiseop

"That's cute.." Luna smiled and drew lines around the clouds in the sky. "Well, he's still got a girlfriend"

"That, apparently, he doesn't even like anymore"

"I never said that. They're just drifting apart.. As were we"

"Well, it's nice you guys are hanging out again. Out of the two of you, I think you look better with him, and not Jungah"

"Thanks?"

"Do you like him?"

"I wish I didn't.. But.. I think I do"

"Awwwwww!! I wish my crush liked me back" Luna sighed..

"I don't think he likes me back, and even if he did I-" Jekyung replied but then stopped when she realized what Luna said. 

"You have a crush too??" Jekyung sat up and looked down at Luna.. "Maybe" Luna covered her face with her hands. 

"Who?!?"

"I don't wanna tell you! You'll make fun of me" Luna said

"Do I know him?"

"Yes.. We both know him well"

"Tell me!"

"NO!"

"PLEASE!?" Jekyung pleaded. 

Luna sighed and moaned. "It's okay. I won't tell if you want. I can help you get with him. Apparently, I'm a miracle worker.." Jekyung giggled

"OKAY FINE...... It's AJ"

Jekyung sprung up and covered with her hands. "OH MY GOD NO WAY! THAT'S SO ADORABLE" 

"SHUT UP!" Luna rolled around in the grass in embarrassment.. "NO NEVER!"

"Kyung!" Jekyung heard Kiseop yell from far away. She spun around and saw him walking towards them. Luna looked up and smiled. "Hi Kiseop!" she shouted

"Hi Luna" Kiseop smiled. Just seeing them made Kiseop feel so much better. Jekyung saw Kiseop's smile and took a deep breath of relief. She loved seeing him smile. It gave her hope

"Where should we go?" Jekyung asked Kiseop as they walked down the street. "I actually wanted to go to the park, but then I got slammed with more homework so I wanna go home. You wanna meet my mom?" he smiled. Jekyung gasped. "I get to meet your mom?" Jekyung asked with a smile. Kiseop looked down at her and nodded. "Yupp. I think you'll like my house too, it's on a hill" he added.

As Kiseop and Jekyung walked, they found themselves on a quiet road and everything became dead silent until Jekyung thought of breaking the ice.

"You live really far from the school" she sighed as they walked up the hill. 

"Well, we just passed by a bus stop down there. In the morning, I go to that bus stop and take a bus to the school. This is my first time walking from the school to my house" Kiseop huffed and puffed. 

"Yeah, I can tell" Jekyung watched as Kiseop wiped his forehead..

"I think you need to get you a haircut, since it's getting hotter" she added. "Only if you get your hair cut with me" Kiseop snapped, but suddenly giggled

"Okay" Jekyung shrugged. Kiseop looked at her with a shocked expression. "I was kidding" he said. "No, I actually wanna. I've been thinking about it"

"Well, if you really wanna, then we'll get it cut on the same day" Kiseop declarded.. Jekyung smiled and swung her arm around his shoulders..

They continued to walk up the hill casually when they could hear...

...Sirens..

Kiseop and Jekyung looked behind their shoulders and saw ambulances behind them. "Kiseop..?." Jekyung mumbled. The ambulances rushed by the two and they watched them disappear in the trees. Kiseop could feel tears in his eyes as he ran as fast as he could to his house while Jekyung ran with him, trying to keep up.

When they got there, Kiseop ran up to find the ambulance trucks along with two cops cars. From where he was standing, he could see someone being taken out of his house on a stretcher. "Mom" Kiseop cried and ran farther into the mess of trucks. 

He was finally met by the sight of his mom, bruised and bloody. "Mom, what happened?" he tried to speak through his cries. His mom reached up and caressed his cheek. "My beautiful son.. It's gunna be okay. I'll make this right.." she whispered. "You can't stay here tonight... Find someone to stay with.. I love you" she smiled as she was put into the back of the ambulance. Kiseop cried where he stood while Jekyung watched from afar, feeling tears fall from her eyes as well. Kiseop's cries of sadness and confusion then began to form into tears of anger when he thought of his step father, and that this was most likely his doing. He looked around and his eyes landed on his step father sitting on the curb, his hands in cuffs.

Kiseop felt his blood boil and his hands form fists as he ran towards him.

"YOU SON OF A !! HOW COULD YOU YOU WORTHLESS..." Kiseop cried and swung at him, punching him square in the face. His step father didn't even attempt to fight back. Jekyung ran into the scene and pulled Kiseop away. "Kiseop, stop. This won't solve it" Jekyung cried as she tried her hardest to hold him back. Soon, the police led Kiseop's step father to the police car where he was safe and Kiseop fell to his knees. Jekyung loosened her grip on Kiseop's arms and held him in her arms as he screamed up to the cloudy sky over and over. 

Jekyung couldn't help but cry along when she heard his painful sobs. "Shh, Kiseop.. It's gunna be okay.. Shhhh, calm down sweetheart" Jekyung shushed Kiseop and rocked him back and forth. But not much worked. 

Kiseop sobbed loudly on the ground, not even acknowledging Jekyung trying to calm him down. Then, Kiseop looked to Jekyung with a red, damp face and continued to cry, throwing himself in her arms. "I'm sorry" he sobbed

"Shhh, it's okay, honey... Just take a deep breath. It's going to be fine." Jekyung cried silently, trying to be strong for Kiseop. His head buried in her chest

Jekyung rocked Kiseop back and forth until he went limp in her arms. She couldn't stop his tears and stiffled breaths, or her own. But at least he was calming down. After Kiseop was done crying, he and Jekyung took a cab to her house. When the cab arrived, Jekyung walked and kneeled next to Kiseop who was looking down at the ground blankly. "Kiseop-ah.. It's time to go, okay?" she said and held his hand. Kiseop only nodded and walked with her to the taxi. "You're staying with me until your mom is released from the hospital" Jekyung told him on their way to her house. Again, Kiseop only nodded. His state of shock broke Jekyung's heart. 

When they finally made it to Jekyung's house at almost 8pm, Jekyung changed her sheets, pillow cases, and blankets for Kiseop so he could sleep in her bed.

Kiseop and Jekyung did homework for about three hours before sleeping, but Kiseop couldn't concentrate.

"Kiseop.. You've been looking at question number five for ten minutes... Are you having trouble?" Jekyung noticed and asked. Kiseop shook his head. He had barely spoke since he left his house. "I just can't think..I'm sorry" he said 

"Stop apologizing" Jekyung rolled her eyes and held his hand. Kiseop looked down at his hand then back up at Jekyung, who gave him a slight sympathetic smile. "Everything is going to be alright and I'll be with you every step of the way"

Kiseop sighed and felt like crying again. "I want my mommy" he started to crumble again. Jekyung moved her chair closer to his and hugged him around the neck. At first, he didn't hug back, but after a few seconds, he wrapped his arms around her waist as well. Jekyung couldn't help but shiver to his gentle touch. She sighed as he rested his head on her chest and got her shirt damp with his tears, to which Jekyung started to run her fingers through his soft, dark brown hair

"Shhh" she cooed. Her hot breath hitting his ear, making him shake slightly. He felt bliss when they touched every time. 

After 11pm passed, Jekyung put Kiseop to bed and watched him sleep for a little while. His innocent sleeping face made Jekyung smile. "You're so precious" she said and stood up to head to her place on the couch. As she was about to turn the lights off....

"..Kyung"

Jekyung turned around to a half-asleep Kiseop. "Stay with me.. Please.."

She suddenly felt embarrassed. "I can't do that..." she blushed. 

"Please.." Kiseop pleaded. 

"He obviously doesn't know what he's saying" she thought. "I..." Jekyung started, not being able to think of what to say..

"...Does it make you more comfortable?" she asked him, to which he nodded. Jekyung sighed, turned the lights down, trudged towards the bed, and laid down next to Kiseop

Jekyung felt stiff, not being able to touch him in any way for the first five minutes in darkness. "I don't do this kind of stuff" She confessed

"Neither do I" Kiseop said "I've never done it before"

Jekyung and Kiseop looked up at the glow in the dark stars and moons on her ceiling and sighed.

"You have a really pretty room" Kiseop blurted, which made Jekyung smile. "Thanks" she said

Jekyung, unknowingly, since she was so tired, turned and wrapped her arm around Kiseop's waist. Kiseop stiffened at first, but loosened up when he decided to turn in her direction and put his arm around her so they could be closer. After a while, he looked down at her sleeping face lit by the moonlight coming through her window and started to her hair.

And in no time, they both fell asleep, cuddled up in each others arms, feeling relief in each other's touch
