Jonghyun didn't really have an interest in girls, neither did Key. They both liked each other, but they didn't want to be together. It's not that they didn't, but he didn't. 

Kim Kibum, more known as Key, was a real attention grabber. Great fashion sense and gorgeous looks.. who wouldn't like him? Everyone knew he was gay and accepted it. Lots of boys would confess to him and he went on lots of dates. But everytime he got serious with one of them, they would break his heart. He was never shown love... He got fed up with it and turned down every guy that asked him out. He was broken and didn't know what to do or who could save him. He was afraid to give his heart to anyone else, afraid that they would give it back in broken pieces. 

Kim Jonghyun was in love with Key ever since he met him. He didn't really focus on looks but personality. Key was a kind, smart, caring person and he adored that about him. Appearance was just a plus for him. He confessed to Key one day and asked him out right after. Key shot him down and Jonghyun didn't know why. 

The next day Jonghyun met with Key during lunch. 

Key sat opposite of Jonghyun, his head down. He didn't want to look into Jonghyun's eyes. After rejecting someone, he wouldn't contact them for days, but Jonghyun begged and Key couldn't really say no. 

"Key.. please go out with me. We both like each other, how could you reject me?" Key continued to stare at the ground. 

"I can't..." 

"You can't or you won't?" Key kept silent.

"Why won't you?"

"I'm afraid.." Jonghyun stood up and sat next to him to hear his whispers.

"Afraid of what? Key.." Jonghyun took the other's hand in his. "I won't hurt you. I promise."

Key looked up, tears starting to well up. "You promise?" He scoffed. "You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard that before. Those promises were all broken and again, I was left hurt and alone." 

Key tried to let go of Jonghyun's hand, but Jonghyun held it tighter. "I won't be like them Key. Please believe me. I would never do anything to hurt you."

He bitterly chuckled. "The last one said that."

"Can you stop that?" Key looked at Jonghyun. "Stop comparing me to the others. I'll be different, I promise." Key contemplated Jonghyun's words in his head and looked back down at the ground.

"You have seven days." 

"Huh? Seven days? For what?" Key looked back up into the other's eyes.

"To show me that you're really different."

"So you're willing?" A smile showed up on Jonghyun's face. Key nodded and soon found himself in the elder's arms.

"Ugh, Jonghyun! Too tight!" 

"Oh, haha, sorry~" He let go and Key readjusted his shirt. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

Key nodded. "Remember. Seven days."

Jonghyun nodded and got up from the table, surprising Key with a kiss on the cheek. Key lifted his hand to touch his cheek and for the first time in a while, he smiled.
