“Love takes time”

Everything felt surreal. Never in a million years did I expect this to happen. I thought this was a family dinner and not my wedding.

My freaking wedding with Kris.

And now I sit here, in the reception hall, watching Myungsoo emcee the program

Kris and I were sitting on a sofa that was placed on the stage, the spotlight focused on us.

“you’re gripping my hand too tight” Kris whispers

I immediately let go of his hand “sorry. I didn’t know I was holding your hand”

“it’s okay” Kris smiles, holds my hand and kisses it

We smile at each other

“aww… look at the loving couple. They seem to have forgotten about us.”

We laughed

“and now, we will present a short AVP about the newlyweds” Myungsoo says

I look at the screen and hit Kris’ shoulder. The title of the AVP was “a love: ten years in the making” the film starts off with our baby pictures. A tear slid down my cheek when I saw our loving high school photos. We were so sweet and loving back then but somewhere in the middle we lost it. The next photos were about our separate lives after college and our recent photos together.

I found the AVP bittersweet; this wasn’t a real relationship, this wasn’t a real wedding. This was a contract.

“I present to you, Mr and Mrs Wu” Myungsoo says and Kris takes my hand for us to stand.

“They’re asking us to dance” Kris whispers and leads me to the dance floor

Kris slowly leans in and whispers to my ear

“are you happy?”

Am I happy?

Happy to have found him again? Yes.

Happy about how this turned out? Yes.

Happy that I will be by his side? Yes.

Happy that I am now his wife? Yes.

Happy that all of this was a lie? No.

“I just asked you a question that can be simply answered by a yes or no and yet you think too hard” Kris chuckles and spins me around

“I just can’t believe you were able to do this” I look at him

“anything to make you happy” Kris says and kisses my forehead

Kris and I started to go around thanking people for coming. I spotted Heechul at a corner, I immediately dashed to the corner

“I know you helped Kris.” I whispered

“no, it was you who helped us” Heechul says and takes a sip from his champagne

“me?”

“well, actually, your black notebook when we were still in high school”

“what? How did you find that?” I hit Heechul’s arm

“Kris kept that notebook of yours.”

“how did that notebook help the wedding?”

“well, that notebook of yours contained your dream wedding. From the motif down to wedding dress”

“why?”

“because, Kris wants you happy”

“me? He wants me to be happy?”

“yes. Kris wants you happy. May this be fake or real he wants you to be happy on your wedding day because he’ll be taking away your freedom. Let’s face it, you’re no longer single. A young, handsome, eligible bachelor has already taken you”

“oh, please. He’s anything but eligible” I roll my eyes

“are you happy?” Heechul asks me in a serious tone

“Heechul, you clearly know the answer to that. You know the answer more than I do.” I smile

“well then, I wish you all the luck and happiness in this world” Heechul hugs me

“you’re not going to wish me best wishes?” I laugh

“go, Kris is already looking for you” Heechul pushes me to Kris

“there you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!” Kris holds me by the waist and leads me out to the elevators “we’ll be late for our flight!”

“flight?” I ask as he leads me out
