Tao walks to a boat at the end of the dock. He stands, unsure, before deciding to knock on the side of the boat. Lay emerges - unshaven, possibly unshowered.
“Ah. My first visitor.”
“Yeah, the boat looks great. You look like . But your boat looks great. Why didn’t you invite me earlier?” said Tao
“Yeah. I live on my boat, man. Personal hygiene goes out the window. A lot of time to work on the place. Well, this was supposed to be just for Krystal and I - for our retirement. Leave our jobs. Sell the house. Take off.” Lay is clearly having a tough time. Tao doesn't know what to say. They're silent for a second.
“Sorry. Where are my manners? Permission to board granted. I'll show you around,” said Lay with a weak smile.
Tao smiles, steps on to the boat.
“You should try working on a shower, Xing”
“Yeah, I know” replied Lay
“Hey, what can I tell you? Standing on principle, man.”
“It's all I got.”

A cigarette being lit. Widen to reveal Lay smoking on the upper deck of his boat, steering it out into the bay. Lay stands across from him, looking on.
“Cigarette?” ask Lay to Tao
“Sorry” Tao refuses
“It's okay, good for you.” Lay switches to his left hand, away from Tao.
“So did Tiffany send you out here to check up on me?” ask Tao
“Yeah. Pretty much.”
“What are you gonna tell her?”
“I'll tell her how gorgeous you look out here on the ocean.” said Tao with laughs
“Any message from Krystal?” Lay asked
Tao shakes his head no and Lay seems disappointed.
“I think she's been busy getting ready for her sister's funeral though, so...”
Lay looked at Tao with a strange face “Her sister's what?”
Tao suddenly clarifies “Wedding. Her sister'
